CHAPTER 2: HEAD WITCH

DOOT! DOOT! DOOT!

Eva quickly sat up and turned off her alarm clock. She hadn't slept all night. She was wondering what was going on. Wondering where her Harry Potter books went and how come no one had the slightest memory of them. It was like they never existed. Still pinching herself checking once in awhile to see if this was a dream, she couldn't help but be excited for what's to come.

Quickly she put on her glasses, slipped on a pair of jeans and her burgundy, quarter sleeved hoodie, brushed her hair a couple of times, then ran downstairs.

Her whole family was waiting for her. All her stuff was packed into a beautiful new trunk that her dad had bought last night.

Her mom had a tear in her eye. "Oh Eva! I'm so proud of you! When Professor McGonagall told us all about Hogwarts and you being a witch, we were so surprised! My lil baby going off to another country....you be good now! Dont forget to contact us once in awhile! I've packed up some goodies for you on your way there too just in case you get hungry!" With that she handed to her a huge bag full of cookies, candy and many other assortments. As Eva stumbled under it's weight, she wondered if her mom was trying to get her fat. "Thanks Mom!" They gave each other a big hug and Eva couldnt help but shed a tear. She had never left this far from her family before.

Her dad patted her head. "We're all going to miss you terribly! Don't forget to come home for the holidays!"

Mariam and Natalie smiled. "Finally, more room in the house!"

Eva grinned. "I'll miss you too!"

Giving one more big hug to each family member, she walked out the door. Outside a man came up to her and started to carry her trunk to the car. Another man dressed in a uniform was holding the door of a black car for her as Professor McGonagall waited inside. She turned back and waved one last time to her family as she walked up to the car. She couldnt help but smile. Her life was finally going to change.

"Nervous?"

Eva was sitting in the car with Professor McGonagall, stiff as a board with her head down, fiddling with a candy wrapper.

"A little...." Eva managed to croak out. She was a bundle of nerves all excited and confused at the same time.

Professor McGonagall put her hand over Eva's to comfort her. Either that or she was getting annoyed of the crackling sound the wrapper was making. "Don't worry too much! Everything will be just fine!"

Eva gave her a faint smile. She was right. Everything will be just fine. This is what she wanted her whole life! She couldn't wait to set foot on Hogwart's floor.....couldn't wait to meet Harry....

Suddenly the car stopped.

"Ah....here we are!" The man in the uniform opened the door as Eva and Professor McGonagall stepped out.

Eva looked around. "Where are we?"

All around was dead grass, a field that was supposedly on sale for a farmer who can't tell the difference between farmland or a wasteland. Only a small barbed wire fence surrounded it. Professor McGonagall started to walk towards the fence.

"You don't think we're using the car to FLY there do you?! Forgotten Mr.Weasley and Mr. Potter's little incident already?" Professor McGonagall turned around and winked as Eva gave a small laugh and headed towards her. How could she possibly forget that?

Professor McGonagall pointed to an old sock that was stuck in the barb fence. She looked down at Eva and smiled.

"A portkey!" Eva was excited. She couldn't wait to try it.

"And just in time! Now be careful! This might be a little wild for a first timer..."

With that, Professor McGonagall and Eva both reached out and touched the portkey, not minding the smell of it, as they were whisked away, a sensational tingling surrounding Eva.

"W....W...Whoa!"

Evas feet had hit the ground and she started to stumble around trying not to fall. But then she suddenly tripped and landed in someone's arms.

Eyes still shut, she shook her head, feeling a little dizzy. Professor McGonagall was right.....it WAS wild for a first timer. She stood back up and before she realized where she was, the person she fell into started to talk.

"Ah Miss. Chu! It is such a great honour to finally meet you!"

She opened her eyes at the voice and there in front of her was an old man. His eyes twinkled through his half-moon spectacles as he smiled at her.

Eve's eyes widen. "P...P...Professor Dumbledore! Why it'sKit's such a great honour to meet YOU!" She started to blush. Whats so special about her that could possibly make THE Professor Dumbledore interested in her? Her smile faded and she started to talk really fast, mumbling out everything, not even realizing what was said. Eva had so much on her mind. "I have so many questions to ask you! What is going on here? H....How come....Why...." Dumbledore just smiled. "All shall be answered but I am not the one who should answer them. Please come with me."

