Chapter 16: Wrapped Up In You
Everyone was extremely happy that they were going to be able to spend Christmas with their families this year; they all made their separate plans. Justin and Kristy had decided to go to different locations she was going to California to visit her mother’s family and he was going to Memphis. Though they exchanged gifts before they left each other, she was exasperated when she opened the tiny silver locket with their pictures in it and he was equally mesmerized when she bought him a small diary to keep all the romantic memories in.
Chris had taken his whole family to the Bahamas for the holidays but unfortunately, Sandy couldn’t go with them as she was returning to Lexington to visit hers. JC and Kelly both went back to Maryland to work on some of the details of the wedding planning. Joey was saddened to learn that the base in which Reann was staying on was locked down for the holidays do to inclement weather. Lance reluctantly went to Mississippi to spend the Holidays with his family.
The holidays were heart warming and wonderful. Each had their own unique aspects. Justin and Kristy talked almost every night on the phone as did Joey and Reann. Chris thought about surprising Sandy in Kentucky but thought it wise not to since he had never asked if she had a boyfriend. Lance didn’t even have the chance to remember his broken heart as his family kept him busy and he was beginning to think of building a house in Jackson.
But unfortunately, the holidays soon passed and everyone meet in Hawaii where they were going to welcome the coming of the new millennium. Everyone that was near and dear to them joined, their parents, siblings, Kelly, Kristy, and surprising to Chris, Sandy agreed to come along, then only heartbreak was that the morning of the 31st Reann had called Joey and said that there was no way that she would be able to join him in Hawaii. That she loved him and she would see him soon.
The show went on with out a hitch and those guys along with the family on stage started the count down…
10, 9, 8, Joey noticed a figure walking up the stairs. 7, 6, 5, tap on his shoulder he turned around. 4, 3, 2, "Oh my god, I am so wrapped up in you." Joey screamed and dropped to his knees. 1, HAPPY NEW YEAR! "Marry me, Reann?" She said pulling the huge 3 caret diamond solitaire from his pocket. Yes was the only thing she could say as he slipped it on her finger and the two embraced romantically! He announced his impending marriage to the crowd who cheer in unison "CONGRATULATIONS, JOEY!" And as everyone was hung up on the fact Joey just got engaged Justin and Kristy, finally were able to sneak in their first New Year’s kiss. Luckily, for the both of them, no one saw what they shared, except Lance.
*****LATER THAT NIGHT******
It was about four in the morning when everyone arrived at their hotel and at about four thirty or so Justin knocked lightly on Kristy’s door. It wasn’t unusual for them to spend the night together they had slept next to each other but both of them knew that it was different tonight. There was something in the air. As Justin walked into the room neither of them said a word as Kristy slowly back her way to the bed, much in the same way that Justin had backed her against the wall during their first kiss.
He licked his parched lips slightly as she pulled herself to the top of the bed causing her paper thin nightgown to rise with her. Justin soon dropped his boxers and slowly kissed his way up her long thin body. It wasn’t until he was at the center of everything that caused her to be a women did either of them realize how far they were about to go.
"If you want me to stop please tell me." Justin said caressing her hair looking straight into her eyes.
"No Justin, I don’t ever want you to stop." Kristy exclaimed as both of them lost what was left of their childhood.
