MAIN STREET FOLK & BLUES FESTIVAL
WHAT IS IT?
The Newmarket Main Street Folk and Blues Festival is a non-profit
project of merchants in Newmarket's old downtown Main Street and
a small committee of folk and blues musicians. The mission of the festival is to support local musicians, promote folk and blues music and revitalize downtown Newmarket. Held in multiple Main Street venues throughout the weekend (a weekend in February), the Festival showcases a variety of musical styles performed by a mix of local and out of town musicians. The program is designed to appeal to a variety of musical tastes and age groups and includes Folk, Blues, Celtic, Children�s Entertainment, Gospel, traditional and original Music.

THEME EVENTS
Theme events are presentations by one or more performers lasting usually about 45 minutes to allow plenty of time for you to get to the next event before it starts. Theme events showcase local artists performing songs according to a specific topic or musical style. Audiences are encouraged to support the performers by donating to "the Hat".
