Since my starting (re-starting) on my road to 'recovery', healing etc..I have got my hands on some wonderful and very helpful books..
the Courage to Heal ~ Ellen Bass & Laura Davis

I can't recommend this book enough! It is truly incredible..very down to earth which I love...there are exercises to do that I have so far, found very helpful...They (the ones I have done so far), are NOT easy to do by any means but they are helpful..I think this is a must have book for anyone starting or already on the road to recovery and healing from Child Sexual Abuse...

The Right to Innocence -Healing the Trauma of Childhood Sexual Abuse ~ Beverly Engel

Ms. Engel is a survivor herself so she knows where we are coming from..I have found this book to be helpful also..This book has excercises and more that will help you through a 'seven step program for recovery'..Like Courage to Heal I am in the process of using this book also.

Toxic Parents ~ Dr.Susan Forward

This book isn't just for sexual abuse survivors. Its for suvivors of all forms of child abuse..parts of this book made me cry when I read them. Excellent! And difficult to read at times..not only because it makes you aware of things that happened to you as a child that were damaging but also of YOUR parenting skills...Real eye opener for some..Definate yes to this book

Reach for the Rainbow ~ Lynne D.Finney

Ms. Finney is also a survivor...and therapist. Though this book isn't written in the same 'laid back' fashion as the previous three I still would recommend it. Its written in a question - answer form which can be a little frustrating but still...give it a glance and decide for yourself

What about me? ~ Grant Cameron
A Guide for Men Helping Female Partners Deal with Childhood Sexual Abuse
(review given by my hubby)

I found this book raised my awareness of what Raven is going through. As a partner of a survivor I feel the book will be a great  resource of information on what the future may hold for yourself and your partner. After reading this book I found myself understanding Raven's, shall we say "unusual" behavior. Thing that didnt make any sense to me at all, now have become very clear. Cameron's writing is down to earth and understandable. He wrote this book  not to help the survivor directly, but to help you, the partner, help the survivor.
More book suggestions to come..

if you have any you'd like to suggest please email me the title, author and your review and I will post it as soon as possible.
