EXT - OBITING CALMIR’S MOON - SPACE                       1

A cargo ship brings supplies to WE’SEL’S Super Star Destroyer.

INT - SUPER STAR DESTROYER BRIDGE - SPACE                 2

A LIEUTENANT walks up to WE’SEL.

LIEUTENANT

Repairs are coming along as planned, Grand Moff. At this rate, she’ll be as good as new in four days.

WE’SEL

Three, Lieutenant.

LIEUTENANT

Three, sir? We’re already working as fast-

WE’SEL

You have THREE DAYS, Lieutenant. I have a score to settle with only a small window of opportunity. Is that clear?

LIEUTENANT

Yes, sir.

EXT - CALMIR’S MOON - NIGHT                               3

VAL sees a loosing war around him.

CARN (O.S.)

NO, ASTER! DON’T YOU LEAVE ME!!

CARN holds a dying ASTER. RASHA, CORRIN, BIPH, AKBHAR, and LILY fail to fend off the advancing army.

TABOON, a blue alien carrying many relics, steps in front of VAL.

TABOON

(Echo)

You know what must be done.

EXT - AN EMPTY DESERT - DAY                               4

VAL finds a buried box, opens it, and sees a hologram of himself.

VAL’S HOLOGRAM

You know what must be done.

EXT - UNCHARTED SPACE - SPACE                             5

VAL sits in his X-Wing, looking at a large space ship.

VOICE (Echoed)

This ship... To avert disaster...

VAL

Disaster? What disaster?

EXT – ASTEROID FIELD - SPACE                              6

VAL sees a starship battle sky between the Heroes and the Empire. A derelict ship explodes.

INT - MARATHON MED BAY - NIGHT                            7

VAL wakes. A medical droid turns to VAL.

MED-DROID

Another bad dream sir?

VAL

No. The same one.

MED-DROID

Perhaps something to help you relax?

The MED-DROID injects VAL.

VAL

Ow! A little warning would've been nice.

MED-DROID

Had I warned you sir, would you have let give it to you?

VAL

'Course not.

RASHA enters.

RASHA

Not that same dream again?

VAL

Yes. It keeps growing more vivid.

RASHA

What are you going to do?

VAL

I will be patient.

INT - MARATHON DOCKING BAY - DAY                          9

CORRIN, LILY, BIPH, and other PILOTS and TECHS enter.

CORRIN

Good job out there, boys and girls. Teak, I need you to recalibrate my inertial dampeners, I’m still getting a little resistance.

TECH 1

Will do, boss.

BIPH

Or maybe you could fly with a few less ‘G’s on your back.

CORRIN

Can’t do that, Biph.

CORRIN exits.

BIPH

Hey, Lil, want to grab a bite?

LILY

Sorry, bud, I have to file my report. Maybe later.

BIPH

I’ll hold you to that.

LILY exits.

PILOT 1

Hey, Biph. Are we still on for tonight?

BIPH

You know it. The boss don’t have a clue.

PILOT 2

Invite him last.

BIPH

I’m one step ahead of you.

INT - MARATHON MED BAY - DAY                              10

VAL hurriedly dresses, gathering supplies.

RASHA

We’ve been invited to a party for Corrin. You must come.

VAL

I can’t. I have to go. You go ahead without me.

RASHA

But-

VAL

I’m finally beginning to understand these visions. I have to go. Don’t tell anyone until I’ve already left.

VAL exits.

INT - MARATHON BASE CORRIDOR - EVENING                    11

CORRIN walks. RASHA enters.

CORRIN

Rasha, what is it?

RASHA

It’s Val. He’s gone.

CORRIN

Gone? Gone where?

RASHA

He didn’t say. He wouldn’t let me go with him. He told me to find you and tell you.

CORRIN

Did he take the Codex with him?

RASHA

He did. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t stop him! He wanted you to be the first to know.

CORRIN

At least he’s honest. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s being lied to.

INT - LILY’S QUARTERS - EVENING                           12

KAEL talks to a hologram of WE’SEL.

WE’SEL

The repairs are finished, My Lady. The plans are in motion.

KAEL

Excellent. Play your part, Grand Moff, and you will be greatly rewarded. I will proceed with the assassination as planned. Transmission end.

KAEL becomes LILY. CORRIN knocks on the door.

CORRIN (O.S.)

Are you about done with that report?

LILY

I am.

The door opens, LILY exits.

EXT - ORBITING WRUNTID - SPACE                            14

VAL sits in his X-Wing gazing down to the planet. His R2 unit beeps at him, and the translation generates on his screen.

VAL

Yes, I’m sure this is the place. (R2 Beeps) Relax. I know what I’m doing. Give me manual control.

EXT - WRUNTID SURFACE - DAY                               15

VAL steps out of his X-Wing. He sees nothing but barren rocks and deserts. He begins walking.

INT - MARATHON BASE CORRIDOR - DAY                        13

CORRIN and LILY walk.

CORRIN

There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you.

BIPH enters.

BIPH

Hey, boss. Have you heard? They’re promoting you to Major. After your victory at Barakine, the Brass are bumping you up! The boys are putting together a big dinner tonight in your honor.

CORRIN

This can’t be good.

LILY

It sounds like fun. And it’s about time the Brass started noticing you.

CORRIN

That’s funny. I thought it was our job NOT to get noticed.

BIPH exits.

LILY

Now, what was it you were going to ask me?

CORRIN

It’s nothing that can’t wait.

Alarm.

LILY

The guests are arriving.

INT - MARATHON HANGER - DUSK                              17

CORRIN & LILY wait. CARN, ASTER, & AKBAHR enter.

CARN

Hey, guys. Long time no see, eh?

CORRIN

What are you doing here, Deadeye?

CARN

We were invited. Didn’t you send for us?

CORRIN

I didn’t. But that doesn’t mean you’re not welcome.

ASTER

Lily! How are you?

LILY

I’m good, Aster. How about yourself? Keeping Carn on a tight leash?

ASTER

You know it.

AKBAHR

So, where’s the party?

PLAN B enters.

PLAN B

Hello.

CORRIN

They invited you, too?

CARN

Where’d you get the ship?

PLAN B

Dathon build it for me.

AKBAHR

Now the party can begin!

EXT - WRUNTID WASTELANDS - DAY                            18

VAL finds a buried box. He opens it. A Hologram of VAL speaks to him.

VAL’S HOLOGRAM

Salutations, Val Lainli. Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you, this information is vital to avert disaster. You know what must be done…

INT - MARATHON MESS HALL - EVENING                        19

ALL HEROES sit and eat.

BIPH

Ladies and Gentlemen, critters of all species. Thank you for coming. The reason you’ve all been invited is because we finally got a real chef here at Marathon Base.

COOK

Hey!

BIPH

I, of course, say this now because there is about, ah, (counts heads) 14 of you highly trained soldiers between me and Cookie. I’d say it to his face, but I’d loose mine.

COOK

And don’t you forget it!

BIPH

I won’t. I’ve spent more hours in the med-bay after critiquing your food than actually eating it. But honestly, the real reason you’re all here is for our good friend, Captain Corrin Wyndryder. There isn’t a man in this room whose life hasn’t been saved at least once by him. There are those who should be here who aren’t. I am glad I’m not one of them. I owe him more than I can ever repay. To Captain Wyndryder, don’t ever change.

ALL cheer.

CORRIN

It’s an honor to see all your faces again. I’d ask who invited you all here, but I don’t think that’s necessary. Now that you’re all here, I guess it’s as good a time as any to announce my engagement to the lovely, intelligent, graceful, and wonderful Lily Guire. That is, of course, if she’ll have me?

LILY

Yes, of course I will.

LILY kisses CORRIN. ALL cheer.

CARN

(Whisper)

You know, maybe we should get married, too.

ASTER

(Whisper)

If that was your attempt at a proposal, you’ve got to do a LOT better than that, buster.

PALTETH

Captain Wyndryder it is the judgment of the Republic Naval Command, that due to your expert and precise service, that you be promoted to the rank of Major. I know your Father would be proud.

PALTETH pins the rank on CORRIN. They both salute.

PALTETH (CONT’D)

Congratulations. Today is a great day for you, Corrin. You live in a truly blessed time. The ideals of the Old Republic are resurfacing. Your work has helped bring that to pass. You have earned every honor you are receiving here tonight. You have my blessing, Corrin, and you have the blessings of the Jedi Order. May the Force grant you a long and happy life together.

They shake hands.

CORRIN

Thank you, Master.

PALTETH

Which brings me to MY announcement. Corrin, your devotion, hard work, and natural talents have come to fruition. The Jedi Order confers on you the rank of Jedi Knight.

ALL cheer.

LILY

That’s so wonderful! Congratulations!

PALTETH

It was both an honor and a privilege to have been your teacher. I only wish your father could have been here to tell you himself.

A SOLDIER enters.

SOLDIER

(Whisper)

General Palteth, there is call on the comm. He requested to speak with you by name.

PALTETH

(Whisper)

Did you get his name?

SOLDIER

(Whisper)

Val Lainli, sir.

PALTETH

I am afraid I have to leave you all for now. I will return shortly.

PALTETH and SOLDIER exit.

CARN

(To ASTER) What do you think that was about?

ASTER

I don’t know.

RASHA

He said something about Val.

CARN

Are you sure?

RASHA

These ears aren’t just for looking cute, you know.

AKBAHR

They’re not? They do such a good job of that. (PAUSE) What?!

CARN

If it’s about Val, I should know.

ASTER

If it’s about military business, you shouldn’t know. You could get into serious trouble if you’re caught.

CARN

I’m just going to find the ‘Fresher. (PAUSE) That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

CARN EXITS.

LILY

Well, Corrin, aren’t you going to follow him?

CORRIN

Follow him? Why?

LILY

Jedi business. He went to talk with Val.

CORRIN

How do you know that?

LILY

7 years of lip reading and you still have to ask me that?

CORRIN exits. CARN follows.

AKBAHR

This party keeps gettin’ better all the time.

INT - MARATHON COMMUNICATIONS - EVENING                   20

VAL speaks to PALTETH, audio only.

VAL (O.S.)

Terran? Good. I was hoping I would reach you.

PALTETH

Val, I sense something is wrong. What is it?

CORRIN enters. PALTETH doesn’t see him.

VAL (O.S.)

Something terrible is about to happen. I’m going to need your help.

CORRIN

What can we do?

PALTETH turns around.

VAL (O.S.)

Corrin? Is that you?

CORRIN

We missed you at the party.

VAL (O.S.)

I am sorry about that, Corrin. This matter concerns the Jedi. You needn’t be involved.

CORRIN

If it concerns the Jedi, then I am involved.

(PAUSE)

VAL (O.S.)

Then I do not know whether to offer my congratulations or my condolences. You join us at the worst possible time.

PALTETH

He joins us when we need him the most.

VAL (O.S.)

Perhaps, Master. Perhaps.

CORRIN

Where are you, Val?

VAL (O.S.)

I’m not sure. The Force is guiding me now.

CARN enters.

CARN

Hey, Val! Is that you?

VAL (O.S.) & CORRIN & PALTETH

Carn?!

CARN

What?! I made a wrong turn looking for the ‘Fresher. Honest!

PALTETH

He might as well be here, too. If what you have foreseen is destined to transpire, we will need all the help we can get.

VAL (O.S.)

I agree.

CORRIN

What do we need to do?

INT - MARATHON MESS HALL - NIGHT                          21

CORRIN, CARN, and PALTETH enter.

PALTETH

You two return to the party. I have preparations to make.

CARN and CORRIN exit.

INT - MARATHON MESS HALL - NIGHT                          23

CORRIN enters.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

May I have this dance, My Dear?

LILY

Of course.

CORRIN and LILY dance. CARN and ASTER dance.

EXT - A BALCONY - NIGHT                                   24

BIPH steps out onto a balcony. RASHA follows him.

RASHA

Aren’t you going to join the dance?

BIPH

Eh. The boss is really good at these sort of things. I’m not. I da’ know how he puts up with all that tedious civility.

BIPH smokes a Death Stick.

RASHA

I guess that’s why you stay in the transport, huh?

BIPH

You guessed it, cutie. (He looks at his Death Stick) I’m sorry, I didn’t ask.

RASHA

I don’t mind. You go right ahead.

BIPH

You sure?

RAHSA shakes her head.

INT - MARATHON MESS HALL - NIGHT                          25

A sniper targets CORRIN.

CORRIN

There’s a sniper targeting me.

LILY

I don’t see anyone.

CORRIN blocks the sniper’s blast with his Lightsaber. RAE’CHELL enters and duels CORRIN. Others draw weapons.

LILY

Hold your fire! You’ll hit Corrin!

RAE’CHELL breaks CORRIN’S lightsaber and defeats him.

RAE’CHELL

(To CORRIN) Where is the Jedi named Val?

BIPH and RASHA enter.

RASHA

CORRIN!

RAE’CHELL telekinetically throws RASHA.

RAE’CHELL

(To CORRIN) Where is he?!

LILY

(Dathomir)

Hail, Nightsister.

RAE’CHELL

(Dathomir)

You speak the old tongue.

LILY

(Dathomir)

All sisters do.

RAE’CHELL

(Dathomir)

Then you understand why I’m here.

LILY

(Dathomir)

Honor. Vendetta. Of course I understand. But this Jedi is not your target. He is under MY protection. Val is away on a quest.

RAE’CHELL lets CORRIN go. CARN shoots at RAE’CHELL. She escapes.

CARN

And don’t come back!

LILY

What part of ‘Hold Your Fire’ didn’t you understand?!

EXT - A CANYON OVERHANG - NIGHT                           26

RAE’CHELL bandages her arm.

RAE’CHELL

…Filthy male…

INT - MARATHON MESS HALL - NIGHT                          27

CORRIN

What was that all about?

LILY

That was Rae’Chell, a Nightsister of Dathomir.

RASHA

What did she want with my master?

LILY

A Dek’Sha, a Duel of Honor.

RASHA

She’s going to kill him? And you let her go?!

LILY

Sorry, Rasha. I was a little preoccupied with saving my fiancee.

PALTETH enters.

PALTETH

And we will get to Val before that happens.

LATER:

INT - CARN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                             28

ASTER and CARN enter.

ASTER

What’s this about, love?

CARN

You told me that if I was going to propose I had to try a lot harder.

CARN gives ASTER a ring.

CARN (CONT’D)

I hope this is good enough. Asterilla Nemur, will you marry me?

ASTER

Yeah, that’s good enough. Yes, Carn Torrin, I will.

ASTER takes the ring and kisses CARN.

INT - A STARSHIP CORRIDOR - SPACE                         28

PLAN B stands alone. AKBAHR and RASHA enter.

RASHA

(To PLAN B) Hello. I don’t think I ever found out your name.

PLAN B

Ask me some other time. (To AKBAHR) Take good care of her.

AKBAHR

Of course.

PLAN B exits.

AKBAHR (CONT’D)

I think he likes you.

INT - CORRIN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                           29

CORRIN sits alone, looking at his broken lightsaber.

FLASHBACK:

EXT - WYNDRYDER HOMESTEAD - DAY                           30

DAIS sits. YOUNG CORRIN plays with his toys. YOUNG CORRIN telekinetically grabs one of his toys.

DAIS

No, Corrin, no. You mustn’t ever do that again.

YOUNG CORRIN

Why not?

DAIS

I know this may be hard to understand now, but it’s not safe. If the Emperor ever found out what you can do, he’d take you away from me. He’d do terrible things to you.

YOUNG CORRIN

Why would he do that?

DAIS

Because the Empire is evil. They have no tolerance for the old ways.

YOUNG CORRIN

The old ways?

DAIS

I’ll tell you a story when you’re older. I promise. But until then, you promise me something. Promise me you’ll never show ANYONE what I’ve taught you. Promise?

YOUNG CORRIN

I promise, Dad.

DAIS

That’s a good boy.

PALTETH enters.

PALTETH

General Wyndryder.

PALTETH and DAIS salute.

DAIS

Yes, Major? What is it?

PALTETH

We have been hit hard, sir. We have been routed from our base on Hoth. The Alliance needs experienced officers to lead. We need you back, sir.

DAIS

Major, I’ve served my time. I have my son to think about. I don’t know what I would do without him.

PALTETH

This is not about your military contract. This is about restoring freedom to the galaxy. And does not the Code of the Jedi require Jedi to fight evil in all its forms?

DAIS

I am not a Jedi, Terran. I never completed my training. You know that.

PALTETH

Your wife did. She believed in the Code.

DAIS

And now she’s dead. And I watched, powerless, as Vader slaughtered her without mercy or remorse. Tell me, what good did the Code do for her then?

PALTETH

I am sorry, sir. I did not mean to cause you pain. (PAUSE) If the Alliance fails now, your wife will have died for nothing. General, please. We need you.

DAIS

Very well, I will accompany you.

YOUNG CORRIN

Daddy, are you going away again?

DAIS

I’m afraid so, Corrin. The Good Guys need me back. Now, I don’t know when I’ll see you again. You’ll have to go with the Major. He’ll take you somewhere where you’ll be safe.

YOUNG CORRIN

You’ll fight the Emperor for me?

DAIS

I promise.

PALTETH

You have an intelligent child there, sir.

DAIS

He gets that from his mother.

DAIS exits. He enters with his uniform and lightsaber.

PALTETH

A reminder of old times?

DAIS

A reminder of better times.

FLASHFORWARD:

INT - CORRIN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                           31

DAIS

(Echo)

Of better times…

LILY knocks on the door.

LILY

Corrin, are you in there?

