PENNY PINCHING TIPS
For Kitties: Litter: use newspaper to line bottom of litter pan with shredded newspaper on top instead of store bought litter. To start your kitties off, add a little store bought litter on top of the shredded newspaper. For Toys: milk bottle tops and rings make great toys. Or paper rolled up into a ball. Thoroughly rinse out old plastic prescription bottles & remove label and use for "roller toy." You could also place some grains of rice or something that will rattle inside to make it more interesting to your kitty. To keep kitties warm, instead of heated mats or beds, buy the pink or blue styrofoam from Home Depot or Lowes and use that instead. Cover with an old wool blanket for added warmth.
For Doggies:: Use old clean towel: cut into strips and tie each section into a knot. Give one at a time to play with. Use an old tee shirt cut into halves or fourths in which an old tennis or rubber ball has been placed. You can get used balls at yard or "church" sales or flea markets.
