The Braves had three undefeated seasons in the 1920's but struggled through their later years with few scholarships and no spring football. Bradley and Drake both temporarily withdrew from the Missouri Valley Conference in 1951 to protest the conference's handling of the Johnny Bright incident. Unlike Drake, Bradley never returned to a conference football schedule.
Although the merits of football have been debated, the administration appears to have no interest. With Braves baseball moving to a new facility in 2003, Bradley is reconfiguring its old baseball park for a new sport: soccer.