CORRIN

Yes, come in.

LILY enters.

LILY

What’s wrong?

CORRIN

I failed, Lily. I failed. My first trial as a Jedi, and I failed.

LILY

You stood your ground against an enemy greater than yourself. You were unafraid, even when she was ready to kill you. You didn’t fail.

CORRIN

But I needed you to save me.

LILY

Since when have you been independent? You’ve saved my life more times than I care to count. Of course I saved you. I love you. I wasn’t about to let you get out of marrying me that easily.

CORRIN laughs. LILY smiles.

LILY (CONT’D)

We’ve rendezvoused with Val.

INT - MON CALMARI CRUISER BRIDGE - SPACE                  32

PALTETH sits. CARN and ASTER stand. CORRIN and LILY enter. CORRIN has his father’s lightsaber hooked on his belt.

PALTETH’S Cruiser stops just outside of an asteroid field.

ASTER

What is this place?

LILY

The Graveyard.

CORRIN

(To Himself) Alderaan.

(PAUSE)

PALTETH

Val. Val, are you there? Do you read me?

VAL (O.S.)

Loud and clear. It sure is good to see you gentlemen.

VAL’S SHIP stops in front of the Cruiser. RASHA, BIPH, AKBAHR, and PLAN B enter. A derelict ship drifts into view.

VAL (CONT’D) (O.S.)

General, do you see that?

PALTETH

Affirmative. What do you make of it?

VAL

The Empire scoured the debris for any survivors. It’s unlikely they missed this ship. It must have arrived here afterward.

PALTETH

(To CREW) Commander, launch a probe droid to investigate.

CREW

Aye sir, launching now. (PAUSE) Transmission coming in, sir. Probe Droid A-34 reports that the air levels are sufficient for a boarding party, but the main power has been deactivated. It is unable to access the database.

PALTETH

This is your call, Val. What do you suggest?

VAL (O.S.)

I’ve seen this ship before, Terran. This is what the Force has been guiding me to. I’m going in.

PALTETH

Major Wyndryder, take your team down and join Val. He’s going to need a hand.

CORRIN

Aye General. Lieutenant Guire, Corporal Ddooge.

CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH exit.

PALTETH

Yes, Carn, you and your friends may go, too.

CARN

Yes, sir.

AKBAHR

I have a seriously bad feeling about this.

CARN, ASTER, AKBAHR, RASHA, and PLAN B exit.

INT - MIRAGE DOCKING BAY - SPACE                          34

The HEROES enter. VAL enters with his new ship.

CARN

Whoa, Val. Where’d you get that?

VAL

Long story. Come on.

They exit.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           34

ALL enter.

BIPH

This way.

They follow BIPH. VAL and RASHA exit one way. ALL others exit another way. No one sees RAE’CHELL stalking them.

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                35

BIPH enters, followed by the others. He activates the power.

INT - MON CALMARI CRUISER BRIDGE - SPACE                  37

The droid starts transmitting data to CREW.

CREW

General Palteth, they’ve reactivated the main power core. The droid has resumed transmission.

PALTETH

Go on.

CREW

It has been abandoned for several months. There is… Sir, the Probe reports a third ship has docked. There’s someone else onboard.

PALTETH

Patch me through to Major Wyndryder.

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                38

CORRIN

(To PALTETH) I’ve sensed no one. Are you certain, Master?

PALTETH (O.S.)

Yes, be very careful.

CORRIN

We have an intruder onboard. Akbahr, you and, uh, him, search that way.

AKBAHR and PLAN B exit.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

Carn, you and Aster go that way.

CARN and ASTER exit.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

Lily, you stay here with Biph. I’ll go find Val.

CORRIN exits.

INT - MON CALMARI CRUISER BRIDGE - SPACE                  39

Alarm.

CREW

General! We’ve got incoming.

WE’SEL’S SSD  and two ISDs enter.

WE’SEL (O.S.)

This is Grand Moff We’Sel of the Imperial Navy. You are trespassing in Imperial Space. That vessel is the property of the Empire. If you do not leave this system immediately, we will destroy the vessel along with everyone on board!

PALTETH

I should have expected this. Commander, launch all fighters, move into attack position. We have got to give Lainli as much time as possible.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           40

CORRIN holds a comlink.

PALTETH (O.S.)

Corrin, we’ve got company. You know what to do.

CORRIN

(To PALTETEH) Yes, Master. (To BIPH) Biph, set the explosives.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           41

VAL and RASHA walk. CORRIN enters.

VAL

Corrin? What is it?

CORRIN

We’ve got company. Biph is setting the explosives as we speak.

VAL

I don't know why I've been lead here, yet.

CORRIN

You've got five minutes...

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           42

PLAN B and AKBAHR search down the corridor.

AKBAHR

You know, I feel a LOT safer being partnered with you.

PLAN B

Good.

AKBAHR

You like Rasha, don’t you? (PAUSE) She is cute. Playful, too. She just isn’t the type to make a commitment, ya see. She’ll flirt and tease, but…

PLAN B

But what?

AKBAHR

She’s really hard to read. I think she likes Val, but it’s hard to tell sometimes. You know women.

AKBAHR disappears.

PLAN B

Akbahr? Akbahr?

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           43

RAE’CHELL holds AKBAHR against his will.

RAE’CHELL

Where's Val?

AKBAHR

Eat slag, witch.

RAE’CHELL hits AKBAHR. She uses a Mind Trick

RAE’CHELL

(Filtered, Slowly)

Where is Val?

AKBAHR

(Zombie)

He’s on this ship somewhere. He left the group.

RAE’CHELL jettisons AKBAHR in an escape pod.

INT - STARSHIP DOCKING BAY - SPACE                        45

AKBAHR’S escape pod enters the docking bay. PALTETH enters.

PALTETH

Akbahr? What happened?

AKBAHR

It was that witch. The one that’s after Val.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           46

CARN and ASTER search. RAE’CHELL sneaks past them.

CARN

I heard something.

ASTER uses her eyepiece. RAE’CHELL moves some debris.

ASTER

(Pointing)

THERE!

CARN shoots the debris. RAE’CHELL hits CARN from behind with Force Lightning. CARN goes flying into a wall.

ASTER

CARN!!

ASTER turns around. RAE’CHELL charges ASTER and swings her Sith Sword. ASTER leans back. With one swing, RAE’CHELL cuts ASTER’S blaster and eyepiece in half.

RAE’CHELL

I’ll save you for later.

RAE’CHELL exits. ASTER runs over to CARN.

CARN

I feel terrible.

ASTER

I thought she killed you. How’d you survive that?

CARN

Don’t ask.

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                47

BIPH sets up his detonators around the Reactor.

LILY

Are those explosives about ready, Biph?

BIPH

Sure thing, Lil. Just a sec.

INT - DERELECT ALTER ROOM - SPACE                         48

VAL, RASHA, and CORRIN enter. An alter stands in the middle of the room. Cords cover the floor.

RASHA

What is this?

VAL

This is what I’ve been led to find.

RAE’CHELL enters.

CORRIN

You again?

CORRIN draws his lightsaber.

RAE’CHELL

You’ve found yourself beneath my blade once, Jedi. If you dare stand in my way again, I will kill you, regardless of the other Sister’s wishes. I’m here for Val.

CORRIN

Then you’ll have to go through me first.

RASHA

Then me.

RAE’CHELL duels CORRIN & RASHA. VAL stops RAE’CHELL.

VAL

Rae’Chell, Daughter of Rae’Kal, is your honor really worth more than your life? You were no match for me then. If you think you’re better now, don't waste your life in trying to find out. Put down your weapon, I won't fight you.

The ship rocks violently.

CORRIN

They’re firing at us!

RAE’CHELL

WHO?

VAL

The Empire.

EXT - ALDERAAN GRAVEYARD - SPACE                          49

Swarms of TIEs engage the Republic fighters.

PILOT

Protect that ship at all costs.

A TIE Bomber bombs the hull of the ship.

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                50

The ship shakes. The detonator timer begins counting down.

BIPH

Oh-

LILY

-Blast!

INT - DERELICT ALTER ROOM - SPACE                         51

The entire ship shakes.

RAE’CHELL

No! This isn’t how it’s supposed to happen!

VAL

Nothing ever is. We are completely surrounded by Imperial Forces. We are going to destroy this ship, and we are all going to escape. NOW PUT YOUR WEAPON DOWN!!

RAE’CHELL puts her weapon down.

BIPH (O.S.)

BOSS? BOSS?!

CORRIN gets his comlink.

CORRIN

Yeah, Biph? What’s wrong?

BIPH (O.S.)

The bombing started the timer. We’ll never get out of here in time.

VAL

We need more time. Corrin, help Biph disarm the bomb. Rasha, find the others.

CORRIN and RASHA exit. VAL looks at the Alter.

VOICE

(In VAL’S head)

It is the only way to save your friends.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           52

ASTER bandages CARN’S head.

ASTER

You’re lucky your head’s so hard.

CARN

I love you, too.

RASHA enters.

CARN (CONT’D)

Rasha!

RASHA

Are you two all right?

ASTER

We’ll be fine. The Nightsister did this.

RASHA

I know. I’ve got to find the others. Wait here.

CARN

No problem.

RASHA exits.

INT - DERELECT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           53

RASHA enters. She finds PLAN B.

RASHA

What is it?

PLAN B

Akbahr’s gone. I can’t find him.

The entire ship rocks. RASHA falls into PLAN B’S arms. The ship stabilizes. PLAN B lets go and takes a step back.

RASHA

We had better find him.

They exit.

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                54

CORRIN enters. LILY and BIPH look at him, hopelessly.

INT - DERELICT ALTER ROOM - SPACE                         55

VAL is drawn closer to the Alter.

RAE’CHELL

Val? Val, what are you doing?

VAL places the Codex in the Alter.

VOICE

(Maniacal Laughter)

Thank you, Val Lainli. Thank you.

INT - STARSHIP BRIDGE - SPACE                             56

PALTETH watches the ship from his chair. AKBAHR stands next to him.

PALTETH

What’s taking them so long?

The SSD, the ISDs, and the derelict ship explode in a blinding flash of light. When PALTETH and AKBAHR can see again, their ships are the only ones left.

AKBAHR

They’re… gone…

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                57

CORRIN, BIPH, and LILY freeze in place.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           58

CARN and ASTER freeze in place.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           59

RASHA and PLAN B freeze in place.

INT - DERELICT ALTER ROOM - SPACE                         60

VAL and RAE’CHELL freeze in place. They suddenly return to normal. VAL removes the Codex from the Alter.

VAL

What, exactly, just happened?

RAE’CHELL

The bombing… It stopped.

VAL runs out of the room, followed by RAE’CHELL.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           61

ASTER bandages CARN. VAL and RAE’CHELL enter.

CARN

Val, behind you!

VAL

I’ll explain later. It’s okay now.

CARN

It’s okay now? She fries me with a bolt of lightning and it’s okay now?!

RAE’CHELL

He started it. He shot me first.

VAL

I don’t have time for this.

VAL and RAE’CHELL exit.

INT - MAIN REACTOR - SPACE                                62

CORRIN

(To BIPH) Can you defuse it?

BIPH

I made these explosives. I know everything there is to know about them.

CORRIN

But can you defuse it?

BIPH

I don’t know.

BIPH lights up a Death Stick. VAL and RAE’CHELL enter.

CORRIN

We have a situation here, Val. The charges are set, we don’t have enough time to evacuate, and Rasha can’t find Akbahr.

VAL

I don’t have time for that now. Biph, how are the explosives.

BIPH

I don’t know. I just don’t know.

RAE’CHELL

You’re smoking? At a time like this?

BIPH

It helps me relax.

RAE’CHELL

RELAX!?!

CORRIN

YOU are the one who came to kill Val. You are the one who has complicated this situation. Now we are down a man, another is heavily wounded, and it’s all because of YOU! So, if you don’t mind, let the man work to save YOUR SORRY HIDE!!!

BIPH

Note to self, always remember how to defuse my own charges.

LILY

Just make sure we live to use that information.

BIPH drops his lit Death Stick into the device. It burns through a wire, stopping the timer.

BIPH

I never thought these things would save my life.

VAL

Good. Crisis avoided. Where’s Rasha?

VAL and RAE’CHELL exit.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           63

RASHA and PLAN B look for AKBAHR. VAL and RAE’CHEL enter.

RASHA

Val, we can’t find Akbahr. He won’t answer his comlink.

RAE’CHELL

You won’t find him. I jettisoned him in a pod.

VAL

In the middle of a fire fight?

RAE’CHELL

He made it your ship. I watched.

VAL

Fine. Now, are you two all right?

RASHA

I’m okay.

PLAN B nods. RAE’CHELL looks out the window.

VAL

Good. Now let’s get everyone together. (To RAE’CHELL) Rae’Chell? Rae’Chell, what is it? What do you see?

VAL sees ALDERAAN.

VAL (CONT’D)

I have a very bad feeling about this.

INT - CALMIR’S ALTER CHAMBER - SPACE                      64

CALMIR removes the Addius Vaquila from the Alter. SETT stands beside him.

CALMIR

'Tis truly a beautiful thing, Sett, to finally achieve what you’ve worked for, for so long.

SETT

I will know that, when Wyndryder is dead.

CALMIR

That is Kael’s prey, my son. Your prey is of a different nature. Do you remember who they are?

SETT

Every name, father.

INT - SUPER STAR DESTROYER HALL - SPACE                   65

CALMIR and SETT enter. WE’SEL stands waiting.

WE'SEL

I have completed the refits on the TIE Fighters, installed the null scan field generator on Sett's ship, and prepped your shuttle for deployment at your command. Also, your prototypes are ready for inspection.

CALMIR

Excellent. And the bodies, did you do as I asked?

WE'SEL

To the letter, your Highness. Our friends are going to have the surprise of their lives.

CALMIR

Good. You may set your course for the Onderon system.

WE'SEL

Very good, your Excellency.

WE'SEL exits.

CALMIR

And you, Sett, have you finished your preparations?

SETT

Yes Father, but I--

CALMIR

'Master', in public, Sett.

SETT

You have never made my lineage a secret.

CALMIR

Some things are just… proper.

SETT

Yes, Master. But I fail to see where you’re plans are leading.

CALMIR

You do not see, because you look too closely.      Focus your emotions. Search for the bigger picture. Look not just for the plot, but for the plot within the plot. Think…

(PAUSE)

SETT

Carn.

CALMIR

Your insight serves you well.

SETT

Master, I don't understand. You tried once before to recruit him, and it didn't work, why are you trying again?

CALMIR

Calheir Sett, I have never stopped recruiting him. He was alone and confused before, the perfect state to introduce new ideas. It is necessary for him to bounce back and forth until he chooses to be at my side. For Carn to be a true asset, he must be all mine. I now begin phase two of his training.

INT - DERELICT CORRIDOR - SPACE                           66

ASTER finishes bandaging CARN. VAL, RASHA, PLAN B, and RAE’CHELL enter.

CARN

So, what’s all the excitement?

VAL

We have a very interesting problem. Look out the window.

CARN looks out the window.

VAL (CONT’D)

It’s Alderaan.

ASTER

But that’s impossible. It was destroyed. It can’t be Alderaan.

CORRIN, BIPH, and LILY enter.

CORRIN

Have you seen…?

VAL

Yeah. We saw.

RASHA

Do you think it was that Alter?

VAL

I did sense a shift in the Force. It is possible.

CORRIN

Alter? Val, what did you do!?

RAE'CHELL

It's complicated…

CARN

So let me get this straight...you somehow recreated Alderaan?

CORRIN

But that wouldn't explain why we can't reach the General, or any Republic ships.

LILY

Or why the Star Destroyers are gone.

VAL

So we’re alone, orbiting a planet that shouldn’t even be here. Any suggestions?

BIPH

I say we go an’ see what’s down there.

VAL

Agreed.

INT - MIRAGE I DOCKING BAY - SPACE                        67

EVERYONE but VAL and RAE’CHELL enter the DEATHWIND.

VAL

Rae’Chell, until we find out exactly what’s going on, I propose that we put our differences aside. We’ll need each other's help.

RAE’CHELL

I’m not ignorant. Until this problem is resolved I will not endanger myself. I will help you. But when this is over, Dek’Sha must be satisfied.

VAL

Fair enough.

VAL and RAE’CHELL enter the DEATHWIND.

INT - CARI’S CHAMBER - DAY                                69

Inside a meditation chamber in her home, CARI MERIMURA, a female Jedi Knight, kneels before a hologram of ALBON, the Leader of the Jedi Council.

ALBON

Cari Merimura, The Jedi Council has sensed a great disturbance in the Force near your vicinity. Proceed with caution. We sense there may be several persons responsible, if so, bring them before the Council as soon as you can. Try a peaceful approach, but use any means necessary.

CARI

Yes, Master Albon.

ALBON

May the Force be with you.

ALBON’S hologram disappears. CARI exits.

EXT - OUTSIDE CARI’S HOME - DAY                           70

CARI exits her home in the forest. She looks up to see the DEATHWIND. SETT enters the forest clearing.

CARI

Who are you?

SETT duels CARI. SETT mortally wounds CARI. He reads her mind, changes his symbiot to look like her, then kills her.

SETT (V.O.)

So, I am to take them to the Jedi Council.

SETT’S voice mimics CARI’S.

CARI

Sounds simple enough.

CARI exits.

EXT - ALDERAAN CITY DOCKINGBAY - DAY                      71

The DEATHWIND lands. ALL enter. CARN hobbles on a walking stick next to SQUEAKER. An ATTENDANT enters.

