D.J. Fontana, Scotty Moore & All Star Tribute CD Confirmed :

This project and CD are not a rumour! D.J. Fontana and Scotty Moore will be getting

together again at Sun Studios to record a tribute CD to Elvis.

The involvement of particular people such as Michael Jackson can not be officially confirmed

but the project / CD itself has been confirmed to Elvis information Network by Graceland via

Megan Murphy.

It said the album will include just about every music superstar ever to grace the

top 10 chart positions.

Including Elvis' former son in law Michael Jackson.

BMG, Elvis record company, is not supposed to be involved.

Three songs were recently recorded for the set at London's Abbey Road studios,

according to a report

on Dire Straits founder Mark Knopfler's official Web site.

Knopfler himself recorded a version of Lewis' Rock 'n' Roll Ruby, "Brian Ferry" coverd

Presley's "Don't Be Cruel," and Italian artist Zucchero took on Rich's "Who Will The Next Fool Be."

The Backing band for each of the recordings included Knopfler, former Presley band guitarist

Scotty Moore and drummer D.J. Fontana, drummer Marcus Cliffe, bassist Chris White,

and former Sqeeze member Jools Holland on piano and organ.

While Knopfler is said to be finished with his contribution to the album,

others expected to contribute

tracks to the album --which as yet does not have a label or a target release date--include

Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, members of the Who, former Queen guitarist Brian May, Van Morrison,

and Bonnie Raitt, among others.
