Fletching and Longbows
Creating bows and arrows is a facination of mine. The skill teaches good mech lore and at the appropiate skill levels ensures the ranger that no matter what, if he or she loses thier bow they can always replace it with another. It takes 20 ranks in longbow to beging to create a decent bow. Arrows need only 10 ranks in longbow for creation. If you do fletch your own arrows I would suggest using broad-barb arrowheads. There is some controversy over what is a better arrowhead, but I've never failed with broad-barbed. They seem to pierce critter armors better and provide a better stun on impact. These can be found in the survival shop in shard. You'll need a wood shaper, feather flights, flight shears, a carving knife, and flight glue to start making your own bows and arrows.

There is alot of controversy also over the point system. If your not sure what this is I'd suggest readin other sites, asking other rangers, and reserching this for yourself. Don't just take my word for it. Ppraisal plays a huge role in this as well. What I do is appraise my longbow. Then I move the decimal point twice to the right. If my longbow appraises at 4500 kronars, then I have a 45 point longbow. There are at least 3 other systems people use to determine the point of thier bow. I use this one. The fact is with a higher point bow and low skill your still not as effective as a low point bow with a mastery the weapon skill. Train your bow and see what works for you.
