Prologue

Un moriath seh-ta! A collection of bones quickly arose from the ground, forming an impenetrable wall of bone between he and his foes. The skeletons of animals long dead collected themselves and started to meld together, but didnt melt enough to show that they were not of bone. They protruded out as if to pierce their attackers, horns so strong that they would not break, this bone of old.

But he knew his time was almost up. He was not welcome in this strange land. He ran deeper into the lightless cave, searching for a way out, a passage that held light. He could see just fine in the blackness, quickly deciding which way to go when a decision was forced upon him. Passage upon passage held only darkness, yet he was looking for a light, a light which would show a path out of this dark cavern.

I know hes in here! That blasphemer shall pay with his life for what he has done! He heard his wall finally break down with a surge of cries from the townsfolk. But he was far ahead. He still had a little time left to create his defenses, to plan his attack: and his escape.

Ah, he thought. So Ive done something wrong have I? Ive done wrong to them by doing what is right? This is preposterous! But there is no way out And he knew it. There was now way out of this cave.

He put a few more walls in random places, hoping to deceive his pursuers into persuing the wrong passage, but it didnt work. There was a seer among them, and they knew each other well. But not well enough as to prevent her from seeking him down and killing him, it seemed. But alas, he sighed. It just wasnt meant to be it seems. It is time, as they say, to face the music and end this eternal charade.

The villagers appeared at the entrance to the cavern. He spotted their torches glowing brightly red, casting their shadows upon the walls, distorting them in some demonic way as the fires flickered, and began to sputter. An goriath muth sestra! he cried. The fires died instantly, replaced by cold blue ice. You shall see what it means to defy the gods, mortals! The villagers crowded around themselves, the seer producing alight from her pocket.

You can not escape, demon, she spoke softly, though clearly. For your high crimes you shall be punished, and that will be execution. Face us now, and your punishment, for there is no use running.

He jumped down from his hiding place, unsheathing his sword, a gift from the Valarn of old. It burst into flame with the first breath of air, a bright white flame that burned through the flesh of one of the humans unlucky enough to be his first target. Landing soundly on both feet, he prepared for another leap towards the entrance of the cavern, not wanting to kill more than he already had of the unknowing townspeople. He felt arrows fly by his face as he turned to face the bows of three females down the passageway, readying their arrows once more. Some of the men behind him were struck by the arrows, one of the instantly killed. Damn it! he cried. It is not possible to reach the end of the passage before they release yet another volley!

A man behind him began to lunge at his foe, spear ready to strike. His foe deftly deflected the spear and cut off the end much to the mans surprise. You should really keep better care of your weapons, sah! They may end up breaking, like yours! He kicked the man in the stomach and onto his back with a swift knee to his stomach. Matsu ran seliuth mah! A blue air began to encircle his left hand, taking the form of a shield as he uttered a few more words. Bashing the man across his face with the soft blue light encircling his arm, he turned once more to face yet another man. Armed with a pitchfork, he soared through the air intent on making his tool a murderous weapon. Putting his newly found shield in the harms way, the blocker cut the mans weapon in half with a movement of his arm and caught the mans chest on his shield, and pinned him against a wall, effectively knocking the air out of him. He turned to face the bows once more, but found that he was too late as an arrow cut the flesh on his face as another pierced his leg.

Falling to one knee, he cut the arrowhead from the arrow that had pierced his leg and removed it with one swift motion, the pain sweeping through his body. Trying to rise, he fell with the pain in his leg. He felt a sharp pain on the back of his head, fell down, and became unaware of his surroundings. Youll burn in hell, you--! Heard a something sharp taste the blood of men, as the man stopped his sentence halfway and started sputtering blood into the ground.

Only you shall burn in hell, you foul creature! A female's voice rang through the cave, making all those who heard turn in horror, seeing their foe stand at the opposite end of the cavern. It sounded like it could be of a much gentler tone, but given the current conditions, it was a battle cry to stun unwary foes. More blades of flight had entered the body of his assailant, unknown whence from. It sounded like a knife going into a piece of meat, but only twenty times over as he heard a loud thud and saw a body of a large man appear from out of the shadows beside him on the earth. He did not see, but he knew that his eyes were still open in shock and disbelief.

He heard a man screaming as a sound kick was placed upon his back, flying through the air and into the wall with a resounding crack as his neck was broken in two, instantly killing the man as his sword clanged the wall right after him.

He heard even more pieces of metal fly by as the bows were snapped and broken, falling to the ground as wood from a tree, no more a weapon, as the women fled towards the caves entrance. The rest of the men followed them, some failing in their retreat as even more flying blades found their mark within their bodies. She looked around, and saw that they were alone.

Rynns the name, protections my game. Tis a dying shame they did not know, eh? He looked up, and saw only her piercing eyes. That was the last thing that he remembered.
