| Chapter 1 �Ok this is it, we can do it. We�ve practiced a million times.� 18-year-old Becky Turner said enthusiastically to her 2 best friends. Her long dark straight brown hair was getting in her face, she brushed it back and tucked her gold locket into her shirt. She was sitting with Kat, and Jenna. Both of which she knew from foster care. They where her protectors, after her parents died when she was 15, they where the ones who looked out for her. Kat was the first person she met in her new surrounding. She was almost 18 when they met, but their friendship wasn�t short-lived. Even after she left the group home, she came back to see Becky and Jenna. Although Kat seemed mean, it was only an act. She put up a wall every time she got too close to someone. She tried living with other families but it just wasn�t for her. She was way too independent for that. Then, Becky met Kat�s best friend Jenna. Jenna was her best friend after Kat left. She was closer to her personality, (more girly.) Becky couldn�t understand how Kat and Jenna could be friends. They seemed like night and day. Kat was had short black hair, Jenna had shoulder-length blonde hair. Kat always wore darkish colors, Jenna wore pink and blue and red, anything to stand out. When they stood next to each other, they looked like good and evil. But still Jenna looked out for her, guided and befriended her just as Kat had done. Becky, Kat and Jenna were sitting in the enormous lobby of j records, waiting to be called in for their audition. The girls started their group, Forbidden Love three years ago. About the same time Jenna left, and Kat legally adopted Becky. This was their first major audition and only chance to impress the record exec. The music world is a cruel one to live in. You either sink or swim. These girls were tough, life made it that way for them. They knew if they could get this far, why not goes the rest of the way. A scratchy voice echoed through the room, �Forbidden Love.� The girls walked towards the woman sitting at the desk who called their name. �You�re up next, so get ready, NOW!� The girls just nodded and hurried back to where they had been sitting for some last minute touch ups on makeup and outfits. �Do I look ok?� Becky asked in a whimper. �Becky you look fine.� Jenna answered then nervously added, �Do I look ok? Oh my G-d how am I gonna do this? What if we�re not as good as our demo?� �Jenna, you look great, and we are gonna do just fine� Becky confidently answered. �Thanks Becky� �Anytime. Oh my G-d I�m so nervous, I think I might throw up on the record exec in the middle of the song.� Becky said nervously. �If you guys don�t quit being so girly I think I�m gonna throw up.� Kat chimed in, slightly annoyed. �Sorry Kat.� Becky and Jenna said in unison. �It�s ok, but you guys always do this, you act all girly every time we do something like this. You know if we get famous I�m not-.� Kat�s lecture was cut short by the same scratchy voice as before. �Forbidden Love, go to office C on the 5th floor, and don�t mess anything up! Don�t play in the elevators, don�t bother the security guards and do not, I repeat do not bother any singers!� The girls walked away, they knew the record business was tough, but even the receptionist was mean. Slowly, they walked to the elevator in silence and pressed the button. When they got in and the doors had closed Becky started talking. �What do you think she meant by not to talk to any singers?� �I think she meant not to talk to any singers Becky.� Kat said slowly to Becky like she was three, as she high-fived Jenna. �Thanks Kat I really needed that right now!� Becky said sarcastically. �Hey, if it wasn�t for me you would be a nothing and you wouldn�t even be in here right now. You wouldn�t be in a group, you wouldn�t be seeing someone at a record company, hell you�d probably be on the streets.� Kat said very angrily �I�d be on the street?� At this point Becky was almost in tears thinking about her past. �Guys stop we don�t have time for your stupid arguments right now!� Jenna said separating the two very upset girls, and not a second too soon just then they got to the 5th floor Ding. The girls walked out of the elevator putting their differences aside for the time being. They all walked into a small quaint little office with two little couches, pictures on the walls and a woman sitting at a desk with a calming smile on her face. In the back they could see a door that read �Clive Davis.� The woman spoke �take a seat, Mr. Davis is talking to another clients at the moment. �Isn�t Clive Davis the CEO of j records? Why would someone so high up audition us?� Kat muttered, being ignored as usual. �Hey look a door!� Becky said. �Very good Becky, now what�s that? Kat said pointing to a window �Haha, very funny, no it looks like it goes to a separate room.� Becky replied a little offended The receptionist stopped their conversation by saying, �You can go in now, and that room connects to the main office and a room with a 2 way mirror.� The girls entered the room expecting to see some big star walking out, but no one. �Maybe Alicia Keys or LFO are watching us from the other room.� Becky whispered �Ya Beck and maybe your parents are just gonna magically come back.� Kat sniped, Becky flashed her a fake smile. Clive cleared his throat when he noticed their little argument. "Hello girls." �Hi� they all said together �Sign here.� Clive pointed to a line on a contract. �What?� Jenna said in confusion �You wanted a record label, you have one.� Clive said �We don�t have to perform to get a record label?� Becky asked completely bewildered �No.