Chapter 11: Shameless

It had seemed like an eternity since Joey had seen Reann. They both had massive telephone bills and after seeing the destructive nature that Lance was drifting to after his one night stand with the girl of his dreams Joey just knew that he could not take it any longer.

He boarded a plane on the day before Valentine’s Day and headed to Germany without telling anyone. He arrived early in the morning so he knew that she would not be awake yet and had told her father earlier that week when he would be arriving. His father picked him up though he was not happy.

"Boy, what exactly are your plans with my daughter?" He asked in a stern army tone.

"Well, sir. I see my future in your daughter’s eyes and I would like to have the permission to ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage in the near future." Joey gulped staring through the windshield. He couldn’t believe that he had just asked the General if he could marry is one and only daughter.

"But let me tell you now son that if you so much as ever break her heart in any way shape or form you better wish that someone will be able to identify the remains that I might leave behind. Do you understand, son?" The General smiled gently as the two pulled into the drive way.

Joey raced up to Reann’s room where she was sleeping soundly.

"Honey, Wake up!" Joey kinda nudged her and kissed her forehead.

"Joey, what are you doing calling at this time." She said sleepily. Then with an astonished sound she quickly jumped from her bed when she realized that he had kissed her. The two embraced and kissed like they had never kissed before.

"Oh Joey, I don’t want to spend anymore time without you." Reann said as she held him tighter still not wanting to believe that he was really there.

"Honey, I don’t want to be without you either and you only have a few more months here." Joey said tracing her face.

"A few more months, Joey it’s February, I can’t leave until November. That’s practically a year." She huffed.

"Yes, but it will be a year that is going to fly by until we can be with each other all the time." Joey said kissing her again.

They spent the following week going around her town and catching up on all the time the had lost while they were apart and for the first time under the moon and the stars they made love. At that moment when both of them reached the edge of no returning Joey knew in his heart and soul that he would never be able to live without Reann in his life. He was shameless to her, live or die he would do anything for her and he didn’t care who knew about his love for her.
