| This is my 16th year coaching the Girls Throwers at Mission Viejo High School. Let me give you a little background about myself. I graduated from Mission Viejo in 1989, I played football & Track & Field all four years. My throwing coach, Hugo DeGroot, also known as "Burger" and a favorite substitute teacher at MVHS, is also still coaching at MVHS! It has been awesome learning from him and coaching with him for almost 20 years! I Threw the Shot Put & Discus in high school from 1986-1989. At Saddleback Community College I threw the Discus & Javelin from 1990-1992. I started coaching in 1993. I have had the pleasure coaching, 31 league champions, 5 Orange County Champions, 3 CIF Champions, and four California State Meet Finalsists in the discus. I am also very proud to have coached many girls from different sports in weightlifting. I recieved my Masters in Education in 2007 along with a teaching credential in Health Science and PE from National University. I earned a B.A. in History from California State University Long Beach in 2002. |
