Chapter 9: It’s your song

It didn’t take long for JC to invite Kelly to go on the road with them. He wanted to get to know her more and hopefully find out if she would be able to handle the hectic life style that they were about to lead. They were continue to cross America traveling from coast to coast and each day it brought the two of them together and they tried to see the sites of each city.

By the end of August the group was in New York City opening the Virgin Megastore in Union Square. JC and Kelly had some extra time to spend that night and he wanted everything to make it as romantic as possible. He arranged to have a private viewing of Sleepless in Seattle and after the movie he blindfolded her and escorted her to The Empire State Building for a candlelight dinner for two. He held her close as they dance under the stars and for a few hours it seemed like the world had stopped for them.

They spent the night in each others arms, making love and holding on. He was finally truly happy with where he wanted to be in his life. Unfortunately, his happiness was coming to an end, since Kelly had to return to DC to continue school. They of course had discussed their options but in the end JC told her that he would never forgive himself if he knew that he had kept her away from her dreams.

In middle October, they joined their first major tour opening for Janet Jackson. This was the first time in over a month that they were able to see each other and of course they spent the entire time in each others arms.

They released Home for Christmas, which joined their debut in the Billboard Top Ten.

They started their first headlining tour in November, which again took him away from Kelly. By December the guys still hadn’t slowed down any, but they did get to spend some time together with each others families for the holidays.

~Christmas Day~

"Here honey." JC said sliding next to Kelly on her couch.

"What’s this?" She said smiling as she ripped the paper from the box.

She gasped as she unveiled the tiny velvet container.

JC stood up and pushed play on the radio. He couldn’t believe that Lance had gotten him hooked to Garth Brooks but this song fit for everything that Kelly had inspired in him.

(It’s your song played softly in the background.)

"You mean everything in the world to me. Before you came back into my life I wasn’t sure that I really wanted to go through with this but every night that I get up on that stage It’s your song that is playing in my head. What you said to me in New York about not letting anything stand in between your dreams and making them come true. You are my dream and I want to make it come true. Please say yes to becoming my wife and join me in Las Vegas for New Years." He said trembling as he held her hands.

"I don’t know what to say. YES!" She exclaimed as she threw her arms around him.

"I know it is going to be hard but when is life ever easy." JC said crying.

"Honey life will be easy with you in it." She was crying as well as he slipped the ring on her finger.