With that, Dumbledore lead her down a great hallway. This was definitely not Hogwarts.

Eva finally had time to look at her surroundings....the book didn't say anything about this place. It was breathtaking. The hallway had to be at least 5 stories high and the floor was covered in a beautiful red carpet. The walls were lined with golden pillars, holding up the ceiling which looked like the night sky, strangely familiar to the ceiling of Hogwart's Great Hall. They finally stopped in front of huge oak doors. The doors seemed to be expecting them and started to slowly open by themselves. Eva let out a huge gasp.

The doors had opened to a huge circular room. All around were shelves full of books, more than you could imagine. To Eva, it seemed like all the books in the world could be found here. Squinting her eyes, she looked up. On the ceiling, a huge orb of light, similar to the sun, lit the room.

In the middle of the room, there was a desk with books and paper piled up high on top of it. Eva noticed a lady behind all of it, turning pages and quickly writing things down with a quill. The lady suddenly looked up and took off her glasses. She had a warm smile and a familiar face. Eva knew she saw her before....but where? Then it hit her.....the lady......

"Eva Chu! I present you the Head Witch of the Magic Realm.....Ms. J.K. Rowling!"

"THEE J.K. ROWLING?!"

Ms. Rowling started to laugh. Eva blushed. She didn't realize that she was shouting. "Haha! Don't be so shocked dear! You make me sound like some sort of celebrity!"

"But you are! Well.....back in the muggle world....." Eva wasn't sure if she was famous amongst the magic folk but she did create this world so shouldn't she be?

"Are you sure about that?" Ms. Rowling had a glint in her eyes. "Come! Sit down! You must be tired from the journey here and I'm sure you have alot on your mind right now."

Quickly, Eva went and sat down across from her. She was eager to ask her everything but didn't know where to start. Professor Dumbledore interrupted her thoughts. "Well me and Professor McGonagall should be leaving now. It was a pleasure meeting you Miss. Chu and we will all be looking forward to seeing you at Hogwarts!" With that, they left the room, the huge oak doors closing behind them.

Eva turned back and looked at Ms. Rowling. She had a warm glow to her that made her look so beautiful in her long flowing robes. Ms.Rowling smiled. "Well you must be wondering where you are! This is my office where I manage anything and everything in the Magic Realm. You see Eva, I, and generations before me, have been maintaining the natural order of this world."

Eva sat there in confusion. "So what you're trying to say is.....you're sort of like a God in this world?"

Ms. Rowling laughed. "We're not THAT great! But we do possess tremendous powers used to keep this world existing. Without us, the magic world would slowly fade away. Only a certain few, contain powers that no other witches or wizards possess."

"What kind of powers?"

"Powers that can change the course of the future...change a person's fate. We cannot mess with fate though for that holds terrible consequences. We can only help fate on it's course."

Eva was speechless. She didn't know where this was leading to and didn't know what this had to do with her. It was all too much for her to handle.

"I know this is a huge responsiblity and I've looked far and wide for the next heir to take my place. I've created books, the ones that were in your possession, to help you gain knowledge of this world......enough knowledge to transport you here. That is why when we had found you, your books had disappeared and all muggles had no memory of them. We had no need for the books any longer."

Eva didn't like where this was going......

"Yes Eva... you are the next heir in becoming Head Witch."

"I'm a what?!"

Eva was stunned. She couldn't be the head witch! She was a nobody! Just an average, normal girl! She couldn't take care of herself, let alone an entire world!

Ms. Rowling laughed. "Did you know you look just like Harry when he first found out he was a wizard?"

"But....Ms.Rowling..."

"First thing's first. Call me Joanne.....Jo if you would like. Don't be so formal!" She smiled.

"Oh...uh...Jo...I...I'm not much of the leader type and I think you've found the wrong girl. I'm just an average...normal..."