ATTENDANT

Welcome to Alderaan, travelers. My, you dress most strangely. Might I inquire as to where you hale from?

CORRIN

Lily, would you do the honors?

LILY

(To CORRIN) Of course, my dear. (To ATTENDANT) We have traveled a great distance. Tell us, what is this place?

ATTENDANT

You come all this way and don’t know where you are? Why this is Alder, Capital City of Alderaan.

LILY

Of course I do. My companion and I are from Coruscant. We picked up these travelers in our journeys beyond the Outer Rim. They’re new to this place. We have been gone for some years now. Tell me, what news from the Core Worlds?

ATTENDENT

Being from the Outer Rim, I thought you’d have already known. There have been rumors of an uprising from the Naddists.

LILY

I was unaware. There is a great deal more beyond the Outer Rim than you may realize. My colleagues and I were fortunate enough not to become involved.

ATTENDANT

You’re lucky. Please, feel free to explore our lovely city.

LILY

We will.

ATTENDANT exits.

CORRIN

Very smooth, Lily.

RASHA

I’ve never seen someone lie so fluently.

LILY

It isn’t easy.

VAL

Aster, take Carn and scout out the news. We’ll need more information. Try not to attract too much attention. Corrin, Lily, come with me.

CARN, ASTER, and SQEAKER exit.

RASHA

(To VAL) Where are you going?

VAL

I don’t know yet. I sense a disturbance in the Force. Somehow, I feel this is only the beginning.

RAE’CHELL

I’m going with you.

VAL, CORRIN, LILY, and RAE’CHELL exit.

BIPH

Come on, Cutie. I scouted out a bar over that way. I’ll buy you a drink.

BIPH, PLAN B, and RASHA exit.

EXT - ALDERAAN COMMONS - DAY                              72

In the middle of a crowded courtyard stands a booth. ASTER, CARN, and SQUEAKER enter. They walk to the booth.

ASTER

Fine mess we’ve gotten ourselves into now. I thought this was going to be a simple mission.

CARN

Hey, don’t worry about it. I’ve gotten us out of every situation that we’ve ever been in.

ASTER

Well. Those were your fault in the first place.

CARN

Yeah, well, that’s a minor point. What are you really worrying about?

ASTER

How are we going to get married now?

CARN

I’ll find a way. I always do.

ASTER kisses CARN.

CARN (CONT’D)

Check the current events.

ASTER

Carn, take a look at the date.

INT - ALDERAAN BAR - DAY                                  73

RASHA and PLAN B sit. BIPH smokes outside.

RASHA

You wanted me to ask you your name.

PLAN B

I don’t think you’d like it.

RASHA

Why? What is it?

PLAN B

Do you remember the plague that swept through the Alvirra Cluster?

RASHA

Yes. What was it called…?

PLAN B

*******. It killed thousands. But what they didn’t say was it wasn’t a plague.

RASHA

What was it?

PLAN B

(Ashamed)

It was me. I am *******.

RASHA gasps.

PLAN B (CONT’D)

I wasn’t even aware of myself. Somehow, Carn saved me. He brought me back. I can never escape the things I did. Could you ever forgive me?

RASHA places a hand on PLAN B’S.

RASHA

You didn’t even know you were doing it?

PLAN B shakes his head.

RASHA (CONT’D)

Would you have done it if you were aware of yourself?

PLAN B shakes his head.

RASHA

What made you do it?

PLAN B

I don’t remember.

RASHA

Did you ever try to find out?

PLAN B frowns and nods.

RASHA

Then you never found out. (PAUSE) I forgive you, and we’ll find out together.

EXT - ALDERAAN STREETS - DAY                              74

VAL, RAE’CHELL, CORRIN, and LILY walk.

CORRIN

(To VAL) You have your guard up. What is it?

VAL

I was born here. I hated the Empire when they destroyed it. I thought I would be happy to see it again. But this feels wrong.

CORRIN

You were born on Alderaan? I never made it there. I never got to see it.

VAL

It hasn’t changed much, but this isn’t home. I did think, for a moment, we brought it back, but…

RAE’CHELL

(To LILY) You lie as a profession?

LILY

In a word, yes.

RAE’CHELL

That is not our way. How do I know that you didn’t lie to me? Whether or not you’re really a Nightsister?

LILY

(Dathomir)

You don’t.

EXT - ALDERAAN CITY STREETS - DAY                         75

TABOON duels CARI with artifacts. VAL, CORRIN, RAE'CHELL, and LILY enter. VAL holds the Codex.

VAL

ENOUGH!!

TABOON

Do not interfere. This does not concern you.

VAL

I think it does concern me. She belongs to my order.

LILY sees CARI is SETT.

TABOON

(Raising an eyebrow)

Do you also wish to unbalance the Tya?

VAL

Tya?

TABOON

An energy field that nourishes all life, binding the universe together.

RAE'CHELL

(Sarcastic)

Oh, and all this time we called it the Force.

TABOON sees the Codex.

TABOON

(Concerned)

You are not the guardian of the Codex! From whence did you obtain it?

VAL

You know about the Codex?

TABOON

All Frah’Zshah know of the Codex.

VAL

YOU are Frah'Zshah?

TABOON

From whence did you obtain the Codex!?

VAL

It's a long story. Maybe we can sit and talk?

TABOON

Then Taboon must have sensed you. If you have the Codex...then you must seek the twin.

VAL

What are you talking about?

TABOON stands in attack posture.

TABOON

The Guardian canst not allow it!

CORRIN draws his lightsaber.

CORRIN

Back off, we're on a peace mission.

TABOON

Dare ye obstruct Taboon? Water yields little mercy to the flame.

TABOON attacks CORRIN. VAL draws his lightsaber.

VAL (With Codex in hand)

I don't want to fight you, but I will defend my friends.

TABOON

The Sentinel cowers not. The pillar must remain sturdy.

VAL

I am not your enemy!

TABOON

Only time can tell such a truth. Protect the Balance, holder of the Codex.

TABOON retreats. CARI stands with LILY’S help.

VAL

Are you all right?

CARI

I am now, thanks to you. I have orders to take you to the Jedi Council on Ossus. They wish to speak with you immediately.

CORRIN

The Jedi Council?

VAL

Ossus?

CARN, ASTER, and SQUEAKER enter.

CARN

You’re not gonna believe what we found out.

VAL

Neither are you.

INT - ALDERAAN DOCKING BAY - DAY                          76

ASTER, CARN, CORRIN, CARI, LILY, RAE’CHELL, VAL, SQUEAKER enter.

VAL

This is our ship.

CARI

I’ve never seen anything like it.

BIPH, RASHA, and PLAN B enter.

CORRIN

We’re leaving.

BIPH

But we just got here.

INT - MIRAGE I BRIDGE - SPACE                             77

The DEATHWIND docks with the MIRAGE I.

CORRIN sits in the captain’s chair. EVERYONE is there, including SQUEAKER.

CORRIN

Biph, are we ready to make the jump to Hyperspace?

BIPH

Yes, sir.

CORRIN

Then take us out.

CARN

Wait!

CORRIN

What is it?

CARN

The NAV computer's data is wrong. If we jump now, we might end up going right through a star.

CORRIN

What do you mean?

CARN

When Aster and I checked the news, we checked the date. We’re about four thousand years into the past. That’s why Alderaan’s here.

VAL

That’s why there’s a Jedi Council. And the Naddist Uprising. But how?

RAE’CHELL

And how do we get back?

CORRIN

We’re going to find out. But what does that have to do with the NAV Computer?

CARN

Stars are not stationary in Space. They revolve around an orbit on a galactic axis. Although very slow and infinitesimal, over a period of 4 millennia, stars just aren't where they once were. So I told Squeaker to upload Alderaan's NAV charts in case we needed to travel. (PAUSE) What?!

CORRIN

Good call, Carn.

CARN

Hey, if there’s one thing I do know, it’s flying.

CORRIN

Is the NAV Computer ready?

BIPH

Just a few more minutes, Boss.

CORRIN

When it's finished, make the Jump.

(PAUSE)

CARI

Do you have a ‘Fresher?

LILY

I’ll show you the way.

CARI and LILY exit.

INT - MIRAGE I CORRIDOR - HYPERSPACE                      78

CARI and LILY walk. CARI talks with SETT’S voice.

LILY

(Chuckling)

I knew I was to expect you; but like this?

SETT (V.O.)

She was a very talented blades master. She’ll serve her purpose. I thank you for saving that situation. It took every ounce of my willpower to keep myself from destroying that blue creature with my superior power.

LILY

You were wise not to reveal yourself. Now you know what I’ve had to deal with during the last seven years.

SETT (V.O.)

Father speaks highly of your efforts.

LILY

I sense jealousy from you. Is the master still upset at your attempt on Carn’s life?

SETT (V.O.)

Perhaps, but I’ve learned that lesson well. Do you think the master would let me kill that blue beast after this is all said and done?

LILY

I don’t see why he wouldn’t. What are the master’s orders?

SETT (V.O.)

We are to stall the Jedi as long as possible and keep them as far away from Onderon as we can until further instructed. The Master’s preparations are under way.

LILY

And the assassination?

SETT (V.O.)

…Will proceed as planned.

INT - CALMIR'S PRIVATE SHUTTLE - MORNING                  79

CALMIR, 4 PHANTOM TROOPERS, and 6 Stormtroopers wait to Halo Jump out of a Lambda Shuttle.

CALMIR

It is time. Descend.

PHANTOM TROOPER

You're Highness, if I may, why do the Stormtroopers get jet-packs and we don't?

CALMIR

Because jet-packs are clumsy. You have been trained to use the Force as your wings.

PHANTOM TROOPER

Your Highness, I've served you faithfully for many years, but I don't think my training is sufficient.

CALMIR

You wouldn't refuse my order would you?

PHANTOM TROOPER

Of course not, Master, but what you ask is the impossible.

CALMIR

Something is only impossible until someone achieves it.

CALMIR jumps. ALL TROOPS follow.

INT - SITH PALACE - MORNING                                80

CALMIR and 4 PHANTOM TROOPERS enter. They kill many Sith. The 6 Stormtroopers enter. ALL exit.

INT - SITH PALACE CHAMBER - MORNING

The 6 Stormtroopers die of Sith Magic. 15 Sith Sorcerers enter. They attack CALMIR and the 4 PHANTOM TROOPERS. DANZ KYMEHR, Lord General of the Sith, enters and applauds.

DANZ

Amazing… he takes a bolt to the chest and is already begging for more.

CALMIR

Allow me to introduce my newest prototypes, the Phantom Trooper.

DANZ

(Mockingly)

How original. (PAUSE) So, old man, is this a social visit, or have you come to give my sorcerers some target practice?

CALMIR

You may address me as, ‘Your Royal Highness’.

DANZ

Oh, I'm afraid ‘His Highness’ King Oman will have something to say about that.

DANZ and CALMIR draw their lightsabers.

CALMIR

No, my servants, he is mine.

DANZ

(To SORCERERS) It’s okay, I will enjoy this...

DANZ and CALMIR advance.

DANZ (CONT’D)

So you also know the ways of the Jedi… then why do you throw away your life in this meaningless test of skill? Why not join our crusade?

CALMIR

Because I have a much larger insect to crush. That is why I am enlisting you and your petty crusaders.

DANZ

You act as if you know what you're up against… a deadly mistake.

CALMIR and DANZ duel. CALMIR wins. KING OMAN enters.

KING OMAN

What is going on here!?

DANZ

Your Excellency, this wanton vagabond dares to bid for your throne.

KING OMAN

Then he shall perish before my hand!

KING OMAN attacks CALMIR. CALMIR wins. KING OMAN is attacked and killed by his own Sith Sorcerers.

DANZ

NO!

CALMIR

Save your breath, your sorcerers are under my influence now.

CALMIR turns to face an invisible ghost.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

You needn't hide yourself from me, Nadd.

The ghost of FREEDON NADD appears.

CALMIR (CONT'D)

You and I both know Oman was just a puppet in your hands, and without your assistance he was merely a gardoth's chew toy.

FREEDON NADD (FILTERED)

He served his purpose.

CALMIR

But not your purpose. Give me the secrets of the ancient Sith, and I will give you your rightful revenge against the Jedi.

INT - CARN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                             81

CARN and ASTER sit, alone.

CARN

Akbahr’s really gone. I can feel it.

ASTER

You've been separated before.

CARN

I know, but this time I can feel he’s gone. Something in the back of my mind…

ASTER

Don’t talk like that. You know how I feel about what the Emperor did to you. I told you I want you to ignore those feelings.

CARN

No. This is a feeling I would get before then.

ASTER

Well, talk to Val. He’ll know what to tell you.

CARN

I’m lucky I’ve found someone so level headed.

ASTER

Yes you are. (PAUSE) I’m going to be Asterilla Torrin.

CARN

You know that’s not my real name. I was adopted into the Torrin family, remember?

ASTER

You’ve told me as much. What is your last name?

CARN

I don’t know what it is. My parents were fugitives. I was born on an asteroid while they were on the run. I was given to the Torrins when I was only a few months old. My real parents died a few weeks later. I hardly remember them.

ASTER

You never told me this before.

CARN

I never told anyone. Not even Akbahr.

INT - CORRIN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                           82

VAL and CORRIN sit in his room.

VAL

You’re a Jedi Knight. And a brave one at that. Lily told me about what Rae’Chell tried to do to you.

CORRIN

Did she now?

VAL

You have nothing to be ashamed of. Being a Jedi is not all it’s cracked up to be. We’re given a gift. Knowledge. And with that knowledge comes power and with that power comes--

CORRIN

--Responsibility. I’ve heard this lecture before.

VAL

But now you’re living it. We’re not demigods. We’re not here to fix every problem that will come our way. We can’t.

CORRIN

I know. I know. (PAUSE) So, Alderaan was your home? What was it like? What do you remember?

VAL

I remember a park, with tall trees and blue grass. My parents would read to me while we ate picnics on a quilt. I remember the first girl I ever liked. Sira. I invited her to my eighth birthday party. She must have been waiting at my house for me when…

CORRIN

When what?

VAL

My family took me on a trip. We were touring the system. It was my birthday. We were coming home to a surprise party. When we returned, Alderaan was… was…

CORRIN

You’re birthday…

VAL

I’ve never told anyone before. Do you know how helpless you are at eight? To loose your home?

CORRIN

I do. I do. It’s late, you should get some sleep.

VAL

Good night.

VAL exits. CORRIN sleeps.

FLASHBACK:

INT - A STORAGE COMPARTMENT - SPACE                       83

A teenage CORRIN sits huddled between two crates. RIO, a young woman in street urchin clothes, argues with DORVIN, a young man dressed in similar attire.

RIO

Can’t you, just once, admit you made a mistake?

DORVIN

It wasn’t even my fault to begin with. You’re the one who said let’s go see the galaxy.

RIO

I never said I wanted to see Coruscant!

DORVIN

Well, I’m sure they’ll make some stops before they get there.

CORRIN stands.

CORRIN

I’m afraid not. This is a non-stop flight.

DORVIN

Who are you?

CORRIN

Someone who was enjoying the peace and quiet of an empty cargo hold until I heard your complaining.

DORVIN

How dare you speak to me that way!

DORVIN draws his blaster and drops it. CORRIN picks it up.

RIO

You DROPPED your blaster?!

DORVIN

That’s never happened before.

CORRIN

I guess there’s a first time for everything. Both of you, get into that crate, now.

RIO and DORVIN hide. CORRIN hides. 2 Stormtroopers take a look around, and leave. CORRIN enters.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

You can come out now, they’re gone. Really, you two, how do you expect to survive out here?

RIO and DORVIN enter.

RIO

How did you know…?

CORRIN

About the boys in white? They routinely check these holds every other hour. After a while, you can just smell them coming.

DORVIN

Why did you save our lives?

CORRIN

Honestly? I’d like the company. We’ve got at least 34 hours left.

RIO

My name is Rio, and this is Dorvin, my brother.

CORRIN

A pleasure. My name is Corrin. Here’s your blaster back, Dorvin. You should be more careful with who you point that at.

RIO

You’ve probably overheard our story, we jumped the wrong ship. But, what are you doing here, Corrin?

CORRIN

I’m an orphan. My father left me to fight in the war. I haven’t heard from him in years. I just got sick of waiting, so I left.

RIO

Left? Left where?

CORRIN

The place they wanted me to call home.

FLASHFORWARD:

INT - CORRIN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                           84

LILY enters, quietly.

LILY

(Whisper)

Corrin. Corrin, wake up.

CORRIN

Lily. Are we there all ready?

LILY

We are. What were you dreaming about?

CORRIN

Old friends.

LILY

(Smiling)

Sounds nice.

EXT - OSSUS DOCKING PLATFORM - DAWN                       85

The DEATHWIND lands. ALL enter.

VAL

Here, you may need these.

CARN

What are they?

VAL

They’re some form of currency.

CARI

They’re Hectarees. And quite a lot of them. Where did you find that much money?

VAL

In a little green box.

(PAUSE)

CARI

This way.

ALL exit.

INT - OUTSIDE THE JEDI COUNCIL CHAMBER - DAWN             86

CARI speaks with a guard.

GUARD

They will see you now.

CARI

Thank you.

INT - JEDI COUNCIL CHAMBER - DAWN                         87

CARI, VAL, CORRIN, and RASHA enter. Around them sit several Jedi Masters, including MASTER ALBON and ARCA JETH.

CARI

Master Albon, I have brought forth those who you requested.

