Ammo Reviews!
Keep checking back, we will be updating this everytime we go out.  We will be checking penetration capabilities, accuracy tests, reliability, ballistic tests (standard, through car doors, windshields, leather, etc).  This will be fun!
Wolf 223 (62 grain)
Cheap blasting ammo.  You can find this stuff for $100 per 1000 at any gunshow.  At first, I must admit, I loved it.  It seems to be fairly accurate & consistent.  I was actually thinking about putting it in my BOB (Bug out Bag).  The rounds are steel cased, sealed primers, and a sealant around the bullet itself.  There is a film on the casing to prevent rusting. That is the reason why I will not buy anymore of this ammo. Another reason why I dislike this ammo is the smell!  I can't stop thinking of that horrid Horse urine smell - yuk!

I have a friend who was shooting it through his Armalite (chrome lined bore), He went through about 60 rounds fairly quickly & stopped firing.  The barrel was hot, but not too bad.  When he adjusted his sights he went to fire another round.  It went bang, but would not cycle.  That lacquer stuck to the chamber so bad - we had to pound it out with a cleaning rod!

Then there was my AUG - I wanted to see if it would happen with that weapon system - it did!  Then there was my Colt AR, again it stuck!  Bushmaster - it stuck!

The only weapon I have that is a 223 that it did not stick int was my buddies Daewoo DR200, and then I am thinking we did not get it hot enough.

If I were you - I wouln't shoot it.  We will revisit this again when we do some ballistic tests.

Update:  Wolff has changed the sealant around the case head.  The rounds do not stick like my initial tests.  Still stinky but not sticky :)
American Eagle/ Federal (62 grain)
Nice ammo!  Very clean burning & accurate!  It is more expensive (67% more)  than the wolf, but not near as dirty (or stinky).  Try it out guys!  I have only went through 150 rounds & love the stuff - good practice ammo.  I will keep the IMI 'rat holed' & use this stuff for accuracy retention.  I am looking forward to testing the ballistics of this stuff.

UPDATE:
I have went through about 2000 rounds of this to date.  It is very accurate.  Penetration tests seem to be close to the IMI SS109.  Craters on our steel targets seem actually bigger than the SS109 and much better than the wolf.

Not a single bad round yet.  One thing I wish that they would do is have an easier way to get the rounds out of the box.  I like the IMI 30 rounds in a cardboard box.  They are just sitting in there so nicely.  The 10 round plastic holders are nice if it were on my hunting rifle.

Again, very clean accurate ammunition.
IMI SS109 (62 grain, steel penetrator)
My favorite!  Very expensive ($299 for 1200 shipped from Cole), but if my life depended on ammo - this is what I would want.  Clean burning and Very Very Very accurate! (100m - .43 MOA from the ultimate  Carbine!)(see second page of the AR15 write ups).

You can also hear the difference when it hits - Kathump!  The other ammo's POI is better than the 55 grain stuff, but nothing comes close to the IMI green tip!

Again, keep looking for the Ammo update.
Coming soon:
55 grain vs 62 grain - what is best for you?
Penetration & ballistics: Car doors, windshields, solid wood doors, 2x4's, 2x6's, glass, brush, etc
9mm ammo tests: 115 grain, 124 grain, 147 grain, +p+, FMJ vs HP etc.
Subsonic ammo - we are going to try to let you HEAR the difference through a suppressor (online!)
