Here's the cam, gaskets & bolt kit supplied by Texas Speed & Perfomance the cam specs are 231/237 .598/.595 lsa 112+2 it usually peaks at around 6300 rpms so youll need to get tuning to take full advantage of where it makes power
This was day one of my install we worked on the car for about 2-3 hours and got the intake, exhaust, water pump, radiator and stuff out of the car...basically teardown, not bad at all IMO I thought the headers would give me problems but I lucked out. The power steering was not fun to get out of the way either but all in all it wasnt too bad or at least not as bad as I've heard from some.
Unlike some my headers came apart quite easily so I lucked out and was able to get them dropped out of the way for the duration of the install...we just left them dangle and didnt completely remove them.
Day 2 We didnt get much done other than getting 1/2 of the bolts off of the heads & we only worked for a little over an hour...man what a pita, they are in there good...there were 3 of us taking turns getting the bolts off and they had to be taken out all the way by hand basically as air tools just werent cuttin it...well at least mine werent hehe. Day 3 was much more eventfull as we took off the old heads & put the new ones in as well as swapping the cam over. Kevin from njfbody came over to give a hand with some of this and really was a useful help to us.
Day 4 was basically just putting everything back together again nothing more & day 5 was the same really as we finally got the intake back on and everything buttoned up and fired up. And man is it nasty Im gonna add a soundclip onto the ls1sounds website as soon as i get a chance but man this is really what an ls1 should sound like.
Hers a quick pic of the tool i made to hold my automatic tranny in place took about 3 bucks and 5 minutes of my time...definitly worth every cent...you open the circular hole in the center under the tranny and put that in there to wedge within the tq converter and it leans against the tranny wall and stops everything from moving, as you can see i notched it so the job can be done by one person now.