ALBON

Thank you, Cari. We have another assignment for you. We have sensed a great disturbance resonating from the System of Onderon. We believe it’s the work of the Naddists. Master Arca Jeth is gathering Jedi to handle the situation.

ARCA JETH

As my apprentice, I request that you join me.

CARI

Yes, master. May I make suggestions as to the other Jedi who should come with us?

ARCA JETH

As you wish.

CARI and ARCA JETH exit.

ALBON

(To VAL) Welcome to Ossus, friends. Cari has told me you are Jedi. She also tells me you are honorable, trustworthy, and that you saved her life. However, there is something of a mystery surrounding you. We have no record of your ships. I can also feel the Force bend around you in a way I have never sensed before. Perhaps you could help us understand why.

VAL

I shall do my best, Master Albon.

VAL holds the Codex.

VAL (CONT’D)

Is it this that you sense?

ALBON

No. We know of the Frah’Zshah and their artifacts. What we sense surrounds you and your companions.

VAL

You sense we do not belong here. We don’t. We come from another time.

ALBON

Another time?

VAL

About four millennia from now we will be born. I cannot say how we came to be here, but we need to find a way back.

ALBON

Yes… That would explain a great many things. You have found yourselves a most interesting puzzle. Is there more?

VAL

There may be. We do not yet know. I am aware that the largest library in the galaxy is here on Ossus. With your permission, we request to use it to research our problem further.

ALBON

It will be at your disposal, Master Val. We would be glad to help you find your way back home again. May the Force be with you.

VAL

I'm not a Jedi Master, but thank you.

VAL and RASHA turn to leave.

ALBON

Corrin, you wish to say something?

CORRIN

I do, Master. We may be stranded here for a very long time. My betrothed and I desire to be wed. Is there… maybe something…

ALBON

Say no more, Corrin. We would be honored to help you in any way we can, too. Give us a few days to prepare.

They exit.

INT - OUTSIDE THE JEDI COUNCIL CHAMBER - DAWN             88

VAL, RASHA, and CORRIN enter.

VAL

Lily put you up to that, didn’t she?

CORRIN nods, exaggeratedly. Enters RAE’CHELL.

RAE’CHELL

Good, you’re back. Let’s go. I don’t like this place.

ALL exit.

INT – OMAN’S TEMPLE: SITH SECRET ROOM – EVENING           89

CALMIR, 4 PHANTOM TROOPERS, WE’SEL, 8 Stormtroopers, FREEDON NADD, DANZ, and many Sith enter. Inside lay five coffin-shaped stone boxes arranged in a circle around a central Alter.

CALMIR

Just as I have foreseen it.

FREEDON (ECHOED)

The writings on the wall suggest it was a place of “healing”, but their record states they could not get it to work.

CALMIR

And you haven’t been able to work it either?

FREEDON (ECHOED)

No. Can you?

CALMIR

My friend, you might as well ask whether the Force exists.

2 Stormtroopers enter with 2 covered bodies and place them in 2 boxes. CALMIR places the Addius Vaquila on the Alter.

ISIS and OSIRIS enter from the boxes.

FREEDON (ECHOED)

Bring me a host, it is my turn.

INT - GUEST QUARTERS - DAY                                90

VAL sits alone, meditating. CARN enters.

CARN

Good, you’re alone.

VAL

What is it, Carn?

CARN

It’s about the Force. Lately, it seems, some of the memories, some of the skills I’ve been taught, resurface. I can’t repress them any longer.

VAL

I have an apprentice. I can’t take on a second. You know that much.

CARN

But what do I do? I can’t keep bottling it up. And I can’t wait around for you to finish Rasha’s training.

VAL

Talk to Corrin. He’s a Knight now. He can help.

CARN exits. RAE’CHELL enters.

RAE’CHELL

May I join you?

VAL

If you want to. You’re more than welcome.

RAE’CHELL

You are an amazing person, Val. You are much different than when we first met. You changed.

VAL

How so?

RAE’CHELL

When you came in demanding Ralkir’s Relic, you had no class, no finesse. You got what you wanted, no matter who you hurt. Now, you’ve made a complete turn around.

VAL

Thank you. I am sorry about my attitude. My friend was being held hostage, and the ransom was the Relic Ralkir had. Do you know what it could do? What it was capable of?

RAE’CHELL

No. It was just one of many he owned.

VAL

As near as I can figure, it’s a power cell. Watch this.

VAL levitates a small coin from the table.

VAL (CONT’D)

I can hold this here for about five seconds if I try hard enough.

VAL grabs the Codex. Several more coins levitate, spin, and revolve in orbit around the first.

VAL (CONT’D)

With the Codex, I could lift the entire table for hours on end.

RAE’CHELL

And what would Ralkir’s do?

VAL

The Codex only works for users of the Light Side of the Force, such as Jedi. The Addius Vaquila, the one Ralkir had, would do the same thing for servants of the Dark Side, such as the Sith, or yourself.

RAE’CHELL

And it was right under my nose.

VAL lowers the coins back onto the table.

VAL

What ever happened to Ralkir?

RAE’CHELL

He was killed… slaughtered by someone with a lightsaber. I assumed it was you, but I think I may have been mistaken.

VAL

There were other attackers present. Biph was almost killed, and Lily was captured by the Emperor’s men. They might have killed Ralkir.

RAE’CHELL

Then you have merely dishonored me, not my master.

VAL

Then does Dek’Sha still need to be satisfied?

RAE’CHELL

My honor must be restored, and you cannot use that rock to your advantage.

INT - OSSUS PET SHOP - DAY                                91

RASHA and PLAN B enter.

RASHA

Val said we could go where we wanted. I wanted to come here.

PLAN B

To an animal trader?

RASHA

Pet shop. There is a difference. Take a look at this one!

RASHA points. The pet shop OWNER enters.

OWNER

That one is really lazy. He’ll just sit around, sleep, and eat. You look like someone that wants one that’ll love you back. Am I right?

RASHA

Yes!

The OWNER and RASHA exit. PLAN B sees a feisty catlike creature. She looks at PLAN B then instantly calms down. The OWNER and RASHA enter.

OWNER

I’ve never seen her do that before.

PLAN B

What?

OWNER

She’s calm, passive. She kept attacking the customers, no one wanted her. I thought I’d have to put her down.

PLAN B

Hmm.

OWNER

You can have her if you want. Free of charge.

RASHA

She’s cute. We’ll take her.

PLAN B

We’ll what?

RASHA smiles. The OWNER opens the cage. The creature jumps on PLAN B and perches on his shoulder.

PLAN B (CONT’D)

(To OWNER) Does she have a name?

OWNER

Nope. No one ever gave her one.

PLAN B

(To RASHA) What should I call her?

RASHA

Ferria. That was my master’s name.

PLAN B

Ferria?

FERRIA meows approvingly. RASHA smiles.

INT - GUEST QUARTERS - DAY                                92

JOAH-QUIN knocks on the door. VAL and RAE’CHELL kneel, meditating.

VAL

Come in.

JOAH-QUIN enters.

VAL (CONT’D)

Yes?

JOAH-QUIN

You are Val Lainli?

VAL

I am.

JOAH-QUIN

Then this must be the Codex?

VAL

It is. Why?

JOAH-QUIN

Master Albon sent me. I am a scholar of the Frah’Zshah. He felt I could be of help.

VAL

You just might.

INT - GUEST HALL - DAY                                    93

TI’ANN, a busy looking Jedi, enters to find CORRIN and LILY.

TI’ANN

(Accusingly)

You two are very hard to find.

CORRIN

That’s our job.

TI’ANN

What? Nevermind. My name is Ti’Ann. Master Albon sent me. I’ll be coordinating your wedding.

LILY

Oh, good. When do we begin?

TI’ANN

Immediately. You’ll need to bring two witnesses. They ought to be Jedi.

CORRIN

I understand. Val and Rasha.

TI’ANN

You will also need tokens.

LILY

Tokens?

TI’ANN

Tokens of your unity. You exchange them. They’re usually jewelry, like a ring or a pendant.

LILY

All right. Anything else?

TI’ANN
We will have to do something with that hair of yours, my boy.

CORRIN

My hair?

INT – OMAN’S TEMPLE - EVENING                             94

DANZ overhears CALMIR and FREEDON NADD.

FREEDON NADD

We have a lot of preparing to do. To build an army, acquire weapons and ships for them…

CALMIR

I already have that taken care of. My army awaits you and your thralls to take their place, to create a grand new army to rival even the dreaded Republic and their Jedi.

FREEDON NADD

I assume then you have plenty of commanders and generals to lead this army.

CALMIR

Yes… that is, unless you wish to make some of your own men command. While good in the intention, it could thwart a steadily built and highly successful command chain that already exists.

FREEDON NADD

I see your point.

DANZ exits.

CALMIR

I must attend to other matters. My servants, Ramir Isis and Ramir Osiris will be in charge in my absence. They will know the entire plan.

FREEDON NADD

Ramir? I have never heard of such a title.

CALMIR

It is of little significance. Just as Darth signifies a Dark Lord of the Sith, Ramir signifies a master of my own Arts. A Lord is a Lord.

FREEDON NADD

A Lord is a Lord.

FREEDON NADD exits. ISIS and OSIRIS enter.

CALMIR

You’re late.

ISIS

I’m sorry, Master.

CALMIR

I brought you back so you’d learn from your mistakes, not make new ones.

OSIRIS

What is the plan?

CALMIR

MY plan is to allow the Naddists their rightful place in history.

OSIRIS

I know that tone of your voice. How does this benefit you?

CALMIR

Why I’m only showing a little charity. You will stay here to oversee their progress. When the time is right, you will find Carn and watch over him. Do I make myself perfectly clear?

OSIRIS

Yes, my master.

ISIS

You wouldn’t mind explaining to me why you didn’t bring back my other eye?

CALMIR

Lessons learned must never be forgotten.

CALMIR exits.

INT - WOMEN’S DRESSING ROOM - DAY                         99

LILY dresses for the wedding. ASTER helps.

ASTER

How long have you and Corrin known each other?

LILY

It would be about 4 years now. Well, our time.

ASTER

How did you meet?

LILY

I used to command our unit. You know, Biph and Trev?

ASTER

Yeah.

LILY

Corrin joined up, and he quickly outranked me.

ASTER

That hardly seems fair.

LILY

Sure it is. He earned it. He’s done a better job as leader than I ever could. But he felt the same way you do. He felt so bad he took me out to dinner by way of an apology.

ASTER

That’s sweet.

LILY

He spent an entire month’s salary on my dinner alone. Omanda Shrimp, freshly imported.

ASTER

That stuff is so good.

LILY

He had to work double shifts for months just to pay the debt.

ASTER

That’s really going above and beyond. What is it about him that you like so much?

LILY

I think what I love about him is that he needs me. We depend on each other. He knows what I’m capable of, and he relies on that. I had a terrible relationship a long time ago with a man who I would have to depend on, but who really didn’t need me. And when he did need me, he hardly bothered to acknowledge my help. I hate feeling useless.

ASTER

I know it. That’s why I do what I do. Being underestimated gives one a certain advantage.

LILY

That is so true. What about you and Carn? When did you meet?

ASTER

Ah, that story. He had a bounty on himself. You remember Ralkir?

LILY

How could I forget?

ASTER

Well, one of his underlings paid Carn to do a smuggling run. I’ll spare you the details, but to make a long story short, he screwed it up.

LILY

I don’t want to know how. Did it involve large explosions?

ASTER

Yep, that’s kinda his trademark. Anyway I was sent to collect him, dead or alive. Well, I captured him, and I was on the way back with him, when he said something unbelievable.

LILY

Oh, do tell.

ASTER

He said these exact words. He said; I can pay you the amount they’re giving you. I said; Why should I accept your money? He said; Because I’m cute.

LILY

He didn’t. Really?

ASTER

And what’s worse? I bought it! I agreed to help him fight off other bounty hunters. We had some good times together. But I left him, took some odd jobs with the Republic…

LILY

And you two got back together just before we met.

ASTER

That’s right. How did you…

LILY

When I was a prisoner of Emperor Calmir, Carn would come by and tell me about you. He kept me alive. Kept me believing.

ASTER

Carn can bring out the best in people. And the worst.

(PAUSE)

LILY

You know, Carn isn’t a Jedi. He wouldn’t want the kind of wedding Corrin and I are having.

ASTER

Knowing Carn, his ideal wedding is probably half a dozen of his friends dancing around while drinking Twi’lek whisky and firing their blasters up in the air.

LILY

It would be a real treat to go back to our own time and say ‘We got married on Alderaan.’ While we’re here, you could do just that.

ASTER

Lily, I couldn’t imagine a better wedding; Mingling the beauty of Alderaan with the individuality of Carn.

TI’ANN enters.

TI’ANN

Lily? Oh, good. You’re ready. Let’s go.

INT - JEDI TEMPLE - DAY                                    96

CORRIN, LILY, RASHA, and VAL enter. 2 ATTENDENTS guide them to a JEDI in majestic robes.

JEDI

Those who would be joined together, step forward.

CORRIN and LILY step forward an kneel.

JEDI (CONT’D)

Do you, on your sacred honor, vow to bind your destinies together for all time?

CORRIN

Yes.

LILY

Yes.

The JEDI performs the ceremony.

JEDI

It is the will of the Force that your fates be intertwined. By the power of the Force, you are wed. You are now one with each other, as we all are one with the Force. Rise.

CORRIN and LILY rise.

JEDI (CONT’D)

You may now exchange tokens of your marriage.

CORRIN and LILY exchange pendants and kiss.

INT - OSSUS LIBRARY - NIGHT                               97

VAL and JOAH-QUIN enter. An elderly LIBRARIAN greets them.

JOAH-QUIN

Master Pier, I would like to continue my research on the Frah’Zshah.

LIBRARIAN

Of course, Joah-Quin. You might be interested to know that a Perez is also looking into those records.

JOAH-QUIN

Really? Where is this Perez? I would like to speak with him.

LIBRARIAN

Over there, on that terminal.

VAL and JOAH-QUIN walk over to PEREZ.

JOAH-QUIN

Are you Perez?

PEREZ

I am.

JOAH-QUIN

My name is Joah-Quin. This is my associate, Val Lainli. We understand you are interested in the Frah’Zshah?

PEREZ

Yes, yes I am. Why do you ask?

VAL shows PEREZ the Codex.

PEREZ (CONT’D)

The Codex.

VAL

I need to know everything I can about it.

PEREZ

That would take some time. Is there something more specific you’d like to know?

VAL

Time is something I have plenty of.

PEREZ

Where shall we begin?

EXT - A BALCONY - NIGHT                                   98

ASTER

Love, I’d like to ask you something…

CARN

What’s that?

ASTER

Lily gave me an idea, and I want to do it. I want to have the wedding on Alderaan.

CARN

Alderaan? What’s wrong with Corellia?

ASTER

Assuming we get back to our own time, Corellia will still be there. Alderaan won’t.

CARN

All right, Alderaan it is.

INT - OSSUS LIBRARY - MORNING.                            99

VAL, PEREZ, and JOAH-QUIN were up all night studying. RAE’CHELL leans against a wall. CARN enters.

CARN

Are you guys still here?

VAL

Yeah, we’re still here.

CARN

Aster and I are going back to Alderaan. She wants the wedding to be there. The others are ready. We’re leaving in about an hour. We were hoping you’d come with us.

(PAUSE)

VAL

I can’t. I’m sorry, but this is really important. I have to find us a way back.

CARN

Val, these records will still be here in a week.

VAL

Have Rasha go with you.

CARN

She already is. She was hoping you’d come along, too.

VAL

Carn, I sense there is more to our being here than meets the eye. I am driven to find out.

CARN

(To RAE’CHELL) I guess you’re welcome to come along, too.

RAE’CHELL

Until Dek’Sha is satisfied I must stay with Val.

CARN

Suit yourself.

CARN exits.

INT - DEATWIND COCKPIT - SPACE

CARN pilots the DEATHWIND. ASTER and RASHA sit.

CARN

Ever since he got that accursed Codex, he hasn’t had time for anything else. It’s like he’s a completely different person.

RASHA

Give him time. He’ll work through it. He always talked about the good times you two had.

CARN

Then why is he shunning me? If we had such good times, why doesn’t he join us to have another one?

RASHA

He’s trying to find us a way home.

CARN

That’s no excuse. He couldn’t put down his book for a week, come with us to Alderaan, and be with us when we get married. We’ve known each other for fifteen years.

ASTER

You’re letting your temper get the better of you. I’ve told you about that.

CARN

You can’t tell me you’re not upset.

ASTER

Of course I’m upset. But this is something I want to do. If Val can’t make the time to be here for us, then so be it. But I don’t want to waste time hating someone who is confused about their priorities.

CARN

Fine, I’ll cool off.

ASTER

Thank you.

The DEATHWIND docks with the MIRAGE I. The MIRAGE I enters Hyperspace.

INT – WE’SEL’S SSD: DOCKING BAY – SPACE                   102

ISIS oversees many Stormtroopers and Sith. DANZ enters.

DANZ

What in Kol-Dan do you think you’re doing?!

ISIS

(Taunting)

Organizing my men.

DANZ

No! MY men. I am the Lord General of the Naddist Sorcerers!

ISIS

(Whisper)

You are nothing!

INT - OSSUS LIBRARY – DAY                                 103

VAL

But wait, how can that be?  It has to have some sort of additional use. It has a storage of energy that feeds my powers whenever I touch it.

PEREZ

All it says is “Sera Vera Kredoz Dekoos Ila”. The only apparent purpose it was created for was to teach.

