"Lovers in the Dark"
As the
day blends into night
Darkness
does invade my sight
As
I blow the candle out
Seek
the last of light to rout
That
I may find you in my dreams
Here
is the only place it seems
That
we may be alone at last
For
to relive our loving past
We
meet at once in loving dance
Slowly
we meet, as if by chance
We
find again each other's hand
Our
feet leave footprints in the sand
Of
time and so we know to kiss
Each
other blindly, not to miss
What
in spirit, if not in flesh
Forces
our minds and thoughts to mesh
As
if we indeed were one
As
we have already done
Each
other's past throughout time
As
our spirits do entwine
Throughout
Eternity

Down
through history's ancient ages
Through
story books' yellowed pages
We
chase each other most madly
And
rejoin together gladly
As we
different roles do take
Changing
our names for hist'ry's sake
We,
as strangers, anew do meet
To
make this loving ruse complete
And
when I have you in my arms
Again
partake of all your charms
Our
lips joining in honeyed dew
Once
more our ancient love renew
We
are arrant.

do see
You, my mate, and so to thee
All my love wends its merry
way
Surrounding you and with
you stay
Binding us with all its strength
Finding us through all of
hist'ry's length
