Main Character (protagonist)- The events of a story are based on the most important character, the mai characters Minor Character- These are the less prominent characters Dynamic Character- are the characters that undergo change as the plot unfolds Static Character- remain the same Setting- The events of a story occur in a particular time and place Plot- is a related chain of events that takes place in a story Exposition- lays the groundwork for the plot and provides the reader with essential background information Inciting Incident- the event that gets a story started; the action that gets a story going Rising Action- is when complications arise making the story more suspenseful Climax- is the turning point of the action, the moment when interest and intensity reach their peak Falling Action- consists of the events that occur after the climax Denouement (Resolution)- the tangles of the plot are untied and mysteries are solved Theme- is an important idea or message conveyed by a work of fiction |
