CHRIS and DONNA'S
1950 FORD "KUSTOM"
Every community has someone who is recognized as an automotive artist and craftsman. The central Dakotas are blessed with many of these individuals who, through imagination and extraordinary skill, can transform an abandoned machine parked long ago in prairie grass into a work of rolling art. One of those persons is Chris.  Chris was a past owner of our coupe. He and his wife Donna's "kustom" is not featured because of that quirk of history, but because of my envy of his talent and creativity (and also because this car will knock your shorts off).
This 1950 2 door sedan was, I am sure, the pride and joy of a young family when purchased  50 years ago. Memories of good times and bad times, joy and sorrow, and dreams that may or may not have been fulfilled all became a part of this collection of steel, fabric, rubber, and chrome.
Chris and Donna have not only revived those memories but, also, have allowed us to go back a little in time when we all thought life was much simpler and to remember our own good and bad times, joy and sorrow, and our dreams that may have yet to be fulfilled.

The "kustom" has been substantially modified from when it rolled off the assembly line and spent many years on a Dakota prairie. Here are the details of Chris and Donna's creation:
