It is all on at the moment, the club calendar may not be full most weekends, but there is some depth there.
Many members are involved with the Car Shows or the International
Convention.
As the various committees get together and sort out their tasks, they have the power to co-opt other members for specific purposes.
So far we have been very happy with the assistance offered.
The Car Show committee require assistance and would appreciate you putting your name forward to take on, or assist with the listed duties. Perhaps it may be the first time that you have been in a position to take on helping with a Club activity... but don't be daunted by the thought... give us a call!

The Internet site has had over 100 visitors this month, which by some standards is not great, but I think it's very encouraging. A look at the visitor analysis shows that the greatest number have been from Australia, but there have also been visitors from Sweden, Norway, The Nederlands and Canada among others.
I'm still looking for any Zephyr related information and articles for the site, and the Mag. - please, if you have anything that may be suitable, get in touch.
If any members without 'net access would like to have a look at the web site, just contact me and I'll be only too happy to show you how it works.
On another note - it appears that Club members have this month acquired another 3 Zephyrs / Zodiacs, including a very nice
Mk IV, - see next month's Mag. for the full story!

Club members will have received their Registration Forms and category information in the last two weeks, as have those from other clubs who had indicated a desire to attend. Information has also been sent to all other clubs in New Zealand and Australia.
We have, so far, registered over a dozen vehicles and with each one, notification that at least two adults will be attending the Convention. The committee is now planning on more than 100 Zephyrs, Zodiacs and Consuls being at the Convention and it is interesting to note that some very unique cars will be there.
The Convention logo has been finalised and will be available for our club members to see at the September club meeting. The logo is to be used for Convention car badges, on trophies and on printed material including a Convention T shirt - so it will be well displayed.
The committee are working on trophies, kits, name badges, which will be something special, and everything else needed to ensure the event runs smoothly.
The return of your completed Registration Form just as soon as possible would really help.

Colin and Janice thought it sounded interesting, and decided there was no harm in having a look at this one.... where have we heard that before?... and headed off to
Christchurch.
The Zephyr was proudly displayed on the lot next to a $65,000 BMW, and they both thought the Mk I was the better looking car.
With four previous owners, it was first registered in Christchurch, moved to Otematata for a while, and eventually returned to it's home city.
Having covered 142,000 miles, it was in very original condition, having had a repaint, and some minor upholstery repairs.
Needless to say, they managed to let the salesman sell it to them!
Since they have owned it, the only work needed has been a replacement gearbox seal, the car has been used only for local runs and shows, covering just over 1000 miles in that four year period, and runs perfectly.
Colin says there is nothing that needs doing to it, apart from maybe the addition of some wheel trims, and that he has no intention of selling it.
When not driving the MkI, or collecting Zephyr parts, Colin and Janice's other interests include model cars and craft work.
Colin says that they would eventually like to have a MkI, II, and III.
Surely you have missed one Colin?.... Ed.