JOAH-QUIN

Perhaps not… The Frah’Zshah believed strongly in the balance between the Dark and the Light. But trying to train in both the sides would not allow oneself to grow particularly strong in either side. It’s like trying to ride two banthas running in opposite directions. And also the word “Dekoos”, which is “to teach”, in an earlier dialect can mean “to focus”.

VAL

Then perhaps a better description for the Codex would be a Lens. So it magnifies my powers.

PEREZ

I wonder… Theoretically speaking, say a bloodline has never been particularly strong in the Force when it comes to the powers of the mind. How greatly would the Codex strengthen that weakness?

VAL

Or what about someone who is already strong with mental powers?

JOAH-QUIN

Then it is quite possible for them to see anything. Perhaps in a Dreamscape. Some one strong enough could spot anyone strong in the force over the entire galaxy. But holding such a power would demand great responsibility.

VAL

I think we need to take a look at that Alter.

INT - JEDI CRUSIER - SPACE                                104

VAL pilots. PEREZ, RAE’CHELL, and JOAH-QUIN sit.

PEREZ

Tell me about your friend, Carn. I could sense some power in him, but it’s all bottled up.

VAL

He’s had some nasty experiences. I don’t think I should talk about it.

PEREZ

I had some ‘nasty experiences’ myself. There was a time when I was teetering towards the Dark Side. I can still feel its pull. Sometimes I just want to-

VAL

-Run away? (PEREZ nods) Really? I had no idea, Perez. You seem so able, so sure of yourself.

PEREZ

No one can see what sufferings happen on the inside.

(PAUSE)

VAL

You’re right. Carn asked me for my help. He wanted me to guide him, to teach him the differences between the Light Side and the Dark Side.

PEREZ

Why? What happened?

VAL

He was forced to learn the Dark Side before he understood the Light. Perhaps you could help him?

PEREZ

Why don’t you do it? Why me?

VAL

Because you understand what he’s going through and because I have an apprentice.

PEREZ

I will, if that’s what you want me to do.

INT - DERELICT ALTER ROOM - SPACE                         105

VAL, JOAH-QUIN, RAE’CHELL and PEREZ enter.

VAL

That’s it.

JOAH-QUIN

This is not Frah’Zshahan. This is definitely manufactured. How did you activate it?

VAL

I placed the Codex in this slot here.

PEREZ

Don’t put it in yet. We don’t know what it’ll do.

VAL

I don’t intend to.

JOAH-QUIN

It wouldn’t do anything if you did. It’s set up with a secondary power source. Look here.

VAL

I never noticed that.

PEREZ

Well, what’s it hooked up to?

JOAH-QUIN

Take Val and find out.

PEREZ and VAL exit.

JOAH-QUIN

Rae’Chell, could you give me a hand with this?

INT - DERELICT SHIP CORRIDOR - SPACE                      106

VAL and PEREZ enter.

VAL

Tell me, when you fell away, what happened?

PEREZ

I can’t tap into the mental half of the Force. I can pretty much move a house with the Force, but I couldn’t fool a drunk into thinking a ripe fruit is rotten. I gave up. I just couldn’t do it.

VAL

Really? Because I have the hardest time tapping into the physical half of the Force. I could make a millionaire think he was broke, but I couldn’t lift my lightsaber to safe my life.

PEREZ

You? No, I don’t believe that for a moment.

VAL

It’s true. The Codex helped immensely. It magnified my powers. I keep getting stronger the more I use it.

PEREZ

Can I see it?

VAL

Sure.

VAL hands PEREZ the Codex.

PEREZ

It’s amazing. It’s like I’m able to piece together things I’d never think of.

VAL

Enlightenment.

PEREZ hands VAL the Codex.

VAL (CONT’D)

It comes with being part of the Light Side.

They find the end of the cord.

PEREZ

It’s some kind of short range transmitter. I’ve never seen the like before.

VAL

It’s Imperial. They sent us back. We have to find a way back to our time. Who knows what havoc the Empire is causing in our absence? My friends… BLAST! I can’t believe I… Perez, I have to go down to the planet. I must be completely stupid. My best friend is getting married, and I’m not there.

VAL exits.

EXT - ALDERAAN CITY STREET - DAY                          107

VAL and RAE’CHELL enter.

VAL

Where are they?

LILY enters.

VAL

Lily!

LILY

Val? I thought you weren’t coming!

VAL

Well, I was stupid, but I’m better now. Where are the others?

LILY

Follow me.

VAL, LILY, and RAE’CHELL exit.

INT - MEN’S DRESSING ROOM - DAY                           108

CORRIN, CARN, and BIPH dress in standard Alderaanian Wedding garb. VAL enters.

CARN

Val, you made it.

VAL

I wouldn’t miss this for anything.

BIPH

Well, we should be thanking you. It’s the money you found that’s paying for this entire thing.

VAL

It’s absolutely unbelievable.

CORRIN

What else was in that little box?

VAL

Not much, I’ll tell you later.

CARN

Now that you’re here, you’d better get dressed. We have just enough money for you’re suit.

INT – DERELICT ALTER ROOM – SPACE                         109

JOAH-QUIN and PEREZ work. CARN and VAL enter.

JOAH-QUIN

Back so soon? I thought weddings lasted longer than that.

VAL

I figured I’d return your ship so that you weren’t stranded here.

PEREZ

That’s mighty thoughtful of you.

VAL

Carn, this is Joah-Quin and Perez. They’ve been helping us to find a way home.

CARN

Great.

VAL

Can I give you a hand?

JOAH-QUIN

Yeah, under there, tell me what color the wires are.

VAL gets under the console, and hands CARN a device.

CARN

What’s this?

VAL

It’s a new toy. I found it on my ship.

CARN pushes a button and vanishes.

VAL (CONT’D)

And don’t touch the button.

CARN screams. VAL, JOAH-QUIN, RAE’CHELL, and PEREZ exit.

INT – MIRAGE I DOCKING BAY – DAY                          111

VAL, PEREZ, RAE’CHELL, and JOAH-QUIN enter. CARN enters from VAL’S SHIP with a headache.

CARN

Oh, that hurt…

VAL

I told you not to push the button.

CARN

Well, why didn’t you tell me that BEFORE I pushed the button? What was that anyway?

VAL

A recall for my teleporter.

CARN

You have a teleporter? And you DIDN’T tell ME?

VAL

You didn’t ask.

EXT - ALDERAAN CHAPEL - DAY                               111

CARN and ASTER begin their wedding ceremony.

INT - DERELICT ALTER ROOM - DAY                           112

JOAH-QUIN and PEREZ continue studying the Alter.

JOAH-QUIN

I think I’ve figured it out. This transmitter sent a signal to the opposite power source, starting up the reaction.

PEREZ

Opposite?

JOAH-QUIN & PEREZ

The Addius Vaquila!

EXT - ALDERAAN CHAPEL - DAY                               113

CARN and ASTER kiss. ALL cheer.

CARN

I know so few of you. I know the people who helped with our catering, attire, and everything else. I also know who my closest friends are. The rest of you are just here for the food, aren’t you? (PAUSE)Hey, I don’t mind. I really don’t. We’ve got some great food here. Besides, I’d probably do the same thing if I were you. Wait a minute. I have done the same thing as you. So let’s eat!

ALL cheer.

EXT - RECEPTION AREA - DAY                                114

EVERYONE eats the treats laid out on the buffet.

CARN

I’m really glad you decided to come.

ASTER

It wouldn’t have been the same without you.

VAL

I don’t know what came over me. I guess I became so concerned about getting my friends home, I forgot about my friends.

CARN

It happens to the best of us.

PEREZ and JOAH-QUIN enter.

VAL

Oh, Carn. I meant to tell you. Perez, here, has agreed to teach you the differences between the Light Side and the Dark Side.

CARN

Really?

PEREZ

It’s true. I’ve talked with Val, and he thinks I can help you.

CARN

That’s great.

JOAH-QUIN

Val, I need to talk to you.

CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH enter.

LILY

Aster, you look absolutely beautiful.

ASTER

Thank you, Lily.

CORRIN

You really do.

ASTER smiles. VAL and JOAH-QUIN sneak off.

JOAH-QUIN

Val, I think we’ve figured it out. We can get you home. But we need the Addius Vaquila. Do you know where it is?

VAL

No, but I know someone who might.

INT - CHAPEL ROOM - DAY                                   115

VAL, JOAH-QUIN, RASHA, and CORRIN sit around a table. VAL has the Codex in front of him.

VAL

I am going attempt to use the Codex to find Taboon. What should I look for?

JOAH-QUIN

If what you say about him is true, he would be the strongest signal that is in balance with the Force. It shouldn’t be hard.

VAL

Here goes nothing.

VAL enters into the Dreamscape.

VAL (CONT’D)

I can see it. All the stars, it’s so beautiful. I see him. Bopane… he’s on, Bopane.

CORRIN

Got it.

CORRIN exits.

VAL

Wait. I sense a great darkness. I know where…

VAL passes out.

RASHA

Val? Val! (To JOAH-QUIN) What’s wrong with him?

JOAH-QUIN

He’s appears to be in a coma.

INT - CALMIR’S LIBRARY - DREAMSCAPE                       116

VAL finds himself standing in the center of the Library that was destroyed in Calmir’s Temple. CALMIR stands from behind his table.

CALMIR

Ah, Val. I’ve been expecting you. Welcome to my library.

VAL

This can’t be real, I watched you die.

CALMIR

As a matter of fact, this isn’t real. This is a Dreamscape, your mind in mine. Of course, I would have to be living for this to work, so it’s safe to say that I am very much alive. You didn’t really believe that merely collapsing several tons of stone on me would be enough to conquer me, did you? Do I seem so fragile to in your eyes?

VAL tries to escape, but the doors are locked.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

That will do you no good. You can’t get out. You are trapped here until I decide to let you go. Not before. This my Dreamscape, remember?

VAL charges CALMIR.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

Physical prowess means nothing here. You cannot hurt me. Your strength must come from your mind.

VAL

Why have you brought me here?

CALMIR

You brought yourself. I only invited you. But while you’re here I might as well gloat a little.

VAL

Gloat?

CALMIR

A bad habit of mine. Call it a weakness.

VAL

What is this place?

CALMIR

As I said before, this is my library. There was never enough light.

CALMIR wills the room to become brighter.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

Ah, that’s better. I wanted to take you to this place in person. Sadly you destroyed my temple, and this library with it. I did so enjoy the hours I would spend here studying, learning.

VAL

I doubt that.

CALMIR

Oh?

VAL

The Dark Side has no respect for knowledge, only destruction.

CALMIR

The Dark Side respects destruction because destruction is power. Knowledge also is power. I seek power. What everything in the galaxy fights for, is power.

VAL

I don’t seek power.

CALMIR

Oh don’t you? Do you think that learning the art and skill of the Jedi is merely for enlightenment? No… you gain dominance over the elements, control over weak-minded, and a firm grip on what destiny throws your way. The Force gives you power. (PAUSE) And let’s not forget war; its very purpose is to give one man power over another. Even the very sun gives battle to the moon for dominance over the sky, only to seek revenge the next morning. So now it’s time to ask yourself what you believe.

VAL

Master Skywalker said power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

CALMIR (cackles softly)

My friend, you cross yourself. If the Jedi seek knowledge, which is power, and power corrupts… then the most knowledgeable of the Jedi are the most evil.

VAL

You have a very twisted intellect.

CALMIR

But am I wrong? Am I not evil simply because I know everything?

VAL

You don’t know everything.

CALMIR

I am working on that.

INT - MIRAGE I BRIDGE - SPACE                             117

MIRAGE I enters from Hyperspace in orbit of BOPANE.

LILY

I’m not picking up any technology. There’s no reply from the planet. It’s populated, but seems pre-space.

CORRIN

Find a remote place to land. We don’t want to cause a riot.

MIRAGE I lands in a field far from any city.

EXT - ALDERAAN PARK - DAY                                 118

PEREZ sits on a park bench. CARN and SQEAKER enter.

PEREZ

Carn, come here. Sit a while.

CARN sits. SQUEAKER stops by CARN.

PEREZ (CONT’D)

I heard what happened to Val. Has he woken up yet?

CARN

No, not yet. I’m getting worried.

PEREZ

Relax. Val will pull through this. He is a strong Jedi. I hear you’re a pilot? Is that right? Do you like it?

CARN

It’s the greatest thing in the galaxy. The places I’ve been, the things I’ve seen…

PEREZ

I’m a pilot, too. Learned a few interesting things about flying. The stories I could tell. I’ve seen Jedi fly large cargo ships with all the finesse of a Starfighter. I’ve seen Jedi plot courses through Hyperspace just by feeling where they wanted to go. No astromechs. They weren’t needed. (Squeaker beeps indignantly) Sorry, Squeaker.

CARN

That would be a skill I would love to have.

PEREZ

Actually, that’s a skill I do have. I could teach it to you.

CARN

You’ll teach me how to fly like a Jedi?

PEREZ

Of course. But we’ll have start with the basics.

CARN

When do we start?

EXT - CITY STREETS - DAY                                  119

RASHA and PLAN B enter.

RASHA

I’m almost done with my training.

PLAN B

That’s wonderful. What do you have left to do?

RASHA

All I have left is to build my own lightsaber.

PLAN B

That’s it?

RASHA

It’s easier said than done. It takes months.

RASHA thinks she sees ISIS’ electronic eye down an alleyway.

PLAN B

What is it?

RASHA

I’m seeing things. Let’s find the others.

EXT - CITY COURTYARD - DAY                                120

CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH enter. The KING and his vanguard enters. EVERYONE bows except CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH.

BIPH

(Whisper)

Do you think we should bow, too?

KING

How DARE you! Don’t you know how to bow to your King when I grace you with my presence?

LILY, CORRIN, and BIPH bow.

LILY

Our apologies, your Grace. We didn’t know.

EVERYONE gasps.

GUARD

ARREST THEM!

CORRIN

Oh, what did we do now?

GUARDS surround them. CORRIN draws his lightsaber.

GUARD

An Azgarth!

An IGER, a warrior priest with a Lightsaber, duels CORRIN. CORRIN wins. 3 IGERS step forward.

IGER

Surrender, heathen.

CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH are arrested. RASHA and PLAN B enter.

RASHA

What happened?

PEASANT

A woman spoke to the King! She had an Azgarth with her.

RASHA

An Azgarth?

PEASANT

A heathen. A Dark Outlander… Know you nothing?

RASHA

(To PLAN B) They mistook Corrin for a Sith. This can’t be happening. We’ve got to contact Val.

INT - CALMIR’S LIBRARY - DREAMSCAPE                       121

CALMIR picks up one of the books on his table.

CALMIR

The Yerra believed in a Goddess of Light, and a God of Darkness, and that the two of them war against each other in the heavens.

CALMIR picks up another book.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

The Ka’li believed in a cycle of energies. That the Yuu gave life and the Raa took life away.

CALMIR picks up a third book.

CALMIR

The Dae Troc believed that there was a Great God and his two sons, Gerr and Arus, worked miracles of Good and Evil among the common people. It plagued my mind for years trying to figure out which was right. Which of these great civilizations were correct? Which culture had a firm grasp on the purpose of the Force? Do you know what I found out?

VAL

No. What?

CALMIR

They all were right. And they all were wrong. Each one of them had a fragment of truth to them. But every single one was distorted with beliefs, convoluted religions, and heresy. Each had their heretics, their hypocrites. Not one of them, not even the Jedi, had all the answers.

VAL

I never said the Jedi had all the answers.

CALMIR

Nor am I accusing you, but I believe there is more to the truth than the Jedi know.

VAL

And what truth is it that you believe in?

CALMIR

I hoped you would ask. I believe in the Force. I believe the Force is a tool that has been used by religious fanatics for millennia. The weak minded fall so quickly for the cheap parlor tricks you and I could so easily perform. Haven’t you ever been tempted? Tempted to just go down to a planet that no one has ever been to, tell them you’re a God, solidifying your claim with your powers, and govern over them with your wisdom and foresight. Sometimes I wonder how many offshoot religions are based solely on the ideas of a lone Jedi with an inferiority complex. You could do it. You have the Force. The difference between a Man and a God is power.

VAL

I’m not interested in Godhood.

CALMIR

I am.

INT - MIRAGE I BRIDGE - DAY                               122

RASHA and PLAN B speak to CARN over an audio only channel.

RASHA

Carn, you have to tell Val. The others have been arrested.

CARN (O.S.)

What? Why?

RASHA

It’s a crime for a woman to talk to the King.

CARN (O.S.)

You must be joking. They arrested Lily for talking to the King?

RASHA
And Corrin. And Biph. They’re talking execution. And I can’t use my Lightsaber, or they’ll arrest me for being a heathen.

CARN (O.S.)

Aster and I will be on our way. Val’s a little out of it right now.

INT - DEATHWIND LOUNGE – DAY                              123

ASTER and CARN speak to RASHA over an audio only channel.

RASHA (O.S.)

What? What happened?

CARN
It’s a long story. You two will have to stall for time. Convince the King to give them a trial. It’s their only hope.

RASHA (O.S.)

We’ll do what we can.

ASTER
Let’s go.

PEREZ enters.

PEREZ
I’m coming with you.

CARN

What?

PEREZ

Val told me to stick with you, so that’s what I’m doing.

The DEATHWIND flies out of its docking bay, into orbit, and enters Hyperspace.

INT - MIRAGE I EQUIPMENT ROOM - DAY                       124

RASHA finds surveillance equipment. PLAN B watches.

