My name is Kim. I came from Viet Nam 4 - 8-1990. I arrived in Australia with my family. Saigon was a beautiful city and I was very happy there but when the war began my mother and I decided to leave. I was very sad to leave my family and friends as I did not know much about Australia. I felt nervous because I could only speak a little English. I was learning English at classes at Footscray AMES.

I came to Australia because the climate was mild. There are four seasons but the weather is very changeable.

I like to live in Melbourne. It is a large city. It is in the South East of Australia. It is the capital city of the state of Victoria. Many people live here.

I live in Maidstone, there are four bedrooms. It is in a nice house, in a quiet neighbourhood and near my house in front there is a bus stop. It is convenient to go by bus to Highpoint, Footscray and city. The apartment has a sunny living room with a dinning room next to it, the kitchen is large with a new store and refrigerator. There is a bathtub with a shower in the bathroom. In the basement of the building there is a laundry room with washers and dryers. It is also a garage for my car.

Further I want to find a part time job. Next year I want to study at a TAFE COLLEGE. I think my teacher helped me to improve my English and study skill.

I go to the I LC (library) every day. I do my homework and use videos, audio-cassettes to improve my English, spelling, writing, listening. I try to improve my management skills, organising skills, creative skills, technical skills. I study four days a week, for fifteen hours, Friday no school. In the afternoon class, my teacher was Nicky and Mary.

I learned computer skill at AMES, typing, finding pictures, inserting pictures into text, search on the Internet, writing reports and recounts, following instructions, communication skill, technical skill, listening, pronunciation, spelling.
