These two pics are of the same nest. This chick is testing his nerves by standing on the edge of the nest opening. One to two days later he and his 4 siblings fledged. I tried something different with the wicker nest. I cut 1-2" off of the opening, making the opening larger.
I wished all my pics turned out this clear. This nest is located to the right of the above nest. This finch turned out to be a pied male. Cathy Palmer owns the siblings to this chick. Look how much nesting material is used for this nest.
I couldn't help myself with making the below pic so large. But it looks like this chick is about to jump right out to you. Its the same nest as in the first two pics on the page.