PLAN B

This isn’t going to work.

RASHA

Yes it is. Trust me.

INT - THRONEROOM - DAY                                     125

The KING sits on his thrown, bored. His AIDE stands beside him. ATTENDANTS line the walls.

KING

(Whisper)

I loath this. Look at those whining bureaucrats just standing there, plotting their little schemes, thinking they’re important because they’re with me. They should all be shot. Watch my chair, I’m going down to the pub.

AIDE

But, Your Majesty, formality demands-

KING

Yeah, yeah… You try sitting in this chair some time.

PLAN B enters. ATTENDANTS murmur amongst themselves.

PLAN B

Your Royal Highness. I beseech you. My friends and I are not of this place.

KING

You’re friends?

PLAN B

One of them, a woman, unwittingly made the mistake of addressing your person.

KING

Ah, yes. I remember them. You are friends with an Azgarth?

The ATTENDANTS’ murmur grows louder.

KING (CONT’D)

The charges against your friends are serious.

PLAN B

I am aware of their charges, your Grace.

INT - MIRAGE I BRIDGE - DAY                               126

RASHA speaks into a microphone.

RASHA

…your Grace. I request—

FERRIA turns off the transmission.

RASHA (CONT’D)

Ferria!? What did you touch?

INT - THRONE ROOM - DAY                                    127

PLAN B

I request… um… I request…

KING

Yes?

The ATTENDANTS begin laughing at PLAN B.

PLAN B

Well, I, um… What I mean to say is… eh… (Angry) Look, your Lordlyship, let’s skip the formality and cut to the grits. I want you to give my friends a chance to defend themselves. They were only guilty of not knowing your stupid customs before hand.

The ATTENDANTS gasp. The KING laughs and stands.

KING

Honesty! It’s been a long time since that’s been in this room. (PAUSE) You are truly a breath of fresh air. It’s about time someone scared the egos out of these cowards. Very well, you shall have your justice.

PLAN B nods and exits.

INT - CALMIR’S LIBRARY - DREAMSCAPE                       128

CALMIR

There is no stopping it now, Val Lainli… My ascent to Godhood is nigh. I have conquered the Force. I have conquered living. I have conquered the dead. I have even bridged the gap between them. And now I have conquered Time. Yes, Val, it was I who brought us back through time… with your help of course. I needed the Codex to, how shall I put it, “complete the circuit”.

VAL

Why? Why have you brought us here?

CALMIR

I needed to spin the dial on the clock backwards and you had the second key. As to the rest of your ragged bunch, they became stowaways on the wrong flight.

VAL

Why here? Why this time?

INT - ASSAULT TRANSPORT CORRIDOR - SPACE                  129

CARI, ULIC & CAY QEL-DROMA, TOTT DONEETA, DACE DIATH, KITH KARK, NOMI SUNRIDER, QRRL TOQ, and ARCA JETH manage a small transport through Hyperspace. CALMIR and VAL’S voices narrate.

CALMIR (V.O.)

History is divided up into three parts; names, dates, and events. Events are the most fascinating. Names come second. Dates are always the least interesting. Who did what, and when? But with the events, the names become legendary. Perhaps you know these names? Arca Jeth, the Great Swordsman. Tott Doneeta, the beast empath. The brothers Qel-Droma, Ulic and Cay. And lest we forget, Nomi Sunrider, the unwitting Heroine of the Force.

VAL (V.O.)

All those Jedi were directly involved with the success of defeating the Naddist Uprising.

DACE DIATH enters and finds the body of TOTT DONEETA.

CALMIR (V.O.)

You know your history. Then you know what happened after the defeat of the Naddists. And why, in our day, there are only two Sith at any time.

SETT kills DACE

INT - ASSAULT TRANSPORT BRIDGE - SPACE                    130

VAL (V.O.)

The Sith turned against each other. Slaughtered their own, until one was left. He decided that to avoid complete extinction there could be only two. A master and an apprentice.

The other Jedi hear DACE’S screams.

ARCA JETH

Ulic, Cay, go investigate.

ULIC and CAY exit.

INT - ASSAULT TRANSPORT CORRIDOR - SPACE                  131

CALMIR (V.O.)

But, one must wonder, what would have happened if the Naddist Uprising succeeded? How might the Sith have changed?

ULIC and CAY enter.

ULIC

Master Arca, both Dace and Tott are dead. Cari is seriously injured.

ARCA JETH

What happened?

CAY

Master, there must be someone else on board, but I can’t sense them. I…

CARI stands.

VAL (V.O.)

I don’t know.

INT - ASSAULT TRANSPORT BRIDGE - SPACE                    132

CALMIR (V.O.)

They would have united against the Jedi until one, or both, were extinct. But, you might ask, what does this supposition have to do with me? Suppose these key figures, these pawns of prophecy were unable to complete their destiny. Who might destiny choose to take their place? Or would history simply take a different course?

The Jedi hear ULIC and CAY die. They draw their lightsabers. CARI enters.

CARI

It killed them… Killed them all…

ARCA JETH

You’re safe now. What was it?

They protect CARI. She stands behind them then duels QRRL, killing him.

CALMIR (V.O.)

What if they were stopped, simply because of interference from a few rogue time travelers? Maybe you saved someone’s life who was supposed to die. Maybe you hindered the Jedi’s response time with your sudden appearance. Perhaps even caused someone important to die. Would you replace those whom destiny appointed as Heroes of the Age? What if it was entirely your fault? How could you repair it? How would you make amends if the slightest interference could change the path of history?

ARCA JETH, NOMI, and KITH duel CARI. CARI kills KITH.

VAL (V.O.)

Any interference would be your fault. You brought us back here.

CARI turns into SETT.

ARCA JETH (CONT’D)

A doppelganger!

SETT duels ARCA JETH and NOMI. He kills them.

CALMIR (V.O.)

No, my friend. You brought me back. Just like this Dreamscape, I simply presented the opportunity, the Codex was your key, and you opened the door.

SET turns into CARI, jettisons an escape pod, and pilots.

INT - CALMIR’S LIBRARY - DREAMSCAPE                       133

CALMIR

Without you, this would never have happened. You have my gratitude.

VAL

I don’t want your gratitude, I want to return home.

CALMIR

Well, there are two ways of doing that. First, you could put yourself in a cryo-capsule for about four thousand years OR, you could take the Addius Vaquila from me by force, a comical thought at best, and repeat the same scenario that brought you back. Of course, doing it wrong may just send you back further. Personally, I think you’d have better chances with the cryo-capsule.

INT - TRIBUNAL CHAMBER - DUSK                             134

The Tribunal is a small arena surrounded on all sides by balcony seating. RASHA and PLAN B watch in the audience. On one side, the Tribunal sits. CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH enter. DUCARR, the lead Judge, speaks.

DUCARR

Do you, the accused, agree to accept the judgment of our great and wise tribunal?

BIPH

(Whisper)

(To CORRIN) If we say no, would it matter?

CORRIN

We will accept your great and wise judgment.

DUCARR

Very well. You stand accused of treason, sedition, resisting arrest, assault on an Iger, illegal possession of a Sword of Light, and practicing the Dark Craft. How do you plead?

CORRIN

Innocent.

DUCARR

You may now present your case.

CORRIN tells DUCARR his story. Only LILY can see ISIS and OSIRIS in the audience.

CORRIN

…That was when your Iger attacked me. I was forced to defend myself and my friends from him.

DUCARR

An interesting tale. Yechin, they are yours to interrogate.

YECHIN

Yes, oh great one. Corrin Wyndryder. You claim not to have had any knowledge of our culture. Is that true?

CORRIN

It is.

YECHIN

And is it true that your actions were completely acceptable in the culture you hail from?

CORRIN

Yes.

YECHIN

Then why come here? To force your culture upon our own?

CORRIN

No. We came in search of someone. Once we found him, we would leave.

YECHIN

Ah, and would taking him by force be acceptable in your culture?

CORRIN

Acceptable? No, unless dire needs demand it.

YECHIN

Now, there are some heavy charges placed upon you, Treason and Sedition among them.

CORRIN

If we knew the way your culture treats their King beforehand, none of this would have happened.

YECHIN

Uh huh. And if murder, which is against our culture, is acceptable in yours, we should let you go.

CORRIN

We didn’t kill anybody.

YECHIN

No, but treason is a greater crime than murder. And greater than treason is heresy. Tell me, why do you have a Sword of Light?

CORRIN

It was my father’s.

YECHIN

And who was your Father?

CORRIN

The Great Dais Wyndryder, Brigadier General and Jedi Knight.

YECHIN

A large title. We have no record of him. How did he get a Sword of Light?

CORRIN

He built it himself.

The AUDIENCE murmurs.

YECHIN

Mister Wyndryder.

CORRIN

Major.

YECHIN

I beg your pardon?

CORRIN

Major Wyndryder. I didn’t spend eight years in the special forces of the Republic Navy to be called Mister.

YECHIN

MAJOR Wyndryder, are you claiming that a Sword of Light can be constructed by a mere mortal? They exist as gifts of the Almighty Hethlocke.

CORRIN

And who told you that?

YECHIN

It would appear you know very little about a great many things, MAJOR Wyndryder.

DUCARR

That’s enough Yechin. We will now recess. The Tribunal will cast it judgment at dawn tomorrow.

BIPH

(Whisper)

You didn’t happen to mind trick them into giving us an innocent verdict, did you?

CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH exit.

ISIS

I have a score to settle.

ISIS exits.

INT - PRISON BLOCK - NIGHT                                135

CARN and ASTER enter. They find CORRIN, LILY, & BIPH’S cell.

CARN

Hey, guys.

BIPH

You found us. Great. Get us out of here.

CORRIN

We can’t do that, Biph.

BIPH

Come on, boss. You know they’ll find us guilty. This whole tribunal is a mockery. It’s a public witch-hunt.

CORRIN

I understand that, Biph. But if we run now, they’ll hunt us down until we’re dead.

BIPH

They don’t even have the technology to get into orbit, much less Hyperspace.

CORRIN

We still have a mission to complete. We can’t find Taboon while we’re on the run.

CARN
What do you suggest?

CORRIN

Here’s the plan.

INT - CITY STREETS - NIGHT                                136

RASHA and PLAN B enter.

RASHA

We had better find Taboon, and fast. I think we should split up.

PLAN B

Is that wise?

RASHA

I’m a big girl. I can handle myself.

PLAN B exits. ISIS captures RASHA.

ISIS

Hello, my little morsel. You didn’t think you’d actually escape me, did you?

RASHA

No! You can’t be real.

ISIS

Oh, can’t I?

RASHA duels ISIS. ISIS wins.

ISIS (CONT’D)

Is that all you’ve got? I’m disappointed. And after all this time I was expecting a real Jedi.

PLAN B violently rescues RASHA from ISIS.

ISIS (CONT’D)

Ooh, a challenge.

ISIS fights PLAN B. ISIS knocks out PLAN B. TABOON enters and rescues PLAN B. TABOON duels ISIS with artifacts.

ISIS (CONT’D)

You’re going to have to do better than that.

TABOON

Wisdom teaches not to strive for better, but to achieve one’s best.

TABOON knocks out ISIS.

TABOON (CONT’D)

A thousand words can not cry as loud as a single action…

RASHA

Taboon, I’m glad we finally found you.

TABOON

You cannot find what hath found thee first.

PLAN B

Hey Bud, why’ve you been looking for us?

TABOON

Thou canst lead me to find the man who is the unbalance.

RASHA

Look, Val is not causing any problems.

TABOON

Nay not that one, the King from your Time.

RASHA

How do you know we’re not from your time?

PLAN B

We never had a King our time… we had an Emperor once… but we killed him quite thoroughly…

RASHA

The Emperor is STILL alive?!

They hear guards approaching.

TABOON

Make haste, for the paladins assemble.

RASHA

We must get to the Tribunal.

TABOON, RASHA, and PLAN B run at a wall.

RASHA (CONT’D)

I can’t climb that!

TABOON

Climb?

TABOON uses an artifact and they exit run through the wall. OSIRIS enters. ISIS wakes up.

OSIRIS

I take it, it didn’t go well.

ISIS

I’m going to kill that blue freak.

OSIRIS

We have greater concerns, Isis. Come with me.

ISIS and OSIRIS exit.

EXT - OSSUS JEDI CITY - DAY                               137

CARI’S transport crashes into the city. CARI enters.

CARI

I have to speak to Master Albon.

CARI faints.

JEDI

Take her to the infirmary.

The Jedi exit carrying CARI.

INT - OSSUS INFIRMARY - DAY                               138

ALBON enters.

HEALER

She asked for you by name.

ALBON

Take me to her.

HEALER takes ALBON to CARI.

CARI

Master Albon?

ALBON

Yes, my child, I’m here.

CARI

It was… a Sith… Killed everyone…

ALBON

How did you manage to escape?

CARI

I lured him into an escape pod…

ALBON

Rest now.

CARI sleeps.

HEALER

She’ll make it. She just needs rest.

ALBON

And the others? Arca Jeth? Nomi Sunrider?

HEALER

I’m sorry. There were no other survivors.

ALBON

What do I tell Vima? She’s only 3. First Andur, now this… (PAUSE) We’ve underestimated the power of the Sith. I will not make the same mistake again.

ALBON exits.

INT - A DARK MEDITATION CHAMBER - DAY                     139

ALBON enters. MASTER THON meditates.

ALBON

We need your help.

THON

What service can I provide you, Master Albon?

ALBON

The Sith are stronger than we had anticipated. We must move against them, quickly, before they grow too powerful. One of their number killed seven of our Jedi with ease. I need your strength.

THON

Then you shall have it.

ALBON

Thank you, Master Thon.

INT - TRIBUNAL CHAMBER - DAWN                             140

RASHA, TABOON, and PLAN B sit in the AUDIENCE. CORRIN, LILY, and BIPH enter with GUARDS. The Tribunal stands.

DUCARR

We, the Great and Wise Tribunal, pass judgment on you. On the charge of treason we find the accused… innocent. On the charge of sedition we find the accused… innocent. On the charge of resisting arrest we find the accused… guilty. On the charge of assault on an Iger, we find the accused, Major Wyndryder… guilty. On the charge of illegal possession of a Sword of Light we find the accused, Major Wyndryder… guilty. And on the charge of practicing the Dark Craft we find the accused… innocent.

YECHIN

Biph Ddooge, Lily Wyndryder, we sentence you to time served. You are free to go. We suggest you learn our laws if you wish to remain here with us. Major Corrin Wyndryder, for the crimes of Assault on an Iger and Illegal possession of a Sword of Light, we sentence you do death… by beheading.

LILY

NO!!!

DUCARR

Guards, take him away.

Two Guards approach CORRIN. CARN, PEREZ, and ASTER enter.

CARN

CORRIN! CATCH!

CARN tosses CORRIN his lightsaber.

CARN (CONT’D)

All right you primitive savages. This mockery of justice is over.

LILY

Carn! It was a fair trial!

CARN (CONT’D)

Oh, um… Well, I’m still taking my friends and leaving!

The AUDIENCE screams in fear.

RASHA

CARN!! THE EMPEROR’S ALIVE!!!

50 Stormtroopers enter and shoot.

CARN

Get into the arena, I’ll cover you.

CARN kills 3 Stormtroopers. The HEROES dive into the arena.

CORRIN

You found Taboon.

RASHA

I did. The Emperor’s alive. He brought Isis.

ASTER

But I saw Val kill him.

BIPH

Can we discuss this after we’re not getting shot at?

They exit.

INT - NARROW CORRIDOR - DAY                               141

The HEROES find their way down the corridors.

RASHA

How do we get out?

PLAN B, RASHA, TABOON, and PEREZ are separated from ASTER, CORRIN, BIPH, CARN, and LILY.

CARN (V.O.)

Rasha, are you all right?

RASHA

Yeah, we’re fine. Meet us back at Corrin’s ship.

RASHA, PLAN B, TABOON, and PEREZ exit.

CORRIN

Follow me.

CORRIN, LILY, CARN, ASTER, and BIPH exit.

INT - NARROW CORRIDOR - DAY                               142

RASHA, PLAN B, TABOON, and PEREZ enter. 6 Stormtroopers enter.

PLAN B

I’ll handle this.

PLAN B stands before the Stormtroopers. They exit, running.

RASHA

That’s one way to handle it. Let’s go.

INT - NARROW CORRIDOR - DAY                               143

CARN, CORRIN, LILY, ASTER, and BIPH enter. 15 Stormtroopers fire at them.

CARN

I can’t hit them from here.

CORRIN

You’re from Corellia, right?

CARN

Yeah… Why?

CORRIN

Ever play stickball?

CARN shoots at CORRIN. CORRIN kills 9 Stormtroopers.

ASTER

That’s was easy.

LILY

A little too easy.

BIPH

I have a bad feeling about this.

INT - RANCOR PIT - DAY                                    144

CORRIN, CARN, BIPH, ASTER, and LILY enter. A Rancor roars

BIPH

A very bad feeling…

A Rancor enters. CORRIN rescues CARN from the Rancor.

CORRIN

Our weapons won’t work. We must be in a null zone.

The Rancor knocks out ASTER.

CARN

ASTER!!

CARN throws stones at the Rancor’s head.

CARN

Hey! HEY!! Over here!

The Rancor looks at CARN.

CARN

(To Himself) Not my brightest idea…

The RANCOR knocks CARN away.

CARN (CONT’D)

Definitely not my brightest idea.

CORRIN

Did you bring the syntherope?

CARN

Yeah, why?

