Mick Foley has decided to continue his very successful writing career with a new book, 'Tietam Brown'. This new book may stop the wrestling legend from continuing his career with the NWA:TNA, as reported previously on Mick Foley 2003. It seems that since Mick's WWE contract expired, Vince McMahon has offered him several lucrative deals on a contract - all of which have been turned down by Mick. These rejections suggest to me that he is past wrestling and will be concentrating on his writing career.
As for the new book 'Tietam Brown', Mick has said in interviews that the story follows two feature characters, Tietam and Andy and he described the storyline as, "A coming of age story laden with violence." Mick has already written four previous books, all of which have been major successes - and it is still to be seen whether he can transgress the wrestling world into mainstream litery.
My personal thoughts on the situation is that - if it is true that Mick will be writing and no longer be involved with wrestling - it's a very sad day for myself and wrestling fans like me but it will be good if Mick can have a very successful writing career on top of the amazing career as a wrestler he has already enjoyed. |
