| Main Ideas 1) The Iliad and the Odyssey are major pieces of literature that describe the pre-history of the Greeks. 2) The mountains were like a backbone down the length the Italian Peninsula was like a natural border. 3) The males lived a discipline life in the military and then the women were not allowed to be in the military, but to be educated. 4) Athens was a democracy because they had a set of rules and had the people had the right to vote. 5) Persia won the war but not the battle. Greece won the battle. 6) Sparta was inland, so it can�t be attacked from the sea. Athens had the most powerful navy. 7) It is a way of teaching that uses the use of questions. 8) Alexander the Great conquered Europe and some of Egypt. He was one of the best leaders to every live. 9) The Greeks, Babylonian�s, and Egypt that came together to form the Hellenistic civilization. |