CORRIN

Just follow my lead.

CORRIN and CARN tie up the Rancor’s legs.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

Biph! Stake it down!

CORRIN, CARN and BIPH stake down the Rancor. ASTER wakes up.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

Aster, Lily, distract it.

They tie down the Rancor.

INT - ABOVE THE RANCOR PIT - DAY                          145

OSIRIS quits using his Orb, smiling wickedly. OSIRIS exits.

INT - RANCOR PIT - DAY                                    146

The Rancor disappears.

CARN

Hey, my arm’s better. It was an illusion?

ASTER

Try your blaster again.

CARN’S blaster works.

CORRIN

All right, let’s go.

INT - NARROW CORRIDOR - DAY                               147

RASHA, PLAN B, TABOON, and PEREZ enter. ISIS blocks an exit.

PEREZ

I’ll handle this. The rest of you, go.

PEREZ duels ISIS.

RASHA

Is he insane? He can’t possibly win. What is he doing?

TABOON

Buying us time.

RASHA, PLAN B, and TABOON exit.

INT - CAVERN - DAY                                        148

CORRIN, LILY, ASTER, BIPH, and CARN enter.

CORRIN

I smell fresh air. There’s an exit this way.

12 Stormtroopers enter and fight. BIPH dies. Lily is mortally wounded.

CORRIN

No! Hold on, Lily. You’re going to make it.

LILY

(Weakly)

Corrin… I love you…

CORRIN

Hold on.

CORRIN tries to use the Force to heal her. LILY dies.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

Lily? Lily!? NO!!!

CORRIN holds LILY. Many more Stormtroopers enter.

CARN

Corrin! We have to go!

CORRIN

I’m not leaving her!

CARN

You have to!

CORRIN slashes at CARN, cutting his shirt.

ASTER

Corrin! Pull yourself together!

CORRIN, CARN, and ASTER exit. The Stormtroopers enter and exit. CALMIR enters.

CALMIR

Well done, my child. You may rise now.

LILY turns into KAEL.

KAEL

At last, Lily is dead.

CALMIR

That was quit a performance, you nearly convinced me. Corrin must have truly loved you. His true power is beginning to surface and there is yet much potential. I could turn him for you. Then you could be with him again.

KAEL

No. He’s a Jedi. I’m a Calmirian. That is the way of things. When the time is right, I will kill him myself.

CALMIR

If that is what you wish… Val should be waking up right about now. By the time they make it to Onderon, however, my plans will already be in motion.

CALMIR and KAEL exit.

INT - ALDERAAN HOSPITAL - DAY                             149

RAE’CHELL and JOAH-QUIN watch over VAL. VAL wakes up.

VAL
Calmir’s alive.

JOAH-QUIN

Yes, we know. What happened?

VAL

He trapped me in a Dreamscape. Rae’Chell?

RAE’CHELL

Your friends are in trouble. We have to help them.

INT - CAVERN - DAY                                        150

ASTER, CARN, CORRIN, RASHA, PLAN B, and TABOON enter.

RASHA

Where’s Lily? And Biph?

CORRIN

They’re dead.

CARN

Where’s Perez?

PEREZ enters.

PEREZ

Over here.

RASHA

I thought you were dead for sure. Did you kill him?

PEREZ

No. But it’ll be some time before he finds his way out of here. Let’s go.

All exit.

EXT - REMOTE PLAINS - DAY                                 151

CORRIN, PEREZ, RASHA, PLAN B, and TABOON enter the MIRAGE I. CARN and ASTER enter the DEATHWIND. They fly into space. The DEATHWIND docks with the MIRAGE I.

WE’SEL’S SSD blocks the MIRAGE I from escaping.

CORRIN

Engaging the Sensor Cloak.

INT - STAR DESTROYER BRIDGE - SPACE                       153

LIEUTENANT

Sir, the ship has a cloaking device. Our weapons can’t target it.

WE’SEL

Then fire at it manually.

The SSD fires barrages of torpedoes and energy blasts at the Mirage I.

INT - MIRAGE I BRIDGE - SPACE                             154

JEDI 2

Take a look at this.

INT - JEDI CRUISER BRIDGE - SPACE                         157

JEDI 1 (O.S.)

There was no one here, only a garrison. It seems like the majority of them left in a big hurry.

ALBON

Return to base. Over. (To HIMSELF) They knew we were coming. Where did they go?

JEDI LIEUTENANT

Master Albon, we’re picking up a major distress call from Coruscant. They’re under attack.

ALBON

A diversion! All ships, to Coruscant at once!

FLASHBACK:

EXT - IMPERIAL CORUSCANT STREET - NIGHT                   158

CORRIN, RIO, and DORVIN enter.

RIO

What are we doing here?

CORRIN

Showing you something I learned.

CORRIN hacks into an ATM.

DORVIN

How did you do that?

CORRIN

I’m not sure how to explain it. But I basically told the machine that I have this money.

DORVIN

Who’d you steal it from?

CORRIN

Nobody. It thinks it’s correcting an error in the system. It’s creating money.

RIO

Corrin, you’re unbelievable.

RIO kisses CORRIN’S cheek.

CORRIN

Thanks, Rio. There is a downside to this though.

DORVIN

What’s that?

CORRIN

In small amounts, it’s almost untraceable, but the larger the sum, the more questions asked. I can’t just make us millionaires overnight.

RIO

We don’t need to be millionaires.

DORVIN

Are you sure we won’t get caught?

CORRIN

Positive.

DORVIN

Then I suppose those troopers are here for the air.

DORVIN draws his blaster.

CORRIN

DORVIN, NO!

The Stormtroopers kill DORVIN. RIO is mortally wounded.

RIO

Corrin, there’s something I should have told you before.

CORRIN

Shh, Rio. Don’t speak. Everything will be fine. I’ll get you to a medical facility, they’ll fix you up. They’ll…

RIO

I love you…

RIO dies.

CORRIN

No… NOOO!!!!!

FLASHFORWARD:

INT - CORRIN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                           159

CORRIN does calisthenics.

CORRIN

57… 58… 59… 60… 61…

VAL and RASHA enter. CORRIN continues counting.

RASHA

He’s been like this since Lily died. He’s going to kill himself if he doesn’t stop.

VAL

Corrin. Corrin? Corrin, snap out of it.

CORRIN

66… 67… 68…

VAL

Listen to me, Corrin. This won’t bring Lily back.

CORRIN

71… 72… 73…

VAL

Lily’s gone! Deal with it!

CORRIN

I should have saved her. I should have done SOMETHING!

VAL

We need you, Corrin. Don’t abandon us now.

CORRIN

I’ll just you get killed like the others. You can’t rely on me. You’ll have to go without me.

VAL

Pull yourself together, soldier. I can’t do this without you. You’re a Jedi. Act like one.

CORRIN

My wife died in my arms. She meant everything to me. It took all my Jedi training just to keep from… (SOBS) to keep from turning. I could have killed everyone there. EVERYONE! The power, the temptation was overwhelming.

RASHA

I lost my first master to a bloodthirsty animal. I was too weak to do any good. She died right in front of me. I’m still haunted by that memory. I keep wishing I was stronger, wishing I had done something more. But wishing does no good. You’re still alive. We need you. I need you. Now, instead of wishing her back, do something. Help us make sure Calmir can’t hurt anyone else.

CORRIN

(Whisper)

Rasha, let me tell you a secret. The Force wanted her dead. It would not let me heal her. Tell me why. Why did that happen?

RASHA

I don’t know. (PAUSE) Please, Corrin.

PEREZ enters.

PEREZ

I’ve just received word from the Jedi Council. Coruscant is under attack by the Sith.

INT - OSSUS INFIRMARY - DUSK                              160

CARI wakes up alone, looks around, and calmly walks out. She kills a guard that tries to stop her.

EXT - OSSUS DOCKING BAY - DUSK                            161

CARI steals a ship, turns back into SETT, and takes off.

INT - JEDI CRUSIER WAR ROOM - SPACE                       162

CORRIN, VAL, RAE’CHELL, CARN, ASTER, RASHA, PLAN B, TABOON, JOAH-QUIN, and PEREZ enter. ALBON paces. Several Jedi Pilots and Warriors sit waiting.

ALBON

Good, you’re here. I had hoped we could prevent you from becoming too involved in our problems, but we have no choice.

VAL

We understand, Master Albon. In some way, this is our responsibility.

ALBON

Please sit down.

The HEROES sit.

ALBON (CONT’D)

As you might already know, the Naddists have taken control of Coruscant’s Planetary Defense Grid. Any approach would be suicide, even for us. Fortunately, we have been able to make contact through a coded channel with the Jedi Knights posted on Coruscant. This is Jedi Master Gerth Hoss.

GERTH

The Sith have taken over the districts of Vallen and Gorman. They’re spreading like an infection. I’ve gathered together as many freedom fighters as I could, but it isn’t enough. The resistance is ready for a full on assault, but we need a diversion.

ALBON

That’s where we come in. Major Corrin, the guidance systems of the Grid’s weapons would be completely unable to detect your ship, is that correct?

CORRIN

Yes, Master Albon.

ALBON

That’s where we need you. The Fleet will stay behind, allowing you enough time to deactivate the main cannon posted in the Vallen district. Then the Fleet will move in, deploying our ground forces to liberate Vallen and Gorman from the Sith.

CORRIN

Easier said than done.

ALBON

You also have a secondary mission. After disabling the guns in Vallen, you must take down the shield generator located in the Gorman district so we can safely bomb the areas controlled by the Sith with our Fleet while preventing escape.

VAL

That could get expensive to rebuild.

ALBON

Right now, the lives of civilians are more important than the cost of rebuilding.

CARN

What about the enemy fleet? It’s got to be there.

ALBON

That’s why the whole Fleet is going. The Armadas of Corellia and Alderaan will be joining us soon.

CARN

That could work.

ALBON

No further questions? Then may the Force be with us.

ALL exit except ALBON and ADMIRAL DARGA.

DARGA

The reinforcement fleet hasn’t arrived yet. They’re still several hours away.

ALBON

We have to deploy now. The Sith are too dangerous. If they completely take over Coruscant, there’ll be no stopping them.

DARGA

And if their fleet defeats us? What then?

ALBON

We can hold our own. Admiral, those people need our help and they need it now.

DARGA

I don’t like this. I don’t like this one bit.

INT – CRUSIER HALLWAYS – SPACE                            163

TABOON walks. JOAH-QUIN, VAL, and RASHA enter.

VAL

Wait, Taboon. Rasha told me what you said. How did you know we’re not from this time?

TABOON

Because this cannot be reproduced.

TABOON holds the Codex.

JOAH-QUIN

You have a Codex, too?

VAL

The Codex… Of this time.

TABOON

The Darkness desires this. Keep it safe as a hen guards her eggs.

TABOON gives JOAH-QUIN the Codex.

INT - CARN’S QUARTERS - SPACE                             164

PEREZ

Remember, there are creatures down there that could kill you with your own blaster fire. You might need this.

PEREZ hands CARN a lightsaber.

PEREZ (CONT’D)

Val had it. It’s time you had it back.

CARN

I had sworn never to touch this thing ever again.

PEREZ

Some promises were never meant to be. Fate is a funny thing that way.

CARN

I’ve noticed.

INT - MIRAGE DOCKING BAY - SPACE                          165

VAL and RAE’CHELL enter from VAL’S SHIP.

RAE’CHELL

This isn’t going to be easy.

VAL

Anything worthwhile never is.

CARN and CORRIN enter.

CORRIN

Have you figured out how that teleporter works?

VAL

Yes, it’s quite simple. It requires a focus. You clear your mind, think of somewhere you want to be, or someone you want to be with, and step into the teleporter.

CARN

Sounds easy.

VAL

For it to work, we need to have a focus. You’d have to have been where you want go. Not one of us has been down there.

CORRIN

Then someone will have to get down there so we can use it.

VAL

I volunteer.

CORRIN

Nonsense. I have the most experience with infiltration. I’ll go. You need to stay behind to operate your teleporter.

VAL

How? How will you go?

CORRIN

I have an X-Wing, I’ll manage.

VAL

They’ll be able to target you. You heard Master Albon, not even Jedi can fly through those defenses.

PLAN B enters.

PLAN B

He’ll go with me. My ship has a visual cloak. We could land and no one would know.

INT - STALKER III COCKPIT - SPACE                         166

We’ve got the all clear. Rasha, you go first. Remember, this will be a little disorienting, and at this distance, passing out is quite possible. Just clear your mind and think of Corrin. He’s where you want to be. Now the ship will be out of range after I come down. Squeaker will be keeping an eye on things, and come down for us when the time is right.

RASHA enters VAL’S SHIP. Then all the HEROES enter.

INT - BUNKER COMPLEX - DAY                                169

In order, RASHA, CARN, ASTER, TABOON, PEREZ, JOAH-QUIN, RAE’CHELL, and VAL materialize near CORRIN and PLAN B.

CARN

Do the headaches ever get better?

VAL

I sure hope so.

CORRIN

You four, come with me. Val, take the others and deactivate the Generator. Move.

VAL, RASHA, PLAN B, TABOON, and RAE’CHELL exit one way. CORRIN, CARN, ASTER, PEREZ, and JOAH-QUIN exit another way.

INT - BUNKER CORRIDOR - DAY                               170

VAL and RAE’CHELL enters. They are stopped by 2 SITH.

SITH 1

What have we here?

SITH 2

Nothing much, it would seem.

The 2 Sith duel VAL & RAE’CHELL. RAE’CHELL saves VAL’S life.

RAE’CHELL

Now Dek’Sha is satisfied.

RASHA, TABOON, and PLAN B enter.

TABOON

Touch not the Tya, lest the Serpent has eyes.

VAL

Did anybody catch that?

RASHA

Don’t use the Force, or the bad guys will find us.

They exit.

INT - BUNKER COMPLEX - DAY                                171

CORRIN’S team enters.

PEREZ

I sense a great evil. The others are in grave danger. I must warn them.

CORRIN

Don’t go alone. Take Joah-Quin with you. Don’t hit the recall button, the distance could kill you. Keep an open channel so we can find you.

PEREZ and JOAH-QUIN exit.

INT - CONTROL ROOM - DAY                                  172

CORRIN, CARN, and ASTER enter. Alarm.

CARN

It wasn’t my fault.

CORRIN

It was mine. I can’t shut it off.

ASTER

Forget the alarm! What about the cannon?

CORRIN

Done. Send the all clear.

INT - JEDI CRUSIER BRIDGE - SPACE                         173

VAL’S team enters. RAE’CHELL hears a voice and exits.

INT - A DARK ROOM - DAY                                    175

RAE’CHELL enters. KAEL enters.

KAEL

(Dathomir)

Hail, Nightsister.

RAE’CHELL

(Dathomir)

A Sister? Here?

KAEL

No. Far from it. I hope you don’t mind my speaking basic again. I find your language quite distasteful.

RAE’CHELL

Who are you? You wear a mask? Sisters do not wear masks to hide themselves.

KAEL

I am not hiding myself. This is who I am. The face underneath is the real mask.

RAE’CHELL

What do you want with me?

KAEL

I challenge you to Dek’Sha. If you refuse, I will kill you anyway.

RAE’CHELL

(Dathomir)

En Garde.

KAEL duels RAE’CHELL. RAE’CHELL wins.

KAEL

Impressive. You’re skill with weapons exceeds my own. I shall have to practice.

RAE’CHELL

No need. I will finish this fight.

KAEL

This fight was decided before it even began.

KAEL uses sorcery to defeat RAE’CHELL.

RAE’CHELL

(Weakly)

…Why?

KAEL

Honor. Vendetta.

KAEL turns into LILY.

RAE’CHELL

You?! I don’t know why, but I’m not surprised. You’ve lied to everyone. When you die, no one will care. Your life of deception has already killed your heart. At least I will die with honor.

LILY

Honor? What about Corrin’s honor? Have you forgotten what you did to him at his banquet? Perhaps I won’t die with honor, but Corrin will.

LILY kills RAE’CHELL. SETT enters, applauding.

SETT

A beautiful display, Kael. I’m impressed. But I wonder… Why did you permit her to even attack you? She was only a Nightsister.

KAEL

So was I, once. I needed to gauge my abilities. This assignment has left me quite out of practice.

SETT

If it’s practice you need, I could volunteer myself as an opponent.

KAEL

She didn’t hold back. You would have to.

(PAUSE)

SETT

Do you love him? (PAUSE) I know the master approves of love, but he is a Jedi. If it will save you the pain, I could…

KAEL

I’ve been over this with your father. I will handle him, by myself. If you interfere, I will personally make sure there isn’t enough of you left to clone back.

SETT

As you wish. As for the assassination, you should know that your target is among the other team. The time is now. There’s a shortcut that way.

SETT points. KAEL exits.

INT - DARK CORRIDOR - DAY                                 176

PEREZ and JOAH-QUIN enter. ISIS captures JOAH-QUIN. PEREZ exits.

ISIS

Please struggle. Give me a reason to kill you.

ISIS knocks out JOAH-QUIN. 4 Stormtroopers enter.

ISIS (CONT’D)

Take him to the command ship.

ISIS exits.

The Jedi cheer.

INT - JEDI COMMAND SHIP BRIDGE - SPACE                    179

DARGA

Surround the planet, but keep your distance. We don’t want to set off the automatic Defense Grid. We only need to keep the Sith from escaping, so do not attack unless fired upon.

The Star Destroyers and the Sith Fleet enter.

LIEUTENANT

Admiral, we’ve got enemy ships coming in from sector 6.

