HALL OF FAME

BLUE AND WHITE THROUGH AND THROUGH

KIERAN

Kieran joined Moorgreen Colts way back in 1996 under the wing of Dave Henson who was managing the new under 8s, they were playing a season of friendlys before playing league football in the old north div, back then Dave saw he had potential and played Kieran in the B team giving away two years in age against most of his team mates and the opposition, Dave spotted that he was left footed and that is where he inherited the left back position he now plays today in the famous no 3 shirt, Kieran trained with the A team and learned all the basics of football, seems like a million years ago now. Dave Hensons team went on to finish forth in the North Div and win the Div 1 title the following season, and Kieran dropped down a year to play for new managers Andy Hallam and Shane Boddice in the North div at under 9s. Although Kieran was barely eight at the start of the 98/99 season, he made the left back position his own and played in all the game's that season winning many plaudits for his grit and determination and his will to win.The team finished in the bottom half of the table but Kieran gained vast experiance in playing a year above himself and thanks his old team mates for that, who are now playing 1st Div football in the Derby City League with Andy Hallam. Kieran then dropped down a year along with Manager Shane Boddice who formed the U9s and was joined by the current manager Alan Grainger who went on to finish Champions of the Yellow Div only dropping five points throughout the 1999/2000 season, they also they finished Cup Semi-Finalist losing out to Cotgrave Colts.Last season was the big one finishing joint Div 1 Champions and Y.E.F.L Cup winners, Kieran played a big part in the winning of the Div 1 as they needed to win the last two game's to force a play off with local rivals Priory Eagles, the next to last game against Wilford Mavs Kieran scored the goal in the 1-0 win, and in the last game against Hall Park Colts Moorgreen found themselves 1-0 down and Kieran scored two goals in a 3-1 win that got them the points they needed, and i think Mr C Hickling was there and witnessed the two wonderful left footed strikes, it just goes to show defenders can win the important game's.Kieran is a competitor but also a true sportsman and is now well known throughout the Y.E.F.L for his natural ability as a defender, and has had numerous offers from local Professional Clubs, but prefers to play in the Y.E.F.L for Moorgreen Colts, well for now, anyway who knows in the future, watch this space.........
