| Maxis: Freshman Orientation | ||||||||||||
| The 9th day in the House of Virgo Its New Student Orienation. The 1st semester is always the hardest for the new people. Its also really hard on me. Its been a long night, only to start as long morning, but at least unlike my other jobs I can wear whatever I want and bring my Blastboard with me. This helps because without it I would be running late again. But I make to the Undergraduate Admissions building with about five minutes to spare. Just long enough for me to get a cup of coffee before I start. As sit down looking into my cup I wish this wasnt the 1st of tours or that I hadnt been working at the resturant so late. Excuse me, is where we meet for the tours? The tremor in her voice held the standard uncertainty of a lost, new freshmen. I breathed an internal sigh, sat down my cup and looked up. Thank the Gods of Magic that I had put down the cup because when I looked up Im sure I would have been wearing it. She stood a little shorter then me; the black boots came up just above her ankles; the Fishnet stockings climbed up her leg into a set of slits in a skirt that came down just below her knees. The white shirt clung to her body like it was almost wet and the top button was open, I imagine to get some air because it was hot in there. But the most striking thing about her was not the perfect body, which let me tell you could nail like a fullback on a blast board. It was her eyes. They were golden with a slight green ring around the irises which were at that point vertical slits. Perfect cats eyes. Ahhh, yeah. I stuttered. Real smooth. Sometimes I wish I was as good as Jhaelyn at talking to people. Oh well, nothing I could do about it now. I hopped up and offered my hand out to her. My name is Maxis Spellstorm, 2nd Semester Student. Whats yours? Lyssra. Well, Im the one whos going to be giving the tour. Now Im just waiting for the other people to show up so we can get going. Your coffee spilled. I looked down to see that my in rush to get up, I had knocked it over. Crap. Long morning ahead. I shrugged my shoulders. No reason to whine about it now. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a pack of Rush gum. Its not greatest gum in the world but it has enough caffeine to kick start a drunken Orc. I should know, that who I got it from. After popping a piece into my mouth, I turned to offer her one.Im warning you now, its not the best tasting stuff in the world, but if youve had a long night there is nothing on Forge like it. She kind of hesitated when I offered it. I guess she was shy. A few mintues later the rest of the group got there. After a introducing myself to everyone we started out across campus. I began to point out all various locations of importance: computer labs, libraries, dorms and all of that sort of jazz. Its hard to keep track of what Im saying because Lyssra keeping staring at me with all of the attention of a cat waiting for a mouse to climb out of a hole. Waitits not really fair to put it like that. I imagine that she gets a lot of those jokes, so I gotta remember when I see her not to make them. Of course during this thing she was the only one really paying any attention to what was I saying. Everyone else was watching her. Which brings me to something that was kind of strange. There was someone doing video survellance around campus. A couple of times I got static across my googles.You see I have the video link in my visor connected to a Storage Unit Board so I can have Vids of Blastboard games. It transmits in the 1ghz-2.6 ghz range so when Im on the track I wont lose data due to the interfrace of the magnetic rails. But I digress. Well the 1st time it happened I didnt bother with it. When it happened the second time I punched record on my board. Lets see what they are looking at. When I got it home I popped it into my computer. They were in various spots in campus and always focused on Lyssra. Not like she was a bad thing to look at , but there is just something I dont like about this. I mean its not hard to get the camera, but those wireless buggers are not cheap either and the place was littered with them. All looking at her. I dont like this Diary. I think Im going to talk to Jhaelyn. This type of cloak and dagger stuff is out of my range. Maxis Spellstorm |
