| CONVERSATION WITH Scott Santagate |
| Goalpost10: Im here today with Scott Santagate, how are you doing today Scott? santagate24: good, just woke up but good Goalpost10: That's good. Here we go with some questions for you Scott Goalpost10: I have recieved an email from an annonymous source, he/she wonders, "Scott, please tell me what its like to be the first negro the break the color barrier in the FSL." santagate24: i will set the record straight, "YES I AM", it is kinda hard every sunday to put all that white makeup on but i know if i do not i will be banned from the league. Goalpost10: Indeed you would Goalpost10: I have another question here from Jacob from Melrose, MA... Jacob wants to know... "Scott, what influenced you to join Team Lynn a few years ago? And how did you feel about Salem 2 blaitantly mocking you by wearing the number 24 and the words 'SCOTT WHO' on every player's back?" santagate24: well Jacob, leaving salem 2 was hard but i felt that i needed a change it was great playing for them, but at the time i felt they were on the downslide, but i was proved wrong, but i felt that me leaving the team helped them get all those players, kinda like griffey and A-rod leaving and seattle getting a whole lot better santagate24: and as for the 24 wearing santagate24: that kinda made me mad at first, but it just made me play harder every time i played them and as history shows, in the final game of or 3 game sereies which we won 2 to on i got the tieing rbi and the winning run, so you tell me who helped who to play betta Goalpost10: No doubt that must have sparked you Scott. Goalpost10: There is no denying that you are one of the greatest players in FSL History, if not THE best. Scott, how do you feel about your future in the FSL? Have you felt the effects of old age yet? Goalpost10: Scott, you type so fucking slow santagate24: well thank you on the compliment, and i feel that the FSL is going into the direction i would like it to see, more competitive santagate24: and no i have not felt the effects Goalpost10: Do you miss the days when you could hit it to the right fielder on any team and KNOW that they were going to miss the ball? Or you could just hit it to "the girl" on their team an know you were getting on base? What happened to those days of hitting it to right field to get a hit, or do they still exist??? santagate24: well on some teams they do, but i think not haveing girls play is a good thing, no easy outs, no complaining about it being too hot or the games are too long, and i t makes everyone a better player having to actually hit the ball and not looking for the easy single. Goalpost10: Good point Goalpost10: Where do you see Team Lynn at the end of the 2003 season? santagate24: if we do not turn it around a disappointing last place Goalpost10: What do you think needs to happen for your team to "turn it around?" santagate24: better infield is a major concern on or team and maybe one more outfielder. Goalpost10: Scott, we are all wanting to know.... are you THE TRUTH??? Or do you have any affiliation with THE TRUTH??? santagate24: no i do not, and no Goalpost10: Lots of speculation points to you being the truth Goalpost10: Whoever this person is, seems to know a lot about things going on in the FSL Goalpost10: Do you have any idea who The Truth may be? santagate24: do you see how i type do you think i could be the TRUTH santagate24: not really Goalpost10: That's very true. Goalpost10: Does his good spelling point The Truth out toward being Joe Naughton maybe? santagate24: i do not think so, but never can put anything past Mr. Naughton Goalpost10: Scott, is there anything you would like to address to the league? Everybody is reading this interview. What would you like to say? santagate24: let me think....... Goalpost10: sure, take you time Goalpost10: Its the freestyle session of this interview, IF YA WIEEEEEEEEL... Dustaaaa Style! santagate24: well i think we should have a better umpire next year, richie is doing a decent job but he is way to inconsistent, maybe a better field revere is just a pain in the ass to drive too in the morning, but i know it is hard to get a permit and i do not blame brian for getting the permit for the field becasue it is better than searching for parks like we have done in the past, and i know it is only a dream i would love to combine teams with salem 2 but too mant egos to bump heads so i know that will never happen. Goalpost10: Alright Scott, I thank you for your time. Any last words? santagate24: well thank you steve and good luck to all the teams in the league for the rest of the year, and i hope you all die so lynn can be in the league all bye themselves, because the way we are playing right now that might be the only way we can win. Goalpost10: Alright folks, there you have it. Scott from Lynn has spoken. Like a true champion! We wish you luck as well in all of your future FSL endeavors. Something just tells me that next year will be a much better year for you guys. I just got a hunch. santagate24: yea me too |
