The program was dropped following an undefeated season in 1951. The Dons resumed football in the College Division, 1959-71.
USF used to play in Kezar Stadium, less than a mile from campus, at the edge of Golden Gate Park. The stadium has since been demolished and rebuilt. [photo]
The athletic director said there is no interest on the part of the current USF administration [2003] to start another football program.
