Steele Together

Laura Holt-Steele woke up, in a strange room. But, it wasn't strange, she remebered, she was in the huge master bedroom in the castle in Ireland. She rolled over to see her husband smiling at her.
"Good morning," Remington Steele continued to smile. Laura smiled too.
"Morning," she replied, "have you been up long?"
"Awhile, do you know you look beautiful when you sleep?" he leaned in to kiss her soft lips.
"Mmmm, thank you Mr. Steele," she said kissing him back.
"For what?" he asked
"For everything, for last night," she kiss him again, "for that."
"Last night was wonderful, wasn't it?" Remington smiled at memories they made last night with the endless lovemaking and the silent expressions of their love. "Yes," she replied rolling on to his warm body and pressing her lips to his, thirsty for more.
Remington returned her kisses as he rolled her on to her back, kissing the soft skin of her neck.
"Haven't you had enough, Mrs. Steele?" he asked smiling, still surprized that the practical and sensible Laura he use to know could turn out to be so seductive.
"Never," she replied pulling him to her.

Laura woke up shivering and turned in bed to put her arm around Remington for warmth, but her hand droppped to the cold sheets. She bolted out of bed, and ran to the bathroom, empty. She ran out of the room, through the castle, no one. She went back to the master bedroom, and opened the drawers, all she saw were her own clothes, the closet, empty. She dropped to her knees and cried.

Laura awoke with a start. "Harry," she gasped, she turn to see the other side of the bed empty, her stomach tightened, he was gone.
"Laura?" Remington asked coming out of the bathroom. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, relieved he hadn't left her. She felt guilty even thinking about it, but her dream seemed so real, and so familiar.
"Laura, your sweating like a race horse," he came to her, sat next to her on the bed, and brushed her sweaty hair out of her face. "Something's wrong, please don't shut me out," he replied holding her hand in his. "I know this marriage didn't start very honestly, but I want us to be honest with eachother."
"So do I," Laura agreed. She took a deep breath, and told Remington about her nightmare. When she was done she looked at him. Remington was silent for awhile, and his face remained indifferent.
He got up and went to his suitcase. He looked through it a bit, grabbed something, and came back to sit next to her on the bed.
"We've waited a long time to get to this point in our relationship, and," he paused, as if thinking what to say next, "I don't know how many times I have to say this, and I'll say it for the rest of our lives, if I have to. I'm not going anywhere, Laura, and if you let me I would like to prove it to you." He opened the little box he had in his hand, and reveled a beautiful diamond ring. "Laura, I love you, more than I ever thought I could, and I want to ask you to marry me, for real this time." Laura remained silent. Remington began to sweat himself, was this the right time to ask her, will she accept?
I love you...the words repeated themselves in her head, but she could belive she actually heard them. She pinched herself, ouch, yes, she was awake.
Tears started pouring down her cheeks, and he wants to marry her, she couldn't believe her own ears. She smiled.
Laura threw her arms around his neck and buried her face in his chest, she couldn't belive it. Remington looked at her uncomfortably, awaiting her answer.
"Yes, Mr. Steele, I will marry you, again," she exclaimed. "I love you, too," she added softly.
Relieved, Remington sighed, he pulled Laura to him and gently kissed her soft lips.
They tumbled to the bed wrapped in the warmth of eachothers love.
Laura pulled away, "Was it worth it?"
He looked at her questioningly.
"The wait, was it worth the wait?" she asked about his earlier comment.
Remington laughed. "Yes, Laura, it was well worth the wait!" She smiled, and he kissed her again.
