"My Thoughts on 2003 FSL"

I would first like to say that I am NOT at all excited about going back to Beachmont Field. Its like having cancer, beating it, and then wanting it back! The year we played at Beachmont was Salem 2 worst year since I had been on the team. It was also my worst personal season as well as many of my other teammates. Infield is meant to be played on dirt, not grass. However, we will make due and whip ass. The evil mystique of Beachmont will not break me or Salem II.  We will dominate all year and will take home the championship!!! I am hoping Little Mike wont show up. I called up Vinny the Phone Guy and he phoned a hitman to take out Little Mike. Thanks Vinny!

Now, on to my evaluations of other teams in no particular order:

Revere:

Well what can you say? They won the championship 2 years in a row. Very impressive. But that was 2 years ago. Times have changed. I respect Revere and enjoy playing them because they are not bitches and are good sportsmen. However, the average age on Revere is about 37. If you look at the fans behind Revere's bench you see wives, children, and more children. Revere is a bunch of married men with kids that have other problems to worry about. They are now run by Bowser Koopa and are on a downfall. They remind me of the Washington Redskins a couple years ago when they had all the old all pro's from the past who just dont cut it anymore. I like and respect Revere but I just dont think they have it anymore...especially without their heart & soul Brian "Commish" Langston. However, Revere has been playing together for many years and with two new teams in the league Revere may do fair in the regular season but wont stack up in the playoffs....

PREDICTION: 3rd Place

Big Sticks:

I dont know much about this team to be honest with you. I know Langston is the captain. Other teammates include the old guy that everyone hates but is a fine hitter and the two kids from the team formerly know as Melrose. All I can say is they are a new team that has never played together and I dont know much about them but will probably sneak into the playoffs with a bad record. I dont see a good year for the Big Sticks. Plus, their captain eats the ass.

PREDICTION: 4th Place

Lynn:

I have to give credit where credit is due. Lynn has taken it to Salem II two years in a row. We would have beaten them two years ago in the last game of the season which also decided which team was going to the playoffs but unfortunately we had Mark Maniscalco in right field and he forgot to bring the webbing to his glove that week. Nonetheless, Lynn has beaten Salem when it counts. Lynn is a very good team with lots of veteran talent. They are also blessed with lots of former Salem II talent like "Pauly Bear", "Scotty Poo-Poo", and "Jeff 'I have no nickname from Mary' Cater". I predict a very good year for Lynn.

PREDICTION: 2nd Place

Garbage Inc.

Oops I mean Damage Inc. These women are a totally new team. Players that have never even seen an FSL game. I believe its actual Foodmaster Talent which doesnt bode well for them. They should of had a scrimmage against good ol' Team Arlington to even qualify for this league. A scrimmage they probably would have lost. This will be a horrible year for Garbage Inc. They will be lucky to win 3 games!

PREDICTION: 5th Place

Salem II

Salem II is looking great. With the great loss of Joe Naughton (who also eats the ass and likes thumbs stuck up it. Its true he told us) the team is very upbeat. Tom is gone and as I said earlier there is a hit out on Little Mike. The infield is solid as ever. It will be anchored by Steve Sica at shortstop along with the best lefthanded hitter since Ted Williams, Ed Banks at third. Some new kid Anthony who I have been told can actually catch the ball will be an upgrade at second base and Billy Sica at first who also can actually catch the ball and is a nice tall target to throw to. Adam the Gold Glove pitcher of the league will pitch along with Ed McCarthy catching. The outfield consists of myself at leftfield/shortfield. I know where you all hit the ball!!! You cant get it by me. Anthony Sorentino will play leftcenter. The sophomore is coming off a very good freshman season. The rest of the outfield will consist of Brad and Mike. No, not Little Mike or even Mike Porter (who is a big loss because he broke his leg or something) but just a new Mike. Mike was very impressive with his fielding and hitting at a practice we had.  Brad will be our equivalent to the guy that everybody hates who was on Revere II who is now on Big Sticks. Salem II is hungrier than ever and will not settle for anything other than the FSL Championship.

PREDICTION: 1st Place

Goodbye For Now.

Back to Main Page... BEYOTCH!
*EVERYONE PLEASE READ* 5/27/03

Now the first thing out of everyone's (people who werent at the game) mouth after reading Steves update article is that he is making excuses for Salem II. Well he isnt. Everything he said was true. In the last inning Revere intentionally did not swing at 1 pitch and eventually won the game on walks and a little dribbler in front of the plate. After the game we were disgusted and rightfully so. A few guys from Revere including Bowser & Joe Quinn came up to us and said it was a cheap bullshit win. Remember that was coming from the team that won! This Balls & Strike thing is TERRIBLE. Its like BRAND EXTENSION in the WWE! It just doesnt work. Adam Trukas referred to it as a carnival game. Which is very true since the pitcher is trying to throw the ball so it hits the stupid fucking rubber thing behind the plate. I tested it out last week myself. Brian Langston threw me 4 straight great pitches that went right past me and were not called strikes because it didnt hit the rubber thing! I walked to first in disgust because I knew this could be the demise of this great league. The only reason we did this balls & strike thing was because of that pitcher Shaun from Revere II last year. He would never throw the ball over so we decide the change EVERYTHING because of one person who does not even play anymore in the league. The league went 10 years without balls & strikes and was fine. We need to end this awful idea! Hell, Bowser called for a protest before he even threw one pitch today because he knew hitting a orange rubber thing is fucking stupid! The ump doesnt even stand behind the plate to see if the ball goes over! He stands to the right of it. We need to end this crap. And for those of you who still think its excuses, wait till the first game you play and watch the other team not swing at 1 fucking pitch and watch the other team collect walk after walk. We need to abolish or modify this immediately!

Thank You
Matt
