COACHES LOG:
It's hard to believe that 11 weeks can fly by so quickly.  As a season based on score the 'CATS ended up on the short end of the stick. But anyone close to the action saw a team, and certain players evolve, grow, fight, claw, cheer, and cry at every event.  Each game WAS...an event... It was a shame that some of the outcomes weren't different. In all of my JFL coaching years, I have yet to see so many kids give so much of themselves. And that...was GREAT. They wanted everything, and every moment was so important to so many. Sure, there were times when some could not or did not step up to the challenge, but that's just human nature. I felt for the kids that gave so much, but to come up short. But after a few minutes they learned to stand up, put it behind them, smile, and move on. And that is all part of the game. Learning to lose is as important as learning to win and I am proud of all 22 'young men' who came in and gave their best for the Wildcats, and the Fondy JFL. I wish all 6th graders the best in their upcoming years, and I hope to see all the 5th graders 'back in blue' come fall of 2001.  -- Coach Giese
