Chapter 14: Cold Shoulder

By the end of August the plans for JC and Kelly’s wedding were well underway. Joey had flown to Germany again. Lance was still pinning away for Natalee though he was starting to get out and about more and almost 8 weeks after Kristy and Justin started seeing each other no one knew that they were together. But then there was Chris who by all right should have been thrown in jail for stalking Sandy, however she was starting to grow attached to him.

She finally broke down and called him when the guys were in Atlanta and the first Challenge for the Children Charity game that they funded. They had a long talk about what they were looking for and again she refused to let him totally get under his skin.

Chris had gone again to see his family in Pennsylvania and without his knowledge his sister got into his phone and called Sandy.

"Hello." Sandy said waking up from a dream.

"This is Chris’s sister, Molly. I just wanted to ask you if you would be come up to Pennsylvania when he is here for the Autumn Leaf Festival and make him shut up. What more can a little sister ask for." Molly stopped talking.

"Well." Sandy thought for a moment if Chris ever found out that she had refused his little sister then he would never speak to her again. "Good." She thought in the back of her mind but then it was clouded by the instant replays of all the things that Chris had done for her since he had started his stalking binge. He was cute in his only silly ways and his many different hair styles made him somewhat likeable. "How can I refuse something that makes me smile at the mere thought of him?"

"Of course I will be there." Sandy said with a smile. "But don’t tell him ok it will be our secret." The two girls laughed as they went over the details of Sandy’s arrival. She was due to have a week vacation anyway.

Chris was completely stunned when his sister walked up at the festival holding Sandy’s hand.

Closing his mouth all he could get out was, "What does this mean?"

"It means that I am here to see you and I will be here for the next week, if that is alright with you?" She asked slyly.

"Alright, of course it is alright." He yelled "yippee" jumped up clicked his heels and immediately started introducing her to his family.

It wasn’t until a few days later when they appeared on TRL that Sandy got the full aspect of what his group was all about when with Gloria Stefan they shut down Times Square.

They had spent some very romantic time together but they both had to cut it short when he had to get back to Dover for a meeting with Aerosmith. For some reason they had decided to drive since they were close but just as they were about to reach the city limits the bus blew a tire. Unfortunately, they were also getting the first snow storm of the year.

He wondered if he would be able to do it. To live the life of the road while the one that he loved lived far away. Sure he would get to see her every now and then but was it enough to keep her. Time would only tell and all he had to hold on to at that moment were his memories and the cold shoulder they sat on.
