| LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND |

| What do we mean by "love"? Most people think they have a good idea of the meaning, but if we look at a dictionary, the difinition is quite broad. For example, the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary gives the explantion as follows : love (n 1) : warm, kind feeling; fondness ; affectionate and tender devotion : for example, a mother's love for her children, a love of learning/adventure, a love of one's country, to show love towards one's neighbours. It is only when we get to the second sense that we read : love (n2) : warm, kind feeling between two persons ; sexual passion or desire. This is undoubtary the sense we think of at the first mention of the word, but on reflection, the earlier examples are also very important to human life. A mother's love for the children leads to protection of helpless babies, a love of learning and adventure leads to the pursuit of education and discovery , a love of one's country leads to nation pride, and love towards our neighbours encourages social cohesion. All the different aspects of love are frequently expressed in works of art, such as painting, music and poetry. |

| Why do we fall in love? We have all heard of the phrase "Love at first sight", and occasionally this is the way it happens, but more often than not, love grows gradually, so that we are caught unawares by some other quality than visual appearance. Imagine yourself walking down the stree, when suddenly you catch sight of an exceptionally good looking person - someone with dazzling smile, or speaking eyes, or in a word, someone irresistably attractive. Are you going to immediately fall in love with that person? Of course, some people will say "yes" straight away, without really thinking , but other more thoughtful people will say, " well really I know nothing else about that person except his/her appearance, what is he/she really like?" What are these other mysterious qualities that make us fall in love with each other? some look for intelligence , some for ambition, some for a sense of humour. Each of us has different requirements, arising from our experience of life and our family upbringing. Luckily we don't all look for the same things in our beloved, or a tiny minority of people would be in great demand. The reality is that there are enough different kinds of people to enable all of us to find someone to fall in love with, in our own special way. |

| Love colors the world and makes it alive. Love can drive people to do anything they want. However, love sometimes is not enough for marriage. A couple's life needs more compatible factors, such as taste, attitude, social and educational background. One should never expect the other to change after getting married, but better except the way he/she is before the wedding. One way to know if you can accept your partner is that if you can accept six out of ten of his/her flaws, then the marriage is possible. |
| LOVE CONCEPTS |
| If you find yourself in love with someone who does not love you, be gentle with yourself. There is nothing wrong with you. Love just did not choose to rest in the other's person's heart. If you find someone else in love with you and you don't love him/her, feel honored that love came and called at your door, but gently refuse the gift you cannot return. Do not take advantages, do not cause pain. How you deal with love is how you deal with you and our hearts feel the same pain and joys, even if our lives and ways are different. If you fall in love with another and he/she falls in love with you then love choose to leave, do not try to reclaim it or to assess blame. Let it go. There is a reason and a meaning. You will know in time. Remember that you don't choose love. Love chooses you. All you can really do is accept it for all its mystery when it comes into your life. Feel the way it fills you to overflowing then reach out and give it away. Give it back to the person who brought it alive in you. Give it to others who deem it poor in spirit. Give it to the world around you in anyway you can. This is where many lovers go wrong. Having been so long without love, they understand love only as a need. they see their hearts as empty places that will be filled by love, and they begin to look at love as something like flows to them rather than from them. The fist blush of new love is filled to overflowing but as their love cools, they revert to seeing their love as need. They cease to be someone who generates love and instead become someone who seeks love. they forget that the secret of love is that it is a gift and that it can be made to grow only by giving it away. Remember this and keep it in to your heart. Love has its own time, its own seasons and its own reaction for coming and going. You cannot bribe it or coerce it, or reason it into saying. You can only embrace it when it arrives and give it away when it comes to you. But if it chooses to leave from your heart or from the heart of your lover, there is nothing you can do and there is nothing you should do. Love always has been and always will be a mystery. Be glad that it comes to live for a moment in your life. If you krrp your heart open, it will come again! |

| There are different answers for men and for women . Men tend to err in the direction of assuming for the woman is interested because she's being polite. women tend to err in the direction of assuming a man isn't interested because he's dividing hid time egually between her and something completely trivial like, say, earning a life. For men : You will know if tehy like you. Yes, you will. What this means is that if you are really not sure --then they probably don't . Most women are not teases. If you have been out of 5 dates and she has not kissed you yet, then she's going home to her friends and saying "Jesus Christ, hasn't he noticed that I haven't kissed him yet!?!? Why does he keep calling me? He's going to make me tell him to go away, isn't he? she may also doing things like not returning your calls and only see you once every other week or so . Why the girls does keep going out on the occasioanl date, I don't know. It's just something we do. We were brought up to be confrontation. this way you both come out with your egos intact. For women : You will know if they like you . Oh yes , you will. But only if you are not a freak about it. You know how if one of your friends is really busy and they say "I can't talk right now." You hang up the phone and don't think twice about it? Because you know that you're friends. she's been nice to you 50 million other times before. Don't succomb to this rollercoaster ride. (On the other hand, women need to be sensitive to teh cues, too. If you are always calling and he's always getting off the phone -- pay attention to that. It could mean he is not interested , it could mean he doesn't like being called at work , it could mean lost of things. Lay off for a while. See what happens.) |

| More than 2000 years ago, there was a festival in Rome every year on February 15 th, called " Lipereallia ". At this festival, the names of all the young women were written on pieces of paper, then the pieces were folded and put together in a box. Each young man then look out one piece of perper. The girl whose name was written on the paper would be his partner for the festival of dancing and games. Many young people met the people they would marry. This Christians later changed the name of the festival to honor a Christian Saint named Saint Valentine and changed the date to February 14 th, the day St. Valentine died. this was believed to be the date when birds first began to mate after the winter season, and for that reason they kept the holiday in honor of Love. Valentine's Day is a special day when every boy can say "I love you." to his girlfriend. It is also a day when children give Valentine cards to all their friends, parents and teachers. A husband gives his wife a lovely card, or a bouquet of flowers, of a box of candy. Valentine cards are usually made of red and white paper, in the shape of a heart, with a poem inside. On Valentine's Day every classroom has a Valentine Party. For many days before February 14 th, the children are making Valentine cards at home for all their friends. then on Valentine's Day , they take their cards to school and put them in a big red box in the classroom. when the teacher opens the Valentine box and gives out the cards, each child gets the cards with the name on each. Sometimes a shy boy does not sign his name on the card, he only writes "Guess who?" on it. After all the cards are opened, there is ice cream and cake for everyone. |

In a recent on-line survey, Dateable.com , and internet-based romance community, asked wemen a series of questions on dating and what it takes for men to 'get lucky'. First Dateable.com asked : How long does it take for you to get comfortable enough to have your first kiss? About 50% answered within the firt two dates[ actually statistic : 47.5%] . What happened to the remaning respondents ? They say that it ' depends on the person'. What does it take the women to go further ? A full 28% say they are willing ' to sleep with man on the first date' and 41% say they are willying to go all the way second time around. The remaining 30% say they would wait at least ' a couple of moths' before they slept with a man. How do women decide who will get lucky on the first date? Learn a few jokes. surprisingly, sense of humor ranked as the number one determinant in getting lucky within the first few dates (38%). Financial success ranked second (26%). and physicalcame in third position (20%). A viriety of other answers from ' scent of person, cleanliness and good breath' came in at 16%. |

| The origin of the term 'honeymoon' is something of mystery , but according to folklore, it stems from marriage practices of day long before wedding ceremonies ever existed. Instead of having a public marriage rite, a man would very often simply abduct his choosen bride , and would go into hiding with her for a period of time, until her (possibly enraged) relatives stopped looking for them.
