| This is a program that seeks to improve and protect the health of the Illinois River and its tributaries by helping landowners plant native trees along riparian areas (land beside the water) of the Illinois Valley. Over time these trees benefit the watershed on many ways. The program runs from November to April each year. We offer a free site consultation and free seedlings. Usually the landowners plant their own trees. Once every season we have Volunteer Planting Day, on this day the community comes together to help their neighbors, their watershed and their communty. On this special day we all gather to plant seedlings and afterwards share a meal together. If you would like to become a part of this project or wish to help out with Volunteer Planting Day please give us a call at 541- 592-4098 |
