| This crumbling old building, built primary with concrete, sits along what was once part of the Trans-Canada highway, near Coles Island, NB. It's been abandoned for at least the duration of my lifetime, but I did find evidence that someone, perhaps a homeless person, had been staying here within recent years. If you're wondering why anyone would want to stay here, then you obviously have never experienced a cold January night here in New Brunswick. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I'm really not sure just what this building was used for. The large area at the left suggests a garage, but there's no evidence of a vehicle lift, service pit, or most importantly doors wide enough for a vehicle. However, you can clearly see where two large doors may have once been, so perhaps this was a garage at some point in time. There is also a walkway on the right side to an exterior washroom, which was probably for public use. Things get even stranger once inside. The photo at the left shows a door leading to what may have been a dining area, and off that is a kitchen and another washroom. My guess is that this building was probably built as a garage, and later converted to something else, such as a community hall or dance hall. I will try to find some more info on this building. |

| Two very old refridgerators. The one at left was of particular interest, as Northern Electric used to make radios and TV's up until the mid 1950's. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
