My name is Annie Ashcraft and I live in the South Island of New Zealand. I have bred pedigree cats since 1995, first breeding Siamese and Orientals until the death of my beautiful lynx point Siamese "Dbl Gr Ch Bajimbi Kel-Lin" I could not continue on and face breeding these cats without her and so diversed into Russian Blues. In 1998 I made the move to America and the quesiton of what to do with my beautiful Russian Blues was quickly solved when Sheila and Alan Bonham of the then Brackenburn Cattery was happy to take over these gorgeous cats and continue with the hard work I had put in to them. However the lure of my beautiful homeland soon had me return and now it's forward and onward with Scottish Folds and British Shorthairs. Sheila and Alan now breed under the Kirov prefix. It is not unusual to change breeds, and often depends on supply and demand and also assists in the pre-training for judges school.
Since first breeding pedigree cats in New Zealand, I have been actively involved with the cat fanciers , having formed a new cat club in 1997 and holding the position of Secretary and later Vice President and often Show Secretary until I resigned recently, to give me more spare time to spend with my beloved cats and concentrate on my breeding program and to enjoy the 2001 show season as a relaxed exhibitor and not an overwrought show secretary. |
