| The Jingle Dress Dance |
| In 1919 an Ojibwa Holy Man had a vision of a dance where the Women's dresses were decorated with rolled up snuff can lids. From this vision was born the Jingle Dress Dance. Most dresses have 356 jingles. One is attached each day with a special prayer; so it takes a year to make the dress. During the dance, the sound of the jingles renews the prayers. |
