Sandblasting Cabinet "Garage Built" by me

Modeled after a name brand cabinet. After seeing the price tag, I decided to build one with a few modifications. Oh Yea.....bigger is better!

| The main box was constructed using 3/4" plywood skinned with 18 gauge sheet metal. The hopper was made with 1/2" plywood. I installed swivel casters for ease of movement around the shop. Keep in mind the completed weight of this monster! I used angle iron (actually it's old bed rails) for framing around the door, joints, the hopper, and to hold up the expanded metal floor. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

All the holes and seams were filled with a wood putty, sanded, and painted. It's hard to tell that this cabinet is made from just average 2X4's and plywood. I cut the top of the cabinet and recessed a piece of safety glass for lighting. I set 2 each 4 foot fluorescent shop lights above the glass. This will keep the lights out of the cabinet, and out of your way.

Below is a foot pedal I built for the cabinet. This pedal controls the amount of air to the nozzle, and will save the fatigue on your trigger finger! This is by far the best thing I've built.
