"Rumored"

This is a list of songs, that Elvis is rumored to have recorded, or done live, or both.

For the most part, I have attempted to exclude songs that I know they exist, and might become

available, for the most they are from on stage performances in the period; 1969-1977

(either through hearing it on a concert tape, or through concert info provided by others on the Internet, or

who have the show on tape, or through looking at old newspapers.)

The songs below are listed with all the info that I have on them right now.

If anyone has any further information, I'd love to hear from you, so that I can update

 and correct this web-page.

As for now, this is the only information I have at the moment.

Here is the List :

1954 - 1955 Sun Studios, Louisiana Hayride, On Tour :

Old Shep

10-3-1944 Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show

Mabe there was a tape made, The show itself was recorded on tape.

Till I Waltz With You Again

Keep Them Cold Icy Fingers Off Of Me

1953?

Elvis may have sung this song on a KWEM Radio show in Memphis.

This song has now shown up in poor quality.

May be an Unreleased part of a taped rehearsal session in January 1955 at Sun Records.

In 1987 RCA said they found the master and would release it later in 1987.......still waiting for

that one to come out.

Always Late (With Your Kisses)

In the 1955 folio "The Elvis Presley Album of Jukebox Favorites".

In 1982 RCA said that Elvis May have recorded it in 1955, they had session notes but couldn't find

a tape, also said to have been recorded during October 25-28, 1954, at KWKH Studios.

("The Louisiana Hayride".)

I Almost Lost My Mind

Sun Records, 1955.?

Tiger Man

Sun Records, 1955.?

In August 1970 Elvis would sometimes introduce this as "one of my first records",

or "my second record", (without the "Mystery Train" part included.)

Crying Heart Blues

Sun Records, 1955.?

Blue Guitar

1955, possibly after 1955, perhaps done on the "Louisiana Hayride".

That's The Stuff You Gotta Watch

1955, Hayride, Sun?

How Do You Think I Feel

Sun, 5-5-1955 and/or 12-1954.

Elvis' band did an instrumental and Elvis can be heard off-mike ("I Don't Have This, but It's Available")

Supposedly from 12-1954, I don't know if Elvis did a vocal version.

I Apologize

Sun, Elvis did a bit before singing an alternate take of "Beyond The Reef", 9-1962, also

a snippet of it on stage at Lake Tahoe, 5-27-1974. (3am show)

This song was recorded by someone else but Elvis did background vocals.

(think this is available on a box-set somewhere.)

Play a Simple Melody

Sun?

Rock Around The Clock

Live 1955-1956 on tour and at the Hayride; 9-22-55 Kingsport, Tennessee.

Rockin' Little Sally

Sun?

Sunshine

Sun, 1955?

Tennessee Dancin' Doll

Sun or Live, 1954-1955?

You Are My Sunshine

Sun?

From the Sun years, these are the songs I think are most likely to be real and to show up

sometime (bear in mind that "Fool, Fool, Fool," as well as the two 1953 songs that started it all

and "I'll Never Stand in Your Way," were on this list before and were not considered

very likely to appear, and that Elvis' limited repertoire might have forced him to sing

many different songs at the Hayride and on tour.

The release of "Hearts of Stone," for example, caught me and this list totally by surprise):

It Wouldn't Be The Same Without You

Without You

Rag Mop

Satisfied

Oakie Boogie

Always Late (With Your Kisses)

Tennessee Saturday Night

Night Train To Memphis

Casual Love Affair

Uncle Penn

Rock Around The Clock

Next Week : 1956-1958.
