Villa Inez better known as "Chubby" Dowdy, vanished from her home on September 1, 1993. Her husband told family members that she had simply just up and left. It would be eleven years until the truth finally surfaced. Chubby's husband would confess to his children that he had murdered their mother and buried her in some nearby woods.
Inez's children would make a difficult decision to contact authorities and turn their father in. Shortly thereafter, David Dowdy directed police to a shallow grave approximately five miles from their home.
After eleven years and many unanswered questions, the family now had the closure that some of them thought would never happen. Villa Inez "Chubby" Dowdy leaves behind many who have never forgotten her love and kindness. She can finally rest now, because she has been found, and those responsible are now taking responsibility for their actions on that fateful September night in 1993.
