Every eligible candidate in HKAL who studies science as major subjects can apply for both art stream and science stream. Although science students are not as good as art students when considering writing, it is doubtless that science students are good at logical thinking in order to overcome this deficiency.
I am especially in favor of
technical aspects of knowledge such as communication skills (in language) and
experiment techniques (in Chemistry). There is a saying that ‘practice makes
perfect’; therefore these techniques can be improved by continuous practice. As
the whole economy of Hong Kong is transforming to be a service-based one, I
assure that these techniques are very useful for developing my career in the
future as well as contributing back to the society. Hence, entering into the
university is the best way for me to have practice opportunities so that I can
develop my career successfully in the future.
I am quite interested in
extra curricular activities. I had been a leader of the Prefect Association and
of the educational trip to Shanghai in my school last year. I was also
responsible for the technical support (especially on stage management) of major
school functions last academic year. From these opportunities, I have
strengthened my confidence to overcome the contingency matters.
To conclude, language and
science are especially useful for me to cultivate myself to the fullest of my
ability. I hope my application is considered. Thank you.