� �Ok, not to be mean or anything, but why are we here?� Jenna asked. �I wanted to see if you would be a good opening band or not. I want you to open for a band for the first 3 shows, but we do want someone good so I need to audition you. Being on the road is your major audition, if people like you, you�re in, if not, you should just quit now.� They signed eagerly, then began their song. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �They are cute!� Erick said as soon as he saw the girls enter the room. �Look at that one in the middle. She is really hot.� Jacob said pointing to Becky. �Keep your voice down they can hear you!� Dan said, � but that one is really cute.� He said motioning towards Jenna. �They�re all pretty fine." Trevor said confidently. �Trev, you have a girl friend.� Ashley said. �Ok I want that one.� Erik said loudly, staring at Kat. �Erik, just because we can see then and they can�t see us, doesn�t mean they can�t hear us, be quiet!� Ashley said and smacked his head. �Dude just because you�re the only one that didn�t get a girl doesn�t mean you have to yell at us.� Jacob said �Ya, no need to be jealous Ash.� Erik added. �You guys haven�t even talked to them yet, you don�t even know if they�re airheads or, or�. or if they can even sing, that�s what�s important, if they�re gonna open for us, they have to be able to sing.� Ashley said defensively. �Guys stop talking, they�re starting to sing, this is an audition� Dan said. They all watched quietly, but Ashley was different then the rest. He couldn�t take his eyes off of the group, they were amazing, she was amazing. �Earth to Ashley.� Jacob said in a singsong voice, waiving his hand in front of Ashley�s eyes. �Dude they�re done and you can wipe off that drool now.� �Huh? Ya, ok. Whatever.� Ashley said still in a daze. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �Ok girls that was great, please wait outside I need to discuss some things over with some people� Clive said in a hurry The three girls went back into the little office. �Could he be any more vague?� Kat said, and yet again went unnoticed �Oh my G-d, oh my G-d, oh my G-d, oh my-� Becky said before getting cut off by Kat �Lemme guess, oh my G-d?� �Kat leave her alone!� Jenna snapped �Ok whatever. Sorry sis.� Kat said unremorsefully �Kat come on you have to admit that was pretty damn cool.� Jenna said trying to get Kat to smile. �Ok, I guess that was pretty cool.� Kat said grinning for the first time in a long while. �Who got a record deal?� �We did!!!!!!� Jenna and Becky said in unison �Who kicked some major ass in there?� Kat said with a full smile on her face �We did!!!!!!� Jenna said alone �hey Becky, c�mon this only works if we both do it.� �Becky?� Kat said in an upbeat tone. �helloooooo? Rebecca, where are you?� Jenna said in a singsong voice. �Um� I �. uhhh�� �Bex are you still with us?� Kat said a little wierded out by her friend�s behavior �Ya, Beck you�re acting stranger then usual.� Jenna added. �That was� I just saw...� Becky sputtered. �Spit it out sis!� Kat commanded �That was-� Becky�s explanation was cut short. �You girls can go in now.� �Forbidden Love, meet the band you�re opening for�. O-town.� Clive said, introducing the two groups as Becky�s jaw dropped and her eyes almost came out of their sockets. �Hey Becky this is cool, you love O-town.� Kat said with a smirk �Shut up sis.� Becky replied without moving her lips. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thoughts raced through Ashley�s mind when he saw the girls standing there. ~Wow there she is. Just standing there, she�s so pretty. But you know, I bet she�s a total snob or a bitch or� or something. I should ask her out or something. Ok wait slow down, first things first, I should go over and talk to her. What should I say? �Do you wanna go out with me some time?� no! Stupid, stupid, stupid. No, first ask her name, ya that�s a good start. Ok I�m gonna go do it. ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �Ok sorry to sound so cheesy, but oh my G-d Becky look at his butt.� Jenna said in excitement staring at Dan, when they entered the office with the five hotties of o-town standing right there. �Shut up, he can hear you.� Becky said through clenched teeth. Becky fazed out of her conversation with Jenna she was lost in her own thoughts and didn�t even realize that she had left to go talk to Dan and Kat went to talk to Erik. Becky�s mind was racing with ideas. ~Oh my G-d he is gorgeous, just look at him! I wonder what he would look like in his boxers. Stupid question, he�s Ashley Angel, he�d be really, really hot. I wonder what I would do if I went out with him, probably have lots of fun. Probably a little too much fun. Hey you can�t have too much fun, he�s Ashley! G-d he�s hott! Ok, he�s coming over, say something. Say anything, tell him your name. Ya good idea. Name, ok I could handle that. ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �Wow Ashley Angel, hi uh I�m a big fan, oh ya I�m Becky Turner.� Becky said dumb- struck. �You guyz are really good, oh ya uh hi I�m uh, uh�� �Ashley, your name is Ashley!� Dan whispered as he walked by with Jenna. �Oh ya, hi I�m Ashley, what�s your name?� ~ Stupid, stupid, stupid! She said her name already. She�s a fan of course she knows your name! Ok it�s over Jacob is gonna get her. I messed up, I lost.~ �You really think we�re good?� �Ya I really do.� �Thanx, that means a lot to me coming from you.� �You�re welcome.� �Yo, ash, we�re going, like now so stop drooling over the pretty girl and lets go.� Jacob said with no tact what so ever. Both Ashley and Becky blushed. |
