A year later in 1985, Jeff told me of another car that was supposedly a Boss. But upon further review we found out that it was a Mach 1. It was a shell, no engine , tranny,interior or wiring. I also found out the history of the car.
It was purchased in 70 for a girl in college, when she came back she met and married a man with another just like hers but was white. They sold it to a man who rebuilt the engine for straight line racing and had a reported 800 HP.
The car also had an all Boss undercarriage consisting of all boss front end and a quad shock rear end the car had also been dipped in acid to remove all factory paint and problems.
The car was then given to a friend after the car which was super fast, scarred the guy (who had a new baby ).
I struck a deal w/ the man and we towed and trucked all parts home and put together as many parts as we could and shipped it off to Todds Auto Body in Springfield.
A week later it was done and was totally awesome. It even brought in business when he parked it out side!!
I found an engine out of a tow truck and rebuilt it. It was a 351C I added the usual aluminum stuff and a light cam from Crane.
I then acquired a Borg and Warner 4 sp W/ Hurst shifter and got the wrong fly wheel and Bell housing which for the longest time gave me starter problems due the the Windsor and Cleveland clearances. I had to pull start it for over a year until I did so
checking on part numbers and swapped it out .
PROBLEM FIXED!
I did a title search and contacted the original owner and had all stories confirmed and even talker to her on the phone and we exchanged pictures, she was so happy because she had wandered what happened to the car.
My Step dad and I worked on the car and engine.
I promised to take my nephew home in it from the hospital.
Well It runs now and it was only 13 years late.

The reason being , I went to the drags and had to have my car like theirs and I pumped $1000 more into after I found some 70 closed chambered heads that had been reworked!!
I keep delaying getting it going cause I would work on it for a while and get pissed so I would back off and days some how crept into years.
When I did drive it, (Man that car has Balls)
I pulled the front end of the ground!! I am sure the 4:56 gears help.
HAHA I can even start of in 4 th and it wont die on me
