| The basics for trying to conceive |
| All you need is to have sex and bam! you're pregnant. That's obviously not true if you're on this site. You're right. It takes a little more than that. Here, we'll cover the basics of what it takes in the simplest and most practical of terms. Get your body ready Firstly, your body has to be up to it. Some may say 'starving, drunk, drug pushers are having babies' - that has nothing to do with you. Stop measuring yourself by others. Make yourself the standard. Put your body in the right shape. Are you overweight or underweight? Find out your BMI (Body Mass Index) here and get within the right range. Apart from just having the right weight, you need to eat healthy with the right amount of fat, sugars, vegetables, protein, caborhydrates and vitamins. Taking a good prenatal vitamin ensures you have the right amount of essential vitamins for conception and development of your baby. Your hormones What makes you a woman is the hormones produced in your body. Too much or too little of the right hormones causes problems in menstruation and conception. Your hormones need to be regulated to ensure you body produces the right quantities that put you in right position to conceive. Your hormones even have a great impact on your cervical mucus which is needed in keeping sperm alive, nourished and transported to your waiting egg. Fertility blend for women is a good supplement which provides the necessary vitamins needed by your body and helps to regulate your hormones. It's been clinically proven to help many women in correcting hormonal imbalances and acheiving pregnancy. Fertility blend for men has also been clinically proven to improve the quality and quantity of sperm. Don't leave it all up to you. Conception is acheived by a man and woman coming together - they both have to be in good shape. To purchase fertilityblend for women and men, click here. Ovulation (the big O) O here means ovulation and not orgasms! Ovulation is everything. Without ovulation, there can be NO pregnancy. There's no escaping it. Ovulation is the process by which the egg is released for fertilization. Many problems with conception arise because the woman isn't ovulation, or the intercouse misses the ovulation period. A supplement like fertilityblend for women helps to promote regular ovulation. Having a regular ovulation isn't all that matters though. You need to know WHEN you are ovulating. Timing is key. Monitoring your entire cycle helps to determine your body's individual habits. All women are different and pinpointing your own dates is important. Basal Body Temperature & Ovulation A woman's body temperature changes throughout her cycle. Never heard that? Read on! In the begining of her cycle starting from CD1 (Cycle day 1) which is the first day of your period, you temperature is lower than the end part of the cycle (DPO - Days post ovulation). In the begining of the cycle, the temperature may range from 36.1C to 36.5C and after ovulation, it ranges from 36.6C to 37C. The thing is that all women are different and so you need to know what your own temperatures are like. But what is uniform is that if the temperature suddenly rises at .2C and above for over 3 days (except you have a fever), you have ovulated. The temperature must be taken with a (basal body thermometer) the same time every morning before you do anything at all i.e. before you go to the bathroom, eat or get up at all. It's advisabe to set an alarm to wake you at a time having had at least 3 hours sleep. The thermometer should be placed under the tongue for at least 5mins to get the right temperature. This temperature should be recorded everyday to determine your own pattern. This will help to know if you've ovulated and when to stop SOD (Sex on demand). To purchase your basal body thermometer, click here. Ovulation predictor strips BBTs cannot predict ovulation, but they help to know if you have already ovulated. To know when you'll ovulate, you need ovulation predictor strips. The strips tell you when you have your LH surge (lutenizing hormone surge that comes just before you ovulate) which means that you will ovulate within the next 72hrs. when you get the surge, it's time to start BD (Baby Dance) & SOD. To have got your surge when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. If it is lighter than the control line, test again the next day until you get your surge. To purchase ovulator predictor strips, click here. Sex on Demand (SOD), Baby Dance (BD) Without intercourse, there is NO natural pregnancy. That's just the way it is. So, ditch the arguments with your guy and start BD. SOD can be really stressful and causes it's own problems. For a woman, she may find it hard maintaining her fertile cervical mucus (CM) and produce hostile CM instead. That's where lubricants come in. Many lubricants are here to help, but do more damage by trapping sperm. Preseed lubricant has been formulated to overcome this problem. Click here for information and purchase. Apart from vaginal dryness, many women have CMs with the wrong PH for sperm. Fertility blend and Preseed help to overcome this problem. It helps to reduce the frequency of sex before your ovulatory period. During the ovulatory period, having sex every day (or every other day) is advised. After sex, don't be so quick to jump off the bed. Lay on the bed (with hips propped off if you can) to prevent the sperm from pouring out. It's advisable to have BD just before bed so that you can lie there for a good while. Your rise in temperature should tell you when you've ovulated. Don't stop BD before your temperature has risen for at least 2 days. The Two week wait (2WW) It takes an average of 14days after you ovulate to get your period - or get your positive pregnancy test. This period can be really stressfull as well. Just eat well and relax. It takes about 8-10 days for the fertilised egg to implant and our pregnancy tests are that sensitive. You can use it starting from 10DPO (10 days after ovulation or after temperature rise). We don't stock on the expensive and superfluous brands of HPT (Home pregnancy tests) because when trying to conceive, you'll need to take a pregnancy tests as often as you like and all you need is to see the 2 lines!!!. I'll advice their use for when you want to confirm or celebrate the news! To purchase your HPTs, click here. |