DARGA

All ships come about, engage the hostiles. Look at the size of it… Launch all fighters!

INT - DARK CORRIDOR - DAY                                 180

VAL, RASHA, TABOON, and PLAN B enter.

VAL

Where’s Rae’Chell?

RASHA

I didn’t see her.

VAL

I have to find her. You keep going, I’ll catch up.

VAL exits.

INT - A DARK ROOM - DAY                                   181

VAL enters. He finds RAE’CHELL dead. SETT steps forward.

SETT

How touching. A Jedi mourns the passing of a Nightsister. I think I’m going to gag.

VAL

Who are you? Did you do this?

SETT

No, but I watched. (PAUSE) I am Calheir Sett, son of Emperor Calmir and Heir to his Great Empire. Prepare to die, Lainli!

SETT duels VAL. SETT wins. VAL escapes. SETT exits.

INT - BUNKER COMPLEX - DAY                                182

CARN, ASTER, and CORRIN enter.

CARN

Where are all the Sith?

ASTER

Count your blessings. Most of ‘em are outside.

Many Stormtroopers enter.

ASTER (CONT’D)

We’re trapped.

CORRIN

Carn, lay down cover fire.

CORRIN and ASTER enter the ventilation shaft.

CARN

Take Aster and go. Get the ship down here. I’ll teleport back.

CORRIN

But!

CARN

I’ll be fine. Go!

ASTER

Don’t worry. He’s too stubborn to die.

CORRIN

This way.

EXT - CORUSCANT CITYSCAPE - DAY                           183

ALBON and THON lead the Jedi army and battle the Sith. The Cannons fire.

INT - JEDI COMMAND SHIP BRIDGE - SPACE                    184

A barrage of fire comes from Coruscant, destroying one Jedi Carrier.

DARGA

All ships, move the fleet away from the planet. Where the blazes are those reinforcements?

INT - SHEILD GENERATOR - DAY                              185

PLAN B, RASHA, and TABOON enter. SETT stands, waiting.

PLAN B

I’ll handle this.

SETT fights PLAN B. PLAN B wins. CALMIR enters.

CALMIR

Put him down, ******, now.

PLAN B

How do you know that name?

CALMIR

I named you. You were a magnificent creation, my greatest project and my greatest disappointment. You were my only failure. A pity, really, you had such promise.

CALMIR fights PLAN B. PLAN B almost wins, but CALMIR kills him.

RASHA

NO!!!

TABOON and RASHA exit.

INT - STALKER III COCKPIT - DAY                           186

FERRIA senses PLAN B’S death and exits the STALKER III.

INT - GENERATOR CORE ROOM - DAY                           187

TABOON and RASHA enter.

RASHA

He killed him. He KILLED him!

TABOON

The sky hath not yet fallen. We have a task yet unfinished.

RASHA destroys the controls. VAL enters.

RASHA

Val!

VAL

It’s done. It’s time to go.

INT - A DARK ROOM - DAY                                   188

CORRIN and ASTER crawl through the ventilation shaft.

ASTER

Roger that, Val.

ASTER drops down a shaft and into a dark room.

CORRIN

Aster!

ASTER sees KAEL.

KAEL

There you are. I’ve been waiting for you to drop in. I’m afraid I’m going to have to kill you now, but don’t worry, it’s for a good cause.

KAEL fights ASTER. ASTER collapses.

KAEL (CONT’D)

Silly girl.

CORRIN saves ASTER from KAEL.

CORRIN

You can’t have her, Sith Witch.

KAEL

You couldn’t possibly win against me.

CORRIN

We’ll see about that.

CORRIN and KAEL duel. KAEL wins, but retreats.

ASTER

Why did she leave?

CORRIN

I don’t know. Let’s get you out of here. (into comlink) Squeaker, move the ship into low orbit.

ASTER accidentally drops her comlink. CORRIN and ASTER exit.

INT - JEDI COMMAND SHIP BRIDGE - SPACE                    189

DARGA

The shield is down. Deploy the bombers.

The Jedi Fleet bombs the planet. Reinforcements arrive and save the day.

DARGA (CONT’D)

It’s about time you showed up.

INT - BUNKER COMPLEX - DAY                                190

CARN enters.

CARN

(into comlink) Aster? Aster, come in.

CARN sees DANZ kill ASTER.

CARN (CONT’D)

NO!!!

DANZ

You weakling. You thought you could save her from me? You don’t have that kind of power!

CARN

Yes, I do!

CARN duels DANZ. DANZ retreats. CARN exits. DANZ enters, and turns into OSIRIS holding his orb. ASTER turns into ISIS.

ISIS

(Sarcastically)

Oh, my hero.

OSIRIS

Get up. We’re not done yet.

INT – BUNKER COMPLEX – DAY                                191

CARN enters. PEREZ stops him.

PEREZ

Whoa, hold on there, where are you going in such a hurry?

CARN

Where is he?!

PEREZ

Who?

CARN

That Sith Lord that came down this way!

PEREZ

Carn, what happened?

CARN

   (Painfully)

…Aster…

PEREZ

He attacked Aster? Well surely you were strong enough to save her, right? (PAUSE) Then… you must learn to forget her.

CARN

NEVER! She was my wife.

PEREZ

Pull yourself together, the Jedi do not mourn.

Emotion leads to the Dark Side.

CARN

I AM NOT A JEDI!

PEREZ

If you are not of the Jedi, then you are of the Dark Side.

CARN exits.

EXT - CORUSCANT CITYSCAPE - DAY                           192

CORRIN and ASTER enter.

CORRIN

My ship should be here any minute. Once it’s in range, you recall yourself out of here.

ASTER

I’m not going to make it. You have to heal me.

CORRIN

I can’t. I couldn’t even heal Lily.

ASTER

You have to… I know you can… Please…

CORRIN heals ASTER.

ASTER (CONT’D)

I knew you could…

ASTER pushes a button and disappears.

CORRIN

R4, Come pick me up!

INT – A DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                               193

CARN enters. CALMIR blocks the way.

CALMIR

Where are you off to in such a hurry?

CARN

I don’t have time for you.

CALMIR

Oh now, is that anyway to greet me, after all I had done you?

CARN

You lied to me!

CALMIR

Don’t play ignorant with me. Some truths you are taught directly, others you must be led to find on your own.

CARN

You lied… you said there weren’t Light and Dark Sides to the Force, but there are.

CALMIR

And when Val came to rebuke you, what precious truth did you learn?

(PAUSE)

CARN

There are opposites to everything.

CALMIR

Only now you don’t just believe it, you know it, don’t you?

CARN

What are you getting at?

CALMIR

I led you to this truth because you had to learn it for yourself. Light cannot be understood until you experience darkness. Happiness cannot be understood until you experience sadness. And Love cannot be experienced until you know hatred… but Danz Kymehr has already acquainted you with hatred.

CARN

Who is Danz Kymehr?

CALMIR

A rogue Sith Lord who I’m sure you’ve met.

CARN

He killed Aster! He was YOUR pawn?

CALMIR

He has been planning to betray me from the beginning. He knew that both you and Aster were to be left alone. He openly defied me.

CARN

Where is he!

CALMIR

When I tell you, what are you going to do? Murder him like he murdered Aster? Are you going to become no better than him for the sake of vengeance?

CARN

This is not vengeance, this is about justice!

CALMIR

Your testimony alone is not enough to convict Kymehr in a Republic court. Tell me, Carn, where is the justice in that?

CARN

You don’t understand…

CALMIR

And who would understand you, Carn, some ancient Jedi born four millennia before you were?

CARN

Yes! Perez understands me… he understands what I’m going through.

CALMIR

My dear Carn, I am Perez—

CALMIR removes his hood.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

My name is Perez Calmir.

EXT - CORUSCANT CITYSCAPE – DAY                           194

CORRIN’S X-Wing lands. CORRIN gets into the cockpit.

CORRIN

Thanks R4.

FERRIA jumps onto CORRIN’S lap.

CORRIN (CONT’D)

What are you doing here? Oh, well…

CORRIN and FERRIA exit.

INT - DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                                 195

SETT, KAEL, ISIS, and OSIRIS enter.

SETT

Send the evacuation order. The plan has been fulfilled. The Sith will have to fend for themselves.

INT - SUPER STAR DESTROYER BRIDGE – SPACE                 196

WE’SEL

As you command, Calheir. All craft, mission accomplished. Prepare to retreat.

INT - DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                                 197

SETT

Is the shuttle ready?

OSIRIS

Of course.

SETT

I still have a score to settle with a little blue freak.

ISIS

Was this freak carrying artifacts?

SETT

Yes, and I’m going to kill him.

ISIS

Can I come?

EXT - CORUSCANT CITYSCAPE - DAY                           198

ALBON stands before FREEDON NADD.

FREEDON NADD

At last, the Great Jedi Master Albon stands before me. I will enjoy this.

ALBON

You will answer for the lives that were lost this day, Freedon Nadd.

FREEDON NADD duels ALBON.

INT – DARK CORRIDOR - DAY                                 199

SETT, ISIS, OSIRIS, and KAEL enter. ISIS sees TABOON.

ISIS

I saw him first, he’s mine!

ISIS exits.

INT - DARK CORRIDOR - DAY

ISIS duels TABOON.

ISIS (CONT’D)

Hello again, my blue devil! (PAUSE) Well, lack tongue, still nothing to say to your executioner? Ah, yes, actions louder than words, eh? Well try these on for size!

ISIS is winning.

ISIS (CONT’D)

Now you’re in a fix, freak! Death is becoming all the more inevitable for you! (PAUSE) Ah, ah, ah, that’s cheating, my clever one.

TABOON uses the Addius Vaquila.

ISIS (CONT’D)

Oh, bloody…

ISIS exits.

INT – DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                                 200

ISIS enters, running past SETT.

ISIS

(To SETT)He’s all yours…

SETT duels TABOON. SETT and TABOON are seperated. VAL and RASHA enter.

VAL

Don’t run off on us like that. The Vaquila! You had it all along?

INT – DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                                 201

CALMIR

I’ve been watching you for a long time, Carn; in numerous places.

CARN

Why me?

CALMIR

Carn, I always look after my brothers.

CARN

You have no right to call me “brother”; I’m not a part of your religion.

CALMIR

No, Carn, I call you brother because we share the same Father… your real name is not Torrin.

CARN

You think you can deceive me again?! There’s a hundred ways you could find out I was adopted!

CALMIR

How many ways could I know that before you were taken in by Paal and Ellern Torrin, you were the third born of the Baron Larroc of Corellia, along with your sister Mara, your older brother Perez?

CARN

(Vaguely skeptical)

You’re making this up, aren’t you?

CALMIR

(Stern)

When Republic collapsed, our father gave his support to the Rebellion. And the Empire killed him for it! Our once grand family had to live on the run until the Empire slaughtered what was known as our entire family starting with our mother, but just before mother died, I asked father “why”. And his only response was, “Some things in life, we have no control over.”

CALMIR destroys the nearest console with his lightsaber.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

No longer! Now I have control over my destiny… and it is I who has traveled back in time to alter history, Carn. Our family will once again be re-united into the Grand House it once was. I have finally found you, and together, we shall have our justice on the murderous and corrupt people who destroyed our family.

CARN

…But… you can’t use the Dark Side… it’ll turn you evil too…

CALMIR

Oh, how little the Jedi understand. Your blaster, Carn, is a weapon with but one purpose, to kill. But you’re not a murderer, your blaster is a tool like any, which when used by an irresponsible person, can do evil. You don’t forsake your blaster, you use it responsibly… the Dark Side of the Force also is a tool, not to be forsaken, but to be used responsibly.

CALMIR grabs CARN’S lightsaber.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

Come with me, my brother. We shall have our justice of they who destroyed our family, we will have control over our destiny, we will have justice on the man who killed your wife… (PAUSE) and we will be a family again.

CARN takes his lightsaber.

CARN

Where is Kymehr?

CALMIR

Focus your emotion and you will find him. I’ve already taught you what you need to know.

CARN turns to leave.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

Brother?

CALMIR gives CARN the Addius Vaquila.

CALMIR (CONT’D)

You may need this.

INT - IMPERIAL SHUTTLE – SPACE                            202

ISIS, OSIRIS, SETT, and KAEL sit.

ISIS

At least we get to go home again.

OSIRIS

Something like that.

EXT - ORBITING CORUSCANT – SPACE                          203

PILOT 1

Incoming transport.

CORRIN

I got it.

CORRIN turns to fire at the shuttle.

INT - IMPERIAL SHUTTLE – SPACE                            204

KAEL stands up, and puts her hand against the wall.

KAEL (ECHOED)

Don’t shoot…

EXT - ORBITING CORUSCANT – SPACE                          205

The shuttle gets away.

PILOT 1

Corrin? What happened?

CORRIN

I don’t know. I couldn’t pull the trigger.

INT – DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                                 206

DANZ enters. CARN enters. CARN and DANZ duel. CARN kills DANZ. CALMIR enters.

CALMIR

Very good, Anubis. Justice has been paid.

CALMIR and CARN exit.

EXT - CORUSCANT CITYSCAPE – DAY                           207

ALBON defeats FREEDON NADD.

FREEDON NADD

It is too late. Even if you kill me now, the War will go on. The Dark Side will triumph.

ALBON

The Dark Side will never triumph so long as the Light Side stands strong.

ALBON kills FREEDON. The Sith retreat.

INT – DARK CORRIDOR – DAY                                 208

VAL, TABOON, and RASHA hide. CORRIN contacts them.

CORRIN (O.S.)

The Sith are retreating. We’ve won! I’m bringing the ship down. Stand by for recall.

EXT – ORBITING CORUSCANT - SPACE

The Star Destroyers abandon the Sith fleet. The Sith fleet retreats.

LIEUTENNANT

They’re leaving? Why?

DARGA

Don’t jinx it.

INT – MIRAGE I BRIDGE – SPACE                             209

CORRIN, VAL, ASTER, RASHA, and TABOON sit. CORRIN speaks with ALBON on the screen.

ALBON

I want to personally thank you for your help. Without you we would not have saved so many lives.

CORRIN

The Sith escaped. They will return.

ALBON

I know. And we will be ready for them. May the Force be with you, Heroes of the Future.

CORRIN

May the Force be with us all, Master Albon.

Transmission ends.

VAL

We won, but at what price? So many had to die. Rae’Chell, Carn…

ASTER

Carn’s not dead.

VAL

How do you know?

ASTER

I can feel it.

TABOON

Mourn not the passing of they whom have died. They gave their lives to save the galaxy. They are one with the Force.

ALL look at TABOON.

RASHA

You said “the Force.”

TABOON

The Force is. Given any other name, it still is.

(PAUSE)

ASTER

The money you got in the future from the past, don’t you have to do something with it now, so you get it in the future?

VAL

Not necessarily. Perhaps in time.

ASTER

But if you… then how… I’ve got a headache just thinking about it…

CORRIN

Then don’t think about it. Squeaker, take us to Alderaan.

INT – KAEL’S QUARTERS – NIGHT                             210

KAEL sits. CALMIR enters.

CALMIR

What troubles you, child?

KAEL

I’ve failed you, master.

CALMIR

In what way?

KAEL

I couldn’t kill Aster. She’s still alive.

CALMIR

(Soothingly)

Tell me what happened.

KAEL

I had her at my mercy, but Corrin stopped me. I fought him, I defeated him, but I couldn’t bring myself to kill him. I let them escape.

CALMIR

(Soothingly)

I know, I know. You did well, Kael. Events are unfolding has I have designed. I may very well need them alive. Rest now, my child. You are home.

CALMIR exits.

INT – STAR DESTROYER HALL – NIGHT                         211

CALMIR enters. WE’SEL accompanies him.

CALMIR

You have done well, Grand Moff.

WE’SEL

But my liege, we failed to conquer Coruscant.

CALMIR

That was never my goal. Complete conquest of Coruscant might have been attained, but the Sith could never defend it from the rest of the Galaxy.

WE’SEL

But you could have.

CALMIR

Your confidence in me is refreshing, We’Sel. I didn’t want Coruscant for myself. There are some things that are more important than global conquest… Like family.

CARN enters. His face is half covered in ritualistic warpaint.

CALMIR

Isn’t that right, brother?

CARN

Yes, it is.

INT – DERELICT ALTER ROOM – SPACE                         212

VAL, TABOON, ASTER, and RASHA enter.

TABOON

Everything is ready.

VAL

Then let’s do it.

VAL and TABOON put the Codex and the Vaquila into the Alter. Everyone freezes in place. Time restores itself.

ASTER

Did it work?

CORRIN (O.S.)

Well, Alderaan’s gone, but I don’t know if that’s a good sign. Wait. I’m getting a signal. It’s a homing beacon.

INT – MIRAGE I DOCKING BAY – SPACE                        213

CORRIN, VAL, RASHA, TABOON, and ASTER enter. An escape pod enters.

CORRIN

I picked up their distress signal. It was in basic, so that’s a good sign.

AKBAHR, dressed in white robes, enters from the pod. He is followed by a BIPH whose body is half cybernetic.

AKBAHR

You have my most sincere gratitude for rescuing us. I am Senator Akbahr Torrin of Correllia and this is my bodyguard-

CORRIN

Biph?

AKBAHR

Yes, that’s his name. Do you know him?

ASTER

Not anymore.

TABOON

These are your friends, yet not your friends?

VAL

Something like that.

TABOON

Then hope is lost. The balance is completely gone.

VAL

Not while I’m still alive. The Emperor did this and we’re going to fix it.
