Management Team of the Association

The management team (Executive Committee) consist of nine people who were elected on 10 June 2001.Those people are:

10) Mr Abdul Elaziz Hassan is a co-opted member of the Management team, and he is the Editor of the Arabic Voice Newsletter.

The management team included dedicated and enthusiastic people, volunteered to work together in order to establish the foundation for the Arabic Centre. They achieved to get collective opinions from a survey of the Arab families in the area and formulated the main requirements for this community. The Arabic Centre will serve and develop these requirements.

HUDDERSFIELD ARABIAN ASSOCIATION
This is a non-political organisation representing the Arab community in Huddersfield and neighbouring areas.
A democratically elected Management Team (Executive Committee) is administering the Association in accordance to a constitution and Code of Conduct that were registered and legally bound.
The organisation is a non-profit making Community Group Charity and will use all surpluses for the advancement of the aims and objectives of the Association. 



THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To promote the interests of the Arab Community, by expressing and presenting the Arabic culture to the Kirklees Society for the benefit of the whole Community.
2. To develop the sense of community among the Arab families and offer mutual support for the members.
3. To strengthen the education and social links between the Arab Community and other communities in the region.
4.  To provide support for the new- comers to the region and help them to establish and reside in the area.
5. To establish The Arabic Cultural Centre in the Huddersfield area. This centre will have the following activities: children cultural and Language Education, Childcare with cr�che facilities, Arabic cultural and history lectures for Adult, Arabic Library, Information centre with advice leaflet for the new-comers, disable and pensioner, indoor sport activities for children and formation of Arabic team in all kind of sport, social gatherings, family entertainment, travelling and daily trips to local attractions.
6. To produce a regular Newsletter �The Arabic Voice� in Arabic Language to cover the activities of the Arabic Centre, communicate educational and important local news for the Arab Community in the area.
THE MEMBERSHIP

Individual over 18 years of age, and who actively supports the Objective of the Association, can apply for Membership.
Membership of the association shall be open only to Arabic individual (or has a family connection with Arabic Country) living in Huddersfield or neighbouring areas.
Members shall abide be the rules and regulations of the Association, which are related to our Arabic culture and heritage (an Arabic copy of the Association Manifesto can be obtain from the Centre).
Any member in breach of any aspect of the Association Constitution, Code of Conduct or the rules and regulation, may be liable for expulsion and termination of the membership.
Members shall pay the membership fees set every year at Annual General Meeting.
Members who are permanent residents in Huddersfield or neighbouring area can be nominated and elected in a democratic way for the Management team.
Every member shall have one vote.
One third of the Management Team members shall be for women members, therefore the Association is pledging Arab women, living in the area and willing to serve the community to apply for the Management Team Membership.