"Don't be silly! You may not have realized it yet but you have great potential. There is a lot of work to be done, but don't worry too much about it now, you still have a lot to learn and to gain the full potential of your powers, you must learn more about this world. That is why I've enrolled you into Hogwarts. It is a great way to help you along. "

Eva was relieved. She could act normally and not having to worry about the world's fate resting on her shoulders...not for now anyways and that was good enough for her. Nothing was going to ruin her time at Hogwarts. Eva grinned mischieveously. Besides.....these "powers" might come in handy.

"Well we better start as soon as possible! There is much to be done! But before I let you go you must remember these three simple rules......" Ms.Rowling's smile faded.

"First, don't tell ANYONE you are head witch, the dark side will try to pull you in and use your powers. You are still too weak to defend against them. Only I, Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall know. Whenever you need to ask something, come only to us."

Eva thougth to herself, that should be simple enough.

"Second, use your powers responsibly."

Eva frowned.

"Last but not least....don't get too attached to someone."

Eva was confused hearing the last rule. "What do you mean?"

"You see Eva, when you start to get emotionally attached to someone, you tend to protect them at all costs. This might change their fate and lead to consequences.

"Oh....." So don't fall in love with anyone? Simple enough, she thought. She wasn't planning to anyways....never did. She was used to the fact that guys never noticed her as a potential girlfriend anyways.....always was labelled "just a friend".

Ms. Rowling smiled. "Well now that we got that out of the way, I have a present for you before you leave." She looked up at the ceiling and waved something to come over. Eva looked up as a phoenix flew out of the orb of light.

The Phoenix was beautiful. Her gold and red feathers shimmered in the light. She flew down and started to circle around Eva, then landed on her lap. She nipped lightly on her hand.

"Wow.......she's so beautiful." Eva started to stroke the Phoenix's head.

"Yes, she is a beauty isn't she?"

"What's her name?"

"Fiera."

"Fiera...sh....she's for me?"

"Of course! I heard you have a liking for them? They're very useful and make extremely faithful pets."

"Yeah I love phoenixes! Never thought I could see them in real life! I don't know how to thank you! This is the best present ever!"

Ms. Rowling smiled. "I'm glad you like her, seems like she's very fond of you too!" The phoenix was. She was already cuddling up to Eva, like she was an old friend that she had missed.

"Oh my! Look at the time! Well I think it's about time to go now. There is much to be done! I've already told Professor Dumbledore to arrange Hagrid to be at Diagon Alley to help you shop for your school supplies. Now don't forget what I've told you. It's very important. Oh and be careful not to wave your hand around too much, you don't need a wand to make magic but it's better you learn how to use one......just for precaution. Now off you go!"

Suddenly the phoenix got up and flew out the window. Eva tried to stop it but the phoenix was gone. "Where is she going?"

Ms. Rowling grinned. "Well she can't follow you when you disapperate can she?"

Eva's eyes widen. "D..D...Disapperate?!" Eva had a feeling this wasn't going to go very well.......

"Isn't that sort of dangerous for me? Especially since I haven't done any magic yet...."

"Well you're not like most witches and wizards so I'm sure you'll do just fine. You must learn how to one day or another right? It's a very useful skill once you master it. Don't worry....I'll be looking after you."

"Al....Alright then....if you say so..." Eva wondered if she really wanted her to learn how to dissapperate or if she just ran out of Floo Powder. "So what do I do?"

"Well you don't have a wand yet but just concentrate really hard on the place you want to go."

"That's it?"

"Yes, that's it."

This should be simple enough Eva thought.

"Goodbye Eva and good luck in Hogwarts!"

"It was a great honour to meet you Jo! Hope to see you again!" With that, Eva stood there, thinking really hard of the cobbled London street.....all the shops..... She felt really silly just standing there with her eyes shut, but before she had a chance to stop and ask Jo to find another way to get to Diagon Alley, she felt a tingly feeling all over her, like she was dissolving......

Then suddenly the tingly feeling stopped. She quickly opened her eyes and checked if any body parts were left behind. Good. She hadn't splinched. A wave of relief fell over her but then suddenly.....she heard a scream.
