How I Feel At the End of the Course
It has already been five months since I first started taking the Expository Writing Course, which has concentrated strictly on writing essays. I’ve learned a lot about writing, such as the different ways in which you can start essays, how to write the various types of essays, and how to make the essays better. Another thing that I learned which I consider important is that I learned that writing is endless and so is the infinite number of times one can revise and edit his or her piece of writing. In the beginning of this course, I did not, in any way, consider myself a writer. Although I still do not consider myself a writer at the end of this course, I can proudly say that I no longer consider myself a non-writer. As I completed the variety of writing assignments, I found myself almost having fun thinking about how I should write a certain essay. (This is one improvement I consider to be pretty big)
Some of the
essays I enjoyed the most while writing were the definition essay, biography of
influence essay, and the personal narrative essay. They were entertaining to write, especially because they were about topics I cared or
were just interesting. I am glad that I took this course because I think I
gained a lot from it. It was helpful and I would recommend it to anyone who
likes writing – since they’ll have fun writing the different types of essays –
and to anyone who does not like writing, in hopes that their opinions about
writing may change. As I said in the beginning of the course, “Writing is a
process required in many parts of life.” If you must do it, why not learn to
enjoy it?
