There were not enought Councillors for an election so the following nominations were thereby automatically installed.


STEPHEN CHILD
Born in Oxford 41 years ago. He moved to Lidgate in 1998  with Hilary his wife and Jack their son. He is a Food Technologist working as a Technical Manager for Tesco Head Office, based at Cheshunt, Herts. Visits food suppliers as a Tesco version of the 'man from del Monte'.He is a member of  The Star Quiz Team and the Lidgate Marquee Team and also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Like all scientists he is actually more interested in histroy. He lives at St. Alice's and can be reacehd on 10638 500345

ANTHONY FOREMAN
Anthony is a native of Lidgate with family going back to 1870 in the wheelwrighting and general building trade. After serving as a Priest in Cambridge, Norwich, Sudbury, Newmarket and Stowmarket he took early retirement. He produces the newslletter, organises this web site, local historian, co-ordinator of Neighbourhood Watch scheme, secretary of local Churches Together. A keen musician he is organist as his local church and and sings Tenor. He has also edited a history of the village - 'Happy Lidgate' and 'Letters from the Trenches'. Details on another page. CHRISTOPHER MORLEY
Chris lives and works in the village. A former teacher, education adviser and senior manager in the computer indsutry. He is now an ICT consultant. He and his wife Marilyn have lived in Lidgate for about six years and have two grown up children.

CAMERON WADE
Cameron is a recent village resident is married with young children and lives at Oak House.

RICHARD DEWHURST
Richard has been in the village for the last seven years and works locally in Bury St Edmunds. Sports abilities are generously described as mediocre despite this handicap, cricket, tennis and golf are sporadically attempted. May be seen hitting hot metal in the shed from time to time. Resides with Sandra, two barking dos and egg - free chickens. He lives at The Willows

JOHN WHITE FIELD
John is thirty eight years old and married to Sally. He has two cats and has lived in the village from 1981 - 1988 and from 1997 - 2003. His is the son of the last incumbant Vicar in the village. he played cricket for Lidgte since 1981 and somteimes as captain. He play rugby for Newmarket Rugby Club andf works in the Fire Protection industry.

CHRISTOPHER BLISS
Chris was born and brought up in Cambridge. He moved to Lidgate eight years and lives at Cobbolds View with his wife Rosemary and their two daughters Lily and Florence. He works in Cambridge where he has various food related businesses including  a cake manufacturing company that he currently manages. He is a member of the Star B Quiz team, a volunteer with the village marquee and helps run the evning classes held at the village hal in the spring and the autumn.

ELIZABETH  PITT
Liz has recently moved into the village and is the new Clerk to the Council and lives at 3 Hill Rise.


At a recent meeting Steve Child was re-elected chairman for another year, Anthony Foreman, Vice Chairman and Cameron Wade, Treasurer.
