Select one of the five lettered exercises on pages 242-243 and
create a causal
chain to link one phenomenon to the other. Follow the model on
page 245 or sequence your effects horizontally. Your chain should have a
minimum of four effects (four arrows), the last effect being the consequence
listed in the right column on page 242 or 243. Beware oversimplification; it’s
better to have too many links than too few. Next, put your chain into paragraph
form making sure to express because relationships in a variety of ways (meaning
use a variety of constructions: owing to, on account of, due to, since,
consequently, etc.) and be prepared to justify why you feel certain effects
would be likely/probable if they don’t seem obvious.
Your total response should be no less than 150 words.
