Hiding

Look at the picture above and tell me what you see. All you see if a man walking? Look closer in the upper left hand corner. The dragon appears to be blending into his enviroment. This is exactly a ranger should focus on when hunting.

 First of all this is a Rangers best skill in my opinion along with the stalking skill.  The ability of a Ranger to slip into darkness to capture his or her prey is matched by only that of a thief.  To make of use of this skill just type, "HIDE."  Sounds easy, but unfortunately there is more to it.  First of all there are many things that affect your ability to hide on a creature successfully.  Obviously ranks and skill are the first.  Wounds affect your ability to hide, always , make sure you are healed fully before going to hunt or even spar.  Things like internal scars, twitching, and bleeders can cause you to fall out of your hiding place.  This can mean the difference between life and death.  There is allot of debate over what will teach and how many times you can hide or stalk a creature.  My advice to you you is watch your mind state while you are training this skill.  If you see that it is not moving perhaps you need a larger creature or you should move to a different hunting area.  Also, nothing teaches hiding like allowing the creature to get to pole range before you hide.  You will have to time it perfect, to prevent the creature from getting to melee, but you will notice great results.  Again I encourage you USE YOUR MAGIC.  Earth Meld is a wonderful spell and combined with your Ranger Bonus you can hide at melee with a certain amount of ranks.  

Stalking

To stalk a critter simply hide, then type "stalk ." At first you'll have alot of trouble stalking anything without being noticed. Try hiding and advancing on critters while hidden. This teaches stalking really well. Also utilize those older rangers! Classes from an expierienced ranger can get you learning fast. Stalking other players around town or in the guild can also teach well. Keep in mind if a player find you stalking them without permission, they may end your life. You may want to ask if your not sure. With some creatures you can use the term "poach" while training longbow. Simply, hide, stalk , aim, and then poach . Use these skills to your advantage. With the Ranger bonus, a good cast of earth meld, and a good cast of senses of the tiger your hiding and stalking prowess will be unmatched.
