You can train your puppy to relieve itself where ever you choose, most of the time it will depend on where you live. You should train your dog to an area that will be permanent, changing areas after a while will be extremely hard on both you and the dog. Use one command such as "go potty" or "go on hurry up". Get used to asking your puppy "do you want to go potty" or whatever your command be, before taking him to relieve himself. When he gets older, when you ask this question, he will answer by wagging his tail, watching you intently, or going to the door, each dog will show you in it's own way. After being excited, eating, and sleeping, a puppy will have to relieve itself. If your puppy is sniffing the ground a lot, it may mean that he is looking for a spot to urinate. The urinary and intestinal tract muscles of young puppies are not fully developed meaning they have to relieve themselves frequently. |
