| Longe Range Shooting Tutor! |
| The rain is almost horizontal. I am suprised to see that it isn't snowing, it is so cold out! I check my range (mildots), and adjust my scope. The range flag is straight out at the 9:00 position. I use the equation that I have hammered into my small brain to determine the adjustment for the windage. I load and fire the rifle. I hold my breath in anticipation. A few seconds later I hear the most pleasant sound, 'Dong', then the target falls down. I hit the target a little low, but still with in 4" from center. 940 Yards! Fantastic! I yell out to my wife "check this out!". She just shakes here head as she walked by. I had a hard time judging wind today. Man, I fired 5 boxes of ammo. At $17 a box that was $85! I am glad I will be more prepared tomorrow. Tomorrow I will actually go to the range. I stayed in my warm home, in my PJ's, sitting in front of my PC. I have been using the Long range shooting Tutorial CD from shooter ready. I am so impressed with it, I can not say enough! It may cost $35 but it will be THE best $35 you will ever spend. If you use a scope with mildots, you NEED this program. www.shooterready.com It covers absolutely everything. Range estimation, wind, movers, weather, moisture, absolutely everything. Not only does it have several ranges, there is a complete interactive (in some areas) class room!!!!!! My one gripe is this: Only one caliber/bullet. From what I was told (Hard Rock from Assaultweb.net), is that they will have a custom version available soon. I hope so! That will be fantastic. Right now it is calibrated to the 175 grain Seirra BTHP. I shoot a 168 out of a 24" tube. So my dope on my rifle is a litte different. This has been fixed! Thanks Karin! The image is fantastic. Looks real (terrain wise). Sound is cool, I like hearing the report of the rifle and the 'Dong' of the target. I hate not hearing that though :o) Please do yourself a favor. Hit the above link & try the trial version. Or just trust me & buy it right now! My wife thinks I am crazy, wait until I put my ghillie on to 'train' in front of the PC :o) |

| UPDATE!!! 9/9/02 I recieved the new CD. WOW! They added a 50 BMG and a 338! Custom CD's are available. I can't believe it, they were able to improve the ENTIRE CD. Check it out! - that is an order! |
